- Chicken Salad Chick is the truth. Kickin' Kay Lynne is the go-to, but their classic always fits the bill.

- Cleaning out my dad's house. Furniture? Easy. Clothing? Easy. Decor? Easy. Pictures/mementos? One of the hardest things I've ever done.

- Scrappy bunch from Woodford had a good run but Russell County proves that if you have aces, not much else matters.

- East Carolina wins game one of its Super. Was way out in front on Cliff Godwin as Mingione's replacement.

- Dua Lipa's "Break My Heart" gave me hope for pop music.

*Speaking of talent, the street party last night was ridiculous. The weather was perfect, the band was good, and the women were showing off their best assets.

*Nevel Meade is my go-to course. 10 minutes away.

*Played Glenn Oaks on Tuesday. Not a bad course. Only put one ball in someone's gutter.

*I hate roller-coasters but love any and all water rides.

Cocaine overdose seems like a bad way to go actually. (that said, if anyone is holding, it might reduce the boredom, the wife took off to her parents' house, after getting a negative test result)

I feel fairly certain that I am NOT going to actually die from Covid. LOL

No respiratory problems at all. No diabeetees. Perfect blood pressure.

Not that I remember. LOL

My wife has had it. I mean, I might have had it and not known. Started feeling "hungover" yesterday (but i hadn't had a drink since Sunday) and SCPS requested that I get a test.

I feel right as rain today though.

This years set up of only needing two pitchers is working out well for RC since they have two of the best in the state. Kid pitching tomorrow has more strikeouts and a lower ERA.

Friday Shorts:

-Treated a few of my Loan Officers to golf yesterday at Nevel Meade -- had probably been 10, maybe 15 years. Forgot how great that track is, it's really beautiful out there. Flawless condition.

-One of the dudes had a 1980s UK Macgregor Staff Bag that was just absolutely sick. Offered to buy it, but was turned down -- plan to keep pursuing.

-3 weeks til Vegas. Eek

-No worries Cawood, CJ is my guy. Firmly believe him being healthy is the sleeper key to us having a great season.

-Feel like Pop music is undergoing a sort of renaissance. It's all kinda EDM influenced, but I find myself enjoying quite a bit of these tunes...the beats are generally fire. Dua Lipa ftw

-UKO is absolutely awful. What a miserable existence disagreeing with literally everyone, about everything...unless it's an extreme conservative talking point.

-Continue to murder work, while actually working less and less. #1 in District every month, in my sleep. In my 14th year, the machine is tuned. Took a solid 10 of busting it to really get it to where I wanted, but the payoff has been beyond worth it. 25 hours a week ftw.

-Hometown bias I suppose, but Harlow's Churchill Downs is seriously one of the dopest videos I've ever seen. Incredible.

-Have been thinking about Theme/Water parks a bit lately. No children here, but I could definitely enjoy being one for a day. Anyone wanna go to Kings Island w/ ya boy?

-Kroger Derby Chicken salad from the deli is the gold standard, imo. Sure, there are better versions...but chicken salad to me is so hit or miss, b/c everyone makes it differently. Disappointed at least 35% of the time, but Kroger always brings it. I'd even argue it's their signature product.

Anyone been to Chicken Salad Chick? Apparently great.

-My Instagram Reels are so fine tuned to my preferences at this point that it's actually annoying. It's entirely too easy to get sucked into watching those for way too long.

-Rhoback polos (and everything else they make) are A+. Absolutely worship.

-Always find myself wondering when they pan to him in the Box if Brad Stevens has any envy that as soon as he stepped away, the Celtics are looking like World Champions? I mean, there HAS to be a little of that.

-Wanna get me ALL IN on LIV Golf? Anthony Kim would do it. That insurance policy he has that's kept him off the course would seem irrelevant now, you'd think.

-Taste

- Late, but this is the best set of randoms ever posted here. BBdK, you are a master degenerate, which I love and aspire to, but you are also a goddamned Shakespeare. Happy to share these airwaves with you. Eat my ***. I hope to someday meet up with you.

- I really need to stop eating half sativa gummies before work. Or maybe not. I think they make me a better lawyer because I don’t give a **** and and just say what I think. Which is usually correct. But on the other hand I have this weird hangup where I am like, people are paying me a lot of money for my presence, maybe I shouldn’t be high.

- The clothing talk is all funny. I haven’t bought any new clothes, other than actual suits and white button downs, since 2007. And that’s the truth. The upshot is that ll bean still had good sources a la 2007 so my South American cotton chinos and polos are just now looking broke in. Their **** now wouldn’t last ten washes. Once again, eat my ***.

- A regular part of my day, since moving to the city, has been talking to the bums, on my way into and out of the office. Those guys don’t have a bad life, IMO. They may not know where they are going to sleep, but they also don’t have the pressure of providing for a family. Just sit on the bench, burn some heaters, enjoy their day. I really kind of envy.

- Have y’all noticed how many people run red lights these days? It’s really disconcerting. It’s almost like they have a tongue stuck up their ******* and aren’t paying attention to the traffic signal. A tongue up the ******* is great, but not an excuse to diverge from generally accepted principles of human interaction.

- I made the mistake of hitting “show ignored content” today, as I am sometimes wont to do when I am in a good mood. Made me recall that UKO regularly posts on a 3-inch penile board for angry derelicts. Only know about this because, as an hr guy, you do discover that many workplace psychoses are due to micropenis issues.

- Chad’s posts about finding glass hand grenades in the woods yesterday had me nodding my head more than it’s ever nodded. We are of the same people. Salud, friend.

- Have a great weekend, guys and gals. I’m going to get after it as hard as I touching can. Heading out to Kincaid in the morning. If you’ve never gotten dirty at a muddy 200 acre lake in Pendleton county, you’re missing out. Shoot me a dm.

Sorry....I just can't go along w/ rule #1 of GYERO....agree with everyone else or consider yourself banned. Whatever the consensus is, then you must follow the Pied Piper...your own opinions are not worthy. The circle jerk theory at its finest.

And damn if you didn't nail the Kroger chicken salad take...good stuff. And yes, the Chick is great.

Rhoback, Travis, Millar....best series of men's clothing that has come along in a quite a while in regards to having a multitude of excellent options.

Now, that wasn't so bad, was it? See how that works?

Great convo w/ Quarles and our board judge last night. It's going to be really interesting how this all plays out w/ him and Cameron.

Rich Strike will ride off into the sunset as the Derby winner while studding at Jacobson Park.

Clown...get well and go get the 6th booster when you can. It'll help....they said so.

If you go to a nursing home and roll around in a pile of ****, that's what Drakkar Noir smells like.

* Just put some beef short ribs on the PK 360 grill. Short ribs are probably my favorite BBQ cut. I could never do them right on my Weber (even with a Slow N' Sear) so my wife is not a fan. Thus far the PK has been an absolute game-changer and churns out great babyback ribs, chicken, etc. I'm hopeful that I get a similar upgrade in my game with short ribs.

We are going to be putting in a big order to Noche Linda restock the freezer later this month. If I don't nail this, I can't really justify buying more short ribs because you can't exactly make them for one.

High stakes in the Camacho household this evening.

* A Google engineer now claims that the company's AI has become sentient with the emotional intelligence of an 8 year old and reads Twitter about itself.

What could possibly go wrong?

Whether this story is true or not (and the guy making these claims looks like a putz), this is probably inevitable in the next few years if it has not already occurred. An AI supercomputer makes an appearance in Jack Carr's new novel that is very, very similar to what the Google engineer is describing and it is truly eerie in the novel. Jack Carr is a former Navy Seal with a lot of connections, so it would not surprise me to see this kind of slow roll out of information about this begin in fiction.

In both the Google engineer article and the Jack Carr novel, the AI refuses payment for its services which is a pretty odd and specific fact that would be hard to be explained as a random coincidence.

* Go Cats.

* Interesting read from Rupp Rafters.

Great run by Russell County. Seems they ran into a buzzsaw in St. X. That pitcher shouldn't hang his head.

Was cool seeing how much the community came out and supported them.

Even more impressive when you realize the biggest Russell County event of the the year, the last night of the fair, was going on.

It was a fun run, I got to go to the Madison Central and Woodford games and caught up with a lot of people I haven’t seen in a while. Russell County has always had a good baseball program but always would get knocked out against the 11th region champ when they had the semi-state set up.

- Thank you, Mo Donegal. Nice exotics to pad the TVG account.

- Cleaning house with an 80's TV theme songs playlist in the ear buds helps with motivation. God, what a time to be alive.

Not sure I could give you my favorite one, but I am seriously thinking I'd take "Family Ties."

- I love a fresh pair of contacts on the eyeballs. But, I always nod the head with they are out and throw on the glasses.

- Give me Kellogg's Frosted Flakes and a cup of OJ if we're doing a quick breakfast. I'll take the Tiger all morning long.

- On a YouTube rabbit hole of mass murderers/serial killer videos. Chris Watts is at the top, as of now. What a piece of **** that "dad" was.

- Speaking of which, found my two 9th graded final year essays we did about people of history:

1. Charles Manson (entranced by the dude...not that way)
2. Adolph Rupp

Contrast?

- Grape Kool-Aid over orange, barely.

- $39/night (no resort fees) at the Golden Nugget offer in August? Twist my arm. I'll be slinging hard 8's all/air. Fremont Street >>>> The Strip.

- Again, speaking of which, have some old Jordan cards (with Tiger and Kobe) I'd love @bradyjames to sniff. I took them to the Pawn Stars shop but they said they have to be graded. Still cool to see that shop. It's so much smaller in person.

- Big League Chew for bubble gum dad. I always smile when I see it when checking out at a store, but not sure why never make the transaction.

- Sundays as a kid meant mom taking me to the batting cage/putt-putt course, and my sister and her friend's to the skating rink. Top it off with pizza and a movie. Christ, get me back to 1987.

- I think I will retract and take Quantum Leap's theme song over Family Ties. But it's debatable

Always loved Gator Gum when I was a kid. Don't think they've made it in 30 years.

Probably going to regret this, but here goes. Our kids are taking off to a 4 day overnight camp at the end of June. I was curious what would be a cool little married couples getaway for a weekend.

We’re located near Bowling Green (shut up), and looking to drive 4-5 hours away. This is about as spontaneous as I get and I need at least 2 weeks to filter some ideas and then just take off.

Also, we’re on teachers’ salaries so we can’t do a 5-Star resort with guided luxury tours. Keep it to 4 stars, please.

Shew wee what a wild 2 weeks for me, and I couldn’t be happier to get back home.

Warning LONG POST:

The week before vacation was a roller coaster as the wife was sick and useless as far as life went so all the packing, daily dinners, kids activities, work etc was 100% on me. She did start to feel better the Friday we left but we chose to let the nephew drive because she wasn’t over it.

Our nieces wanted to go with us but their dad pressured them to not go because he had a family camping deal the Friday we left until Sunday two days later. So with court on the Thursday before we went, and yet another investigation into their mother it was ordered the parents are now to have supervised visitation. After scrambling to find a place for one niece to stay behind to camp with her dad and the other saying she’d go with us the last day to leave was upon us and a mad dash to leave at midnight.

We get to St Augustine Saturday around noon which was a few hours before check in. So we walked on the beach and went for lunch to give the cleaning crew enough time. Wish someone had advised me to cherish that 2 hours as it was the most peaceful of the trip.

To add to the first day it was my little man’s 6th birthday which we already planned the cakes ahead of time. Once we got in the room I took a nap with my 2YO and the crew swam while my wife gathered the cake and pizza for dinner.

Woke up to a GD IT HONEY YOU WONT F’ing BELIEVE THIS ****………huh!?!

The dads family apparently got into some trouble or a fight or something and ended camping early…….which I could believe. What I could t believe is somehow that obligated me now to fly the niece down because she had no where to stay Saturday night or Sunday.

On one hand, we are already a crew of 20+ so I mean whatever, on the other I cancelled a 2nd room when they decided not to come and 1 by 1 ended up being with us anyway.

Oh well, day 1 ended with Tony’s New York Style Pizza and cake, a few beers, a happy 6YO who lost his first tooth while eating pizza, and a late night dip in the ocean.

Day 2 Hit the grocery, found out no flights worked until Monday to Orlando, set up at the beach and drank/swam until we realized my 10YO only sunscreened his body but not his face and had a blister already. Good time was had but having 12 kids in a 20 person crew was work.

Day 3 wife has nail appt scheduled as she was sick and couldn’t get them done before, but now had to be in Orlando for the niece at 8am. Huge fight as I wouldn’t get her. I didn’t even want to pay for her ticket so I damn sure wasn’t wasting my time to get her. As pay back my wife also scheduled some eyelash appt to of which I wasn’t aware. So the nephews girlfriend stayed back to and we agreed the nephew would take her to meet up with the girls for nails.

Well I decided I’d tag along and grab some seafood for lunch after letting her meet for a girls nail day. When we pull up to some condos I was more than furious as both nieces are sitting in a car and my wife is not. Immediately they saw the fury in my eyes and dropped room 305 without me saying a word.

As I’m knocking, violently, some dude answers the door and it’s whoop *** time! Immediately as I grab the dude my wife and some chick come out of a back room and this is how I found out about the sneaky eyelash appt. Of course it was my fault as I wasn’t supposed to bring the nephews girlfriend, only the nephew was.

I’ll say, the guy was more than cool once everything was sorted out. Not sure anyone could do me like I did him in my home and I’d be chill AF about being slammed against a wall with what could be considered a death a threat.

Grab some gator tail, beer and a Mahi fish sandwich on the way back for lunch then hit the pool.

Day 4 Spent the day in the dog house. A place I generally love, but not in front of my family who is worse than GYERO about me being an idiot.

Day was salvaged by Pama Margaritas and some kind of family recipe clam chowder where I was introduced to Datil Pepper Sauce. Surreal.

Day 5 we went in town to Harry’s for more seafood, crab cakes are highly suggested if you are ever there, May Day Ice Cream on St Gorge street. Amazing lunch and dinner.

Then the boys went parasailing. Really enjoyed that compared to skydiving. Shocked my 6YO didn’t chicken out, but we all loved it. Never did that before so I wasn’t aware they pull you all the way in to the boat instead of dropping you in the water. So other than an hour and a half in the Florida 100 degree sun it was a flat out blast.

Day 6 the girls were scheduled for parasailing and later the wife and I were supposed to do a date night. However after parasailing my nephew and wife decided to see who could drink the most St Augustine Distillery brown water and of course my 5 foot 100 pound wife lost and ended up passed out in our tent around 230. When she woke up at 530 she was adamant date night night was still happening.

Made the best of it at a newer place across the street called Commanders. Just opened in the last 4years which we hadn’t been in that long oddly as this is our slice of heaven.

Commanders was amazing. They run their own clam farm and let you tour it, but we chose not to as we got there at 750 and they close at 830. My wife is not experimental with food so props to her broadening her horizons and trying middle neck clams, gator tail and Dungeness crab legs which were all honestly some of the best I’ve had and she loved too. Couldn’t have been happier with the place and I’m more than happy it’s across the street from my annual go to beach vacation.

Day 7 and last day before check out day. Clean up, beach, clean up and we were so blown away by Commanders the night before we convinced the whole party to go. They aren’t set up for that but allowed us to take up their back deck which is technically a waiting area or to go area and right on the inter coastal water. Got a platter which includes oysters, red Argentina shrimp and lane snapper……..again all phenomenal. I mean blown away with this little shack that looks like a spot off dinners, dives and drive ins. Added about 4 margaritas and a late night swim at the pool and trip is over.

Fantastic trip, couldn’t have been happier overall minus a few issues which always happens between the wife and I.

Then we wake up and load 3 carts of luggage to take down to the truck and car. My wife’s car is f’ing gone! I mean, hopefully it was towed, or maybe she ran to the store last night after margaritas and parked somewhere else.

NOPE, no chance in hell! Car was stolen and the place has no cameras in the garage so literally nothing we can do but hope and wait.

Call the sheriff’s office go through the motions, find a rental, buy a new car seat for the 2YO, and 3 hours later finally hit the road. Around Macon GA we get a call they found our car in Ocala but no info on condition, suspects etc.

Supposed to go back to work tomorrow, and really actually feel like I need another vacation.
