Buddy's dad was on the Yanks at the time, his mom was friends with the wives. She said it was pretty crazy, emotional and utter chaos. He was 8 or 9 at the time so doesn't remember a lot.

Pratt was the best color guy UK ever had on the radio. He was an even better human being. BBN hasn't suffered a loss like this since Bill Keightly.

I would bet that Goose will ascend to the color role with Leach. I can't imagine Mash would take the job, but I would also love to see it. #AnyoneButRex

Did you all get rain? We had a couple 75 mph bursts here, sky got extry dark, radar indicated heavy rain, then not a single f’ing drop. It just disappeared. Even the radar was like *hellifiknow* and shrugged.

I have been chainsawing and cleaning up a huge branch that fell close to our backyard fence for the last 3 hours, though. Though it’s not a flat tire in 105 degree heat while sweating the ***-end out of a pair of Hagar wrinkle free khakis, t’is enough. T’will serve. That was a hell of a time.

Blind Melon’s “No Rain” is a hell of a 90s anthem.

-My other nephew is also 15 and throws 85 mph and has a 72 mph curveball w/ 14" break, he pitches for CovCath, his dad was drafted by the reds with Adam Dunn but blew his elbow in 3A

-My daughter is 12 in the 7th grade, she was the starting (only) pitcher for Notre Dame Academy's JV softball team, she threw a perfect game and finished 6-4 with a 3.1 ERA this spring

Let the wife sleep in this morning and I took the 10 mo old. Never fails she takes a bit ****. I’m in the walk in shower with an out of control shower nozzle dangling spraying water all over me and the baby. Baby covered in **** from head to toe. I’m covered in ****. I finally grab the nozzle and spray the baby’s *** down. Since I don’t have my glasses on and it’s dark, I can’t see a gd thing. Wife comes in about 3/4 of way through all of it and by this point I’m stripped down naked. There’s **** in the shower, on baby’s face, on my leg, on bath mat, etc.

I walk out and say, “this is what happens when you leave men in charge”.

Happy f’n Saturday.

Ben McDonald is great on air. Perfect mix of old baseball stories and insights into the ongoing game, player psychology, coaching moves, etc.
