You walk 50-60 miles a week? Jesus dude. That’s a lot.
I was the first few months. 4-5 miles, twice a day. I’ve backed way off now, average around 35, since I’ve started running more. My feet were really starting to hurt and I have dropped all the weight I needed so I’m just trying to maintain.

Since the 2nd of May I’ve logged 834 miles, 234 hours & burned 81,000 calories and that’s just on the App I have been using to keep track of my walks/runs.

Went to concert with my wife tonight. Dropped son at my sisters at 3pm, concert “starts” at 6 in BKN.

at 9:30, band (Bonobo) hits the stage after 3 endless warmup acts. Started standing outside venue around 5, then the crush of douchebags piles and packs in. Almost got into a couple fights.

After 5 songs, I pulled the plug and GTFOT.

The music was great, but I just hate people more. No way I could dump my kid on a work night and show up at 1am to get him. They are prolly doing an encore right now as I type.

next time : no GA, only VIP section with fuggin seats and away from the stoned cocksuckers wilding in my personal space.

Sat is looking like a broken record game for UK. Underdog, folks doubting the team, etc etc. It’s just the way Stoops likes it. Now just need some locker room material from a talking head or 2 to add some extra motivation to the team. Ole Miss has their own issues and we get our best player (outside of Levis) back at a position that has struggled the most part of the last 4 games. 12pm game ( 11am Oxford time) will be to KY’s advantage. I like my team’s chances.

From the football board:

Tulsa rushed 37 times for 107 yards against Northern Illinois. That is 2.9 yards per carry. Yes, that Northern Illinois.

Tulsa rushed 43 times for 262 yards against Ole Miss. That is 6.1 yards per carry.

Might just be a great time to get Rodriguez back.

An old school Stoops bullyball beatdown of The Fighting Tony the Landsharks where we have 200+ rushing yards would be an absolute delight.

Our o-line has been bad at pass protection but I'm not sure how well they have done at run blocking. Smoke and Co. are absolutely mediocre. Smoke, like AJ Rose before him, is world class at running fast through a wide open hole and doing absolutely nothing else out there. With C Rod, we have a guy who can actually break a tackle and exhaust a defense.

Our front 7 is stout and Ole Miss is averaging 280 rushing yards per game versus 207 passing yards. I don't see us giving up 280 rushing yards to anyone short of an NFL squad.

I hope we come out to a bored, hungover Ole Miss crowd straggling in before noon, get a quick explosive TD, and spend the rest of the afternoon dominating the clock and stealing Lane Kiffin's soul.

-It's gotta be a pretty special act to get me to a concert these days. Just sounds miserable.

-Speaking of, anyone else spend Saturday around 7-10pm at a 1980's cover band concert?

-Nice work, August. Keep it up.

-UKFB just casually selling out non-P5 games. Lol. Remarkable. Watched #22 Wake Forest play #5 Clemson on Saturday. Top 25 matchup. We have a better history than Wake, but not that much better, if we're being honest. Half of Wake's stadium was Clemson fans and it was still 30-40% empty. UK Fans are badass and the gameday experience at CW has become pretty f*cking good. Need to scrap the new tradition of -> doing the wave while a starting player is injured on the field tho.

-Big fan of "back that *** up" being played when the other team gets a penalty.

-Win this weekend and one can really start to dream. Clemson and USC aren't better than us and definitely aren't running the table. That leaves UT and Michigan b/w us and top 5. Then we get Goliath, at home, for all the marbles.

-Spent last week in Nashville. Good lord, it's only been 3 years, but that place is completely different. Brand new buildings everywhere. That old dilapidated area past Union Station is now all state of the art, 5 blocks of full glass, Whole Foods and other high end retail. The Gulch looks like Buckhead in it's prime. The random vacant buildings across from Legends are now a 3-4 story group of brand name restaurant, bars and retail. It's not bad... but it's definitely different. I'm sure it's a hell of a place to start out after college.

-Hendon Hooker is the real deal, at least at this level. He just doesn't miss a read. Vols look good on that side. Don't think their D is there yet but they're dangerous. God I hate them and that fat f*cking sweaty slob is the perfect douche bag to be their coach.

-Levis was en feugo Saturday. Kid is special. Shouldn't be hard to recruit a high level transfer after his year and the weapons in our WR Corp.

-The Rogan episode with Max Lugavere is a must listen for anyone that gives a **** about their health. Basically reaffirms the changes I've been working on but dives into why it works.

-It amazes me, people our age, that have grown up with technology(computers, internet, video games) our entire lives... can't operate a television in 2022. A hand full of you buffoons would still have the early 80's slider style corded cable controller if available. 10 years ago the streaming stuff was clunky AF, but now it's so f*cking simple. My 1.8 year old can literally navigate it to cocomelon.

My 4 year old can navigate the smart tv to any app she wants, which is kind of terrifying. She also can do the same with the TCL Roku tv while outside .

Fully capable of streaming I just don’t care for it as my primary viewing option for sports. There’s value with spending an extra 30 or so per month to have a cable package with every sports channel imaginable broadcasting live without a delay, unlimited DVR space and having channels with numbers that I know so I can switch back n forth with ease instead of relying strictly on a guide.

The extra 30 I pay per month also enables me to STREAM all of the channels I enjoy on any device, which helps while traveling or if I want to plug in the ROKU tv in the basement to have multiple games/tv’s on at once.

I can’t find the answer to this on the webs, but has Rodriguez been practicing with the team and just not allowed to play?

Saturday in Oxford showing 79 high and abundant sunshine per my weather app?
All depends on which way the potential hurricane goes. A few models have it landing on the AL/MS coast. The majority have it shifting east and hitting the west coast of Florida.

Is streaming even cheaper now? Between YouTube TV, Netflix, Hulu, Disney, HBO, etc I’m probably paying more than I did with Dish just to keep up with content. It’s really stupid actually. My wife wants to watch some shows on Apple + too now but I’m hoping to hold off my 10th streaming subscription. It’s amazing these billion dollar media companies figured out a way to monetize and increase their profits through streaming!

- Anth - the issue Saturday wasn’t luddites. It was that F’ing ESPN wasn’t playing the game on its app as it said it was.

- I love concerts. That’s as bizarre of take as BBdK not liking movies. That said, my days of the lawn at Riverbend have been over for a decade. Not watching a show with drunken teenagers.

- These women in their ridiculous big-brimmed hats. 🙄

- Anyone seen Tom Brady lately? Dude is gaunt AF. Doesn’t look healthy at all. Go enjoy your riches, supermodel wife and children, dude.

- He’s a bit of a buck, but PJ Fleck is a helluva head of a college football program.

- Jenny Dell on the CBS SEC games 🔥😱

- I knew Nashville was done when like half the Bachelorette contestants started being bartenders, personal trainers and social media influencers who lived in Nashville.

Smoke is who he is. For all his limitations, he played his *** off and sacrificed his body for 4 weeks in a position he isn't built for and pretty much got us through it unscathed.

51 carries in D1 football in 4 games is a workload. Respect.
Yup, he's another Tony Dixon, Alfonso Smith, JoJo Kemp, AJ Rose. Smoke is not a star feature back but he is certainly useful.

By having Cable, Dish, DirectTV or YouTubeTV you aren’t removing any of the other streaming services.

YouTube has added a bunch of stupid *** channels to charge me more that I never even consider. Started at $40 a month and now around $70 but I pay extra for red zone.

The other crap is for my kids/wife.

You would be paying for Netfilx, Hulu, Disney, HBO, etc. even if you had dish. None of those are live TV replacements.

-lol, and yeah it's so hard to predict where that cane will be by next Saturday anyway it wouldn't be accurate at this point.

People in the Keys were already buying up all the gas and there were two gas stations already out when I was leaving Sat morning. Going to be rough being a tourists trying to drive out not thinking all the gas may be gone.

During Irma as we traveled North to Tampa, we had to use a gas station app that actually showed you what stations still had gas and that was over a week before it hit and we didn't make it by much from one station to the next.

-I also don't think I'm saving any money with streaming. I have YTTV and just canceled Paramount, AppleTV and still have a few shared accounts like Netflix and Prime. I honestly don't use much of them except YTTV.

In the process of cutting lots of scripts as I see them come in on CC bills.

-No plans this weekend, so we'll see what pops up. I'm sure I'll be driving somewhere to go see friends. IT's definitely a struggle keeping the old pals in touch and hanging out as you get older as WCC mentioned. I pretty much have to be the one to make the drives and texts to get things to happen which is fine being single and no kids. Even my other single/no kids friends are so entrenched in their day to day lives I usually go to them.

5 years ago I had Dish with HBO, Cinemax, and Showtime for 89.99 There was still too much content to watch and see and I pretty much had everything I wanted. Now obviously there’s better series content nowadays that I enjoy but I’m paying almost double for streaming. And they’ll keep increasing the price of subscriptions so it’ll probably be like 300 bucks in 10 years and then they’ll all consolidate and turn into monopolies again and we’ll be right back to where we started.

-I am already feeling better knowing CROD is playing this weekend. With our makeshift line against Iowa he ran for 107 yards on 20 carries. If he's picking up 5.4 yards per carry this Saturday, in conjunction with our passing game, it's going to be a very good day for the Wildcats.

Speaking of, I'm ready to crown our receivers. Man, I'm not sure I've ever seen dudes like Robinson, Key, Brown together at one time in Lexington. Assuming getting CROD back is the cure for our line, we're legit. Like, really legit.

-Levis with time is... well, good luck. His accuracy is lethal. Hitting these dudes in stride like he does is very impressive.

-Thought our unis popped Saturday night. Looked good on TV, even if it's a boring combo. JMO.

-Glad to be in full on SEC play now. Part of the fun for me is getting the other side's take on the game via media, fansites, etc.

-Season starts Saturday. Leggo.

- August, that's awesome. Congratulations and keep it up.

- I know I'm 33 going on 80, but the only move for concerts is lower level seating. I went to a handful of games in the Erupption Zone while I was in law school and my lower back felt like it was going to explode standing on concrete for 2 hours then, hell with standing for the duration of four freaking acts now. Also cuts down on the riff raff behavior. But I prefer going to concerts solo so I can enjoy the show without wondering if whoever I'm with is bored or having a good time, which I realize is weird, overly anxious behavior.

Again, I'm 33 going on 80.

- I cancel streaming services based on whatever show I'm binging or just finished with and run through a rotation. Hulu gives me free months doing that sometimes, so there's that. There's just too many options and too much content to justify paying for all of them at once. YoutubeTV is by far the best option for sports (having tried Sling, Hulu TV, I can't even remember how many others...) but it's way more annoying to switch between games than it is to flip back and forth with the "last channel" button with regular cable. I keep thinking the bubble will bust and we'll be back to a cable monopoly any second, but here we still are? Regardless, AMC+ is the most *** of all the apps and I hope they enjoy the giant drop in subscribers following the finale of Better Call Saul.

- I love a good murder show, but Dahmer is almost too much.

- A lot of missed opportunities on defense this week, but I'd rather lay an egg at home and still get a fairly comfortable W than do that in a hostile road environment. Having C-Rod back will really open up options for Levis, but man, the O-line is just butt and I'm not sure that's going to get better. (Could say the same for the Bengals. JFC, how could you do that to Burrow.)

ETA it does not get old hearing "there are multiple NFL receivers on this roster" and then seeing week after week it's not just hyperbole.

- Butt punt > butt fumble

- I'd be more likely to switch everything over to streaming if I didn't already have buffering issues with Roku as it is.

- If I'm Deion, the Georgia Tech job is one that I jump on. Gets to live in the city that already loves him, recruiting territory as fertile as it gets, would immediately jolt a fanbase, etc. It's a pretty ripe scenario for success, IMO. I know some people are thinking Auburn for him, and I'm sure he would relish the challenge to battle Saban, but at GT he gets to battle Kirby for recruiting dominance, and play in a conference that's easier to win.

- Wife and I were back at Louisville Comedy Club yesterday afternoon to see one of my favorite comics, Dustin Nickerson. He was great, and the host was pretty solid, too. His opening act was actually a guy who performed at the same open mic I had done earlier in the week, and he did pretty well. Was pretty jealous of him, tbh.

- Daughter sent in her first college application yesterday, and it was to UK. Would be the first person in either of our families to go to UK for undergrad. See Blue and whatnot.

- The new Dave's Hot Chicken on Richmond Road impressed. Better chicken than Joella's, IMO. Sides not as good.

- So is Cal still in on the Perry kid? I know they offered him a scholarship, but he's been visiting Michigan, Purdue, etc., and no recent mention of UK.

Deleting streaming services as my wife continues to cancel bank cards and never updates billing info . Netflix gone! Outside of documentaries, not sure they have much original content to keep me.

Seems Ole Miss has their own attendance issues, affordability to attend games, based on their message board. Would assume most of their fans are no longer living in Mississippi and are encountering same accommodation issues visiting teams fans have.

CROD gets his own yards and has the vision. We'll be better off Saturday if he's in shape.

IMO, UK football fans have graduated to anxiety instead of just being happy to be there. We all kinds of wackos on the basketball side. Good development in the grand scheme.

As bad as it was Saturday, I guess the issue was never in doubt. If we hadnt seen a couple of onside kick recoveries and wild endings earlier in the day we probably wouldnt have felt as anxious.

As worrisome as the o-line is, the defense cant just sit back and get picked apart 8 yards at a time by Ole Miss... Be better. Play with a little anger.

That little debbie board looked amazing.

Looks like the oddsmakers dont like us on the road- and maybe thats the way it needs to be. Not gonna spend time s'ing each others d's.

Wasnt a particularly exciting Pres Cup but was decent enough viewing. Just feel like the UA team kind of went through the motions the last day and a half. Interesting to see the amount of disdain that JT gets from the online crowd. Maybe not wrong when it comes to those team events... he's easy to hate if hes not on your side. The US still needs that kind of personality. Finau, Speith, Scheffler's of the world are just way too likable. Been mention of that event going coed- which would be kind of cool. Like to see an instagram golf girl 4 ball tourney too.

*Pumped for Saturday. Like Brady, we have our house booked and ready to roll out early Friday morning.

*I was pretty damn happy with the crowd size and pre-game energy.

*Didn't leave Louisville until 3. We ended up parking at my buddy's kid's house. He's at UK and lives just on the other side of Baptist Hospital. Easy 15 minute walk to the Orange lot.

Finally go to the stadium around five-thirty. Walked around, saw some people, drank a few beers, and headed in right at game time. Wish I would have had time to walk over to the tailgate but felt obligated to hang around on the other side. Plus, time wasn't on my side.

*After driving up Friday, back home Saturday morning, then riding back to Lexington that afternoon, I was exhausted. Slept like a baby the entire way home. The upside, no hangover yesterday.

*Waldo's is a great addition to the hood. Great food and the owners are good people. Highly recommend. Holla.

That parts i caught of the President's Cup were awesome television.

Tom Kim's Saturday was just incredible, and Max Homa is a full blown superstar now...some serious stones on that kid; he's just a great story all around.

His rally on Friday & then Sunday was special.

-JT is 17-5-3 as a member of Team USA in Ryder/President competition. Absurd, and well on his way to being the one of best ever in that category. Clearly just getting started.

Didn’t even walk 3 feet and here comes Doc Boat running out explaining that I need to move my car because he had to go home to get ready for a KISS cover band show.
In Doc's defense it was probably better than KISS's show at Louder Than Life this weekend. My co-worker went all 4 days 😖 and said they lip-synched their whole show.

Had multiple people say Alice Cooper was excellent. Must've had a helluva round at Valhalla that morning to get ready.

Practice your tails off this week. Fix these blocking schemes. Give Levis and CRod time and space to do their thing. Levis was damn near flawless on 3rd downs last game, and that is very encouraging. 5-0 is right there for the taking. I want the Cadillac, not the steak knives.
