There's just no reason not to be staggering drunk with optimism at this point, and not necessarily because it's deserved, but because that's what every college football fanbase with a legitimate program is week 1.

High time we joined the party, Wildcat Friends. Drink. It. Up.

Old man post - Ugh, my allergies have blown the f*** up, and they've never bothered me in the fall. Woke up with a terrible sore throat, head stuffed to the rafters, sneezing like a MF'er. I went and got tested at Georgetown Pharmacy (negative for COVID) Weather channel said we've got record high pollen counts. WTF? Is it bothering anyone else?

Speaking of old, elbow started bothering me a week ago and I thought it was just from sleeping on it wrong. Hadn’t hit anything but by Friday it got worse and bruised so scheduled an appointment for Wednesday.

Monday night while taking my treatment the machine misfired and blew through 2 veins. Must’ve bent the needle since it broke when it automatically pulls back. Put a bleeding half dollar knot on my stomach and I had to remove the broken needle with tweezers. Now besides my regular death I got to ice a burning, sore, bloody bump for 2 days in lingering agony.

Today go to scheduled appointment for elbow and find out I have tennis elbow. WTF!! Then find out because of my other diseases and treatments they can only try topical ointment and a damn brace. If not better in 2 weeks then surgery.

How many damn problems can a person actually have? I can’t even fish. I now know how the Michael Douglas character in “Falling Down” got to that point.

Yeah. It's peaking right now. I get it every year when school starts back up. You're living my last 40-some years of existence in Kentucky. Asked my doctor once what I can do to help ease the problems. He said, "Move to Arizona." Apparently, we're ground zero for plant allergens in North America. The recent change in our weather patterns to have so much rain have made them even worse.

You were positive....G'town Pharm has already been venmo'd a few grand by Fauci to support his numbers for his forthcoming trial.

Feel better.

A daily spoonful of local honey helps a lot (when paired with a daily regiment of antihistamine, nasal spray, eye drops, staying indoors, showering multiple times a day, and sometimes holding a wet cloth to your eyes)!

Biggest bunch of ******** in the entire realm of home remedies. Do NOT trust.

RE: comedians

Pryor was great for his time, but as a world we have evolved to the point his stuff now seems outdated.

One of my favorite segments in comedy ever, because it hits close to home, is Eddie griffin on coach speech!

Even this now is outdated as my kids will never understand a teacher putting hands on you.

KY Downs kicks off today. :fire:

Coolest (and richest) meet in the country with all the best in the world gathering in Franklin, KY for 7 days; so dope what it's grown into.

Heading over for a day, Strokin?

-Good rec on the OF 100 Proof, anth. Enjoyed a couple last night as the summer bourbon hiatus has officially concluded. It's good to be back.

-It's not Friday? Feels like a Friday. Regardless, Thursday before Labor Day weekend marcus be one. Think I'm calling it a work week... #sales

-Like the Purdue moneyline tonight. F James Franklin.

-10-2, losses against UGA and Miss. State at home. There's no good explanation for the predicted Miss. State loss, same as it ever was.

-Free WIFI OUTSIDE Kroger Field so we can download our mobile tickets. Just not enough cold hard cash in Lexington to give 60,000 access to the outside world for the 4+ hours these games now take. Absurd, and honestly a much bigger offense by UKAD than forbidding booze to the masses.

-When is Sloot dropping her annual clear purse advisory post? About time.

-Can almost taste that ice cold ML Saturday. Hope to see a lot of you fools.

-Taking my daughter to the game. This will be her 3rd and first official night game. Pretty pumped for her to see a packed house and true environment.

-Hope Bowden gets a real opportunity in New England.

New England was my first thought when I heard Bowden was cut from Miami. Perfect spot for him. Belichick will plan to use his strengths.

Cats are #1 against the spread during 1H the last few seasons. IMO, this is not only because we are better than outsiders perceive us, but because Stoops likes to get a lead and sit on it (i.e. we disproportionately have fewer possessions in the 2H, so our points/leads are weighted early)

Without the clock control luxury that is Chris Rodriguez, I think the ornery one might keep his foot on the gas these first __ games, though. Could be fun. If I was a gambol, I would bet on Cats to cover when favored without CRod.

- OR -

Stoops might try the same tactic with Smoke and Co., with less success when he tries to control the clock anyway, and we won't cover. That's why I'm not a gambol.

I feel like we're going to see a few chunk play TDs on Saturday. Smoke, Key, Robinson all going to the house from 50+ yds.

- Love Cincinnati boys The National during Fall.

- Aside from one’s thoughts about EDM, how can anyone not find some hipster geek jumping behind a laptop utterly ridiculous?

- This Netflix Tim Donaghy doc is enlightening. Dude started by just giving his buddy game picks more or less on whether the ref calling the game had an axe to grind with one of the teams, coaches or players. He called it correctly at like 80% … which is why I felt little remorse for that corrupt ***** John Higgins.

- Welp, looks I’m seeing “Hamilton” this month for MIL’s birthday.

- RE: Today’s Country - BBdK is right. That “Flowershop” song and really a decent amount of Morgan Wallen is good ****. Also kinda like that “Damn Strait” song by Scotty McCreery of all people. Don’t @ me.

- Fellas, we made it. Happy College Football Season. Go Mountaineers and Boilermakers tonight.

Won't be heading to Franklin, dK. I've actually never been to this event, but have heard that it can be a logistic nightmare for the common man like me. Otherwise, it's pretty celebrated in this area (and the Nashville market) especially in the last 5 years or so.

In the past, that locale hasn't necessarily been all that welcoming for socialites. It's the bottom rung of degenerate railbirds. I've seen ladies cash their child support check and then walk right up to a window. It can be a tough scene on a normal day, but obviously this isn't a normal meet.

* I've mentioned before that a close fraternity brother of mine is from the Pegram family and he's now the jockey agent for Prat and Mike Smith. He said back in the day that horses that ran there got beat up by the track pretty bad. I'm sure they've redone it because they wouldn't run these types of horses there if it still had that reputation.

Had the pleasure of being on a Twitter Spaces with @SAECATFAN & JDrum last night. Both offering very awesome thoughts on this years team as far as other SEC schools. JDrum has been in the media for years, so I expected him to be on top of his game, but I have to continue to give props to SAE. I've listened to his podcasts and some the stuff hes wrote and he's always on point with no sugar sprinkles or BS. Honestly the way you sculpt your thoughts or even keep things moving along on the podcast spaces thing when a bit of silence is beginning in the group is pro-like. SO not sure where you got your chops, but I'm giving you props.

So this Miller Light is for you SAECatFan.

Permanent placement hearing in 20 minutes for nieces and nephew. Hopefully it doesn’t get pushed back again.

The nieces dad called this morning trying to be slick with word play about wanting joint custody with us, and nothing changes but he wants to move to mount Washington and maybe that could lead to the girls staying with him.

“Whatever the girls want man that’s all I’ll go by.”

Dad jumps straight to, so you’ll fight me over custody and try to stop me from getting my girls……..

meditate to the dial tone MFer, no time for BS today.

- New DJ Khalid is ok. Yes, Jay killed his verse, but the rest of the album is forgettable at best.

- getting a good look at the Vols tonight and Cards tomorrow night. Can not state how happy I’ll be on the back deck with the big screen going.

- In fact, I just bought a 19’ blow up screen and a projector I can hook the phone to and watch night games like that because of YouTube TV.

Naturally it’s for Video study of my sons football games.

- Two True FR starting WRs? Holy hell, I have no clue how that slipped past me.

- New Down Home glassware came in today. Perfect timing.

-Flonase, Mucinex and throat coat tea for this guy. Must not currently be my flavor as I'm not all congested. The ******* berries are starting to fall off the gingko, so something must be happening.

-OF100, OF Rye, EW BiB are all about $20 and as good or better than 99% of the rebranded stuff out there. Just great whiskeys. There's really not a giant step up from those until you get into some of the real special stuff. I'll throw a WFDO or 1910/20 in there every once in awhile.

-I'll take over for SB as the SOKY expert now that I've been a business owner in the area for about 2 months. So direct those questions to me moving forward. TIA.

-Only 30% of kids under 11 and 3%(THREE!!) 😭under 5 years got vaccinated.

-Oh so a nerd behind a laptop is that much better than a dude in drab clothes wearing makeup strumming along to depressing rock? Or whatever the hell you call those bedazzled jeans and frosted tips country rapping? FOH.

-WS said this is the 8th season since we moved from the Nutter Endzone. Man, we all had some times down in that sucker. It's honestly a miracle we were never arrested or involved in a real altercation. Blows a hole in Mitch's fans can't handle booze theory.

-Little man ran his first 2 CC meets last 2 weeks. He's a good little ball player but this kid is meant for endurance. I've noticed since he was young and realized he had another gear since coaching other kids. When they stop running in baseball he keeps going and going and going. Also, really nice to just be a spectator and a sport I never participated. He loves basketball and baseball but I think this is his path. We'll see.

-Orders salad, extra chicken, no croutons, no bread, 10% tip, total is $28.97. Salad places are just in f*ck it mode. How has inflation hit them harder than any other market?

- Another outstanding episode of BMW.

- Late night slate of games is pretty underwhelming. So once that 7:00-8:00 window of games ends, I'm planning on enjoying Sam Morril's new Netflix special. One of the best comics in the game today, IMO.

- Is Kyle Whittingham the most underappreciated CFB coach of this era? Took over for Urban's two epic years and after finding his footing, built the program back up to a high level. Two losing seasons out of 17 at a place where winning hasn't come easily. Has won 11 out of 15 bowl games. Conference titles in two different conferences. And is coaching at a place with virtually no recruiting base.

- Bowl game names that I miss: Copper Bowl, Bluebonnet Bowl, Hall of Fame Bowl.

- Could go for some hot chicken.

Smart ""New Country fan" (or foe) wastes zero energy hating Wallen, Combs, FGL, or (insert anyone)

...and directs 100% of said energy where it needs to be, which is hating Kane Brown.

Good grief. He's trying to actually brand this **** as "New Country"

Appreciate the kind words, Huber! It's a lot of fun. Man I was humbled by everyone else's knowledge of the program and just tried to pick my spots last night. The Big Blue Motley Crew twitter space is cool as hell.

The podcast is a blast and has become a hobby. Pretty innocent fun, and I'm tickled to death that anyone voluntarily wastes 30 minutes of their time listening. Much appreciated again (you too, Llama).
