Right now I could walk away with about a $400k profit on a home we bought just a few years ago. Very tempting but wife is dead set on staying and of course the “where are we going to live” debate. Heck, would go rent, wait for the impending bubble to burst and then go bargain shopping and pay straight cash for a home even nicer than the one we have now.

The rental market, at least in South Florida, is more nuts than the market to buy. Multiple people competing for each rental. Prices are inflated, people are offering more than monthly rent price (!), offering multiple months up front, putting money in escrow to have chance to negotiate, etc. It was already bad enough for “regular” folks to buy here, now just as hard to rent.

Received a complaint today that some hen was storing her fancy salad dressings in the mini fridge in the breast pumping room. It takes a real audacious ***** to do that.

As the guy kind of in charge of HR at the moment, I performed a management function and disposed of that *****’s salad dressings directly. And when she sends the inevitable office-wide email on Monday wondering what the hell happened to her salad dressings, she is going to receive a fresh reply all explaining the etiquette of the wellness rooms in stark terms.

A realtor called me today about our house that we just built and have been in for 3 months and asked if we’d sell. I gave him a 3x number thinking he’d tell me to “f off” to. He didn’t and seemed more interested.

Told the wife if they are willing to pay it, I’m retiring for the 2nd and final time.

Saw a gal pal today upload an entire catalog of her breastfeeding photography collection to social media today. BBC, but I had no idea breastfeeding pics were a thing.

I have long held that Physical Graffiti is the greatest rock album of all time. I will admit though that in my old age Exile on Main Street has me wondering.

Physical Graffiti carried all that volume of music and the band was clearly relaxed and comfortable and in total creative control

To have had all those “filler” songs on there that didn’t make the cut for one of the previous 3 albums but were high quality work....and then casually record a new set of songs that are largely live takes w/no complex layering tracks

it really is an amazing album

throw in the quality sound Page was able to capture at Headley Grange and The Black Dragon Suit — unique artwork

It was an amazing project -

About the only good thing about being an architect… My **** still looks fresh and futureproof.
Easy there, hop-along Peter Marino.

Does your basement bar still feature rusted corrugated metal panels, a bar top w/ 90° edges w/o drips or actual bar rail moulding, and a feature wall that would make stackedwoodwalls.com blush?

The bourbon collection is absolutely timeless and impressive but otherwise, who are we fooling here with these “futureproof” claims?

We spent a long, stressful year rebuilding our smug house and I’m getting unsolicited texts asking if we want to sell and I catch my wife looking at houses on Zillow every so often so yeah I grind my teeth when I “sleep”.

If it makes you feel better, we bought the house that maybe we shouldn’t have. Finished half the basement while getting a pool put in too. Then added landscaping because we couldn’t be the bums of the hood and just have the pool.

Then instead of normal fencing we had to have that fancy black fence, but I did get her to ok “just around the pool” for 4500. Then we have red clay for our dirt so we couldn’t just throw seed and hay down, no no no we needed sod to be able to have grass which finally came last week in time for the rain.

Now we can’t water this with sprinklers as it’s too much because we have the biggest lot in the hood. So we need irrigation, who in their evaluation tested our water pressure and it’s low so we need a booster too.

I only vent here, but this is real. Real f’ing life. Don’t be a sap like me because I did at least stand up against a $6500 screened patio, but we bought her “dream” and I’ve been improving it since we got it.

When I think “jazz” I think “Ricky Skaggs.” The spiritual descendant of John Coltrane.

i need to know what that means -

I have a feeling i’m missing something like a real fking gem nugget for musicians anyway

i hate country music but there IS a narrow slice of appalachian bluegrass & “outlaw country “ that i respect OR truly love — R Skaggs is one i really like ....feels like a hillbilly brother without ever having to meet him — love his style and KNOW i’d sound good with him

AND - i know NOTHING about J Coltrane

please follow up on this one when you can !

If we're just talking aesthetics, this Bucks Celts game is great. The court and both teams' unis are perfect. (The logo/ad stuff on the court and jerseys suck, but that just is what it is)
