RISK "is" a pretty awesome game. The problem is that one or more people invariably lose interest.

It's a two player game, but I have the greatest battle plan for Stratego ever devised.

(most people don't play Monopoly correctly ie. they don't hold an auction for a property that the person that landed on said property declines to purchase), you don't get the money for landing on Free Parking etc. )

-risk is the best of the common classics.

-card games: cribbage is goat. spades/hearts and canasta in the rotation.

-love backgammon. Wish I was better at chess...haven't spent enough time on it.

-I've tried a ton of the "new" games:

Hive is a fantastic "chess like" game.
Azul is awesome can be simple or complex depending on how you wanna play.
Ticket to ride is a good family game.
Alhambra, carcassonne and Catan are fun.

^those are easily found. Got a lot of nerdier/more complex games that I like but dont get to play often.

The nice thing about backgammon is that I can beat anyone! The bad thing about backgammon is that anyone can beat me! The great thing about backgammon is that it usually doesn't take very long to play a game!

Risk is the board game that causes intrafamily fist fights as the world domination sweeps across the map. Yurkutsk was always weak for the taking pivoting from Kamchatka.

Hot dice defense against a dwindling army… war crimes

Instant mood boost reading that

Risk ranks high among my family too

GREAT memories

This is the truth. The flow of that game is sublime.

I said a while back that I'm trying to learn contract bridge. Holy crap. In terms of difficulty, to play it at even a minimally competent level, is a tough row to hoe. It has no peer. Just learning how to bid correctly is pretty complex.

Somebody needs to make: GYERO the Board Game

Grumpy Chad just wants to hit the club. Back three spaces.

Draw a debate card: Topic - Topography of Cincy vs. Louisville

You landed at LaRosa's pizza, lose 3 turns

80 lands on "Knows the owner" move forward 10 spaces

Uh-oh, looks like you threw a beer through the flat screen TV - pay 600 dollars and go back 6 spaces.

Somebody took a dump in your sink and or crawl space - pay 200 dollars

You hit a parked car, mumbled something about a wedding and fled the scene - get out of jail free card.

and so on...

Cribbage is one of the GOAT’s, that for some reason I never think of. I once bought a vintage Cribbage scoring board at an auction, a great big wooden thing. No idea where it is now, think an old GF kept it for some reason. Regardless, love me some cribbage.

I'm sure most of you know this, but Monopoly was invented as a thought exercise, to demonstrate the evils of capitalism and private property ownership, by what was, more than likely, a far left wacko lesbian. (not that there is anything wrong with that)
A Lesbian from Atlantic City most likely.

As far as I know, Hall & Oates have “honorary black” status on The Groove on SiriusXM. Telling and well-deserved imo
Hall & Oates could have a death match with the Righteous Brothers for black women's panties, imo.

* My wife and I played monopoly a few times when we first started dating. She beat me the first two or three times so I memorized the expected value of every property on the board and read several books on strategy without her knowledge then waited until a dark winter night and asked if she wanted to play again. The beating I gave her was so savage she vowed never to play any board game with me again.

Always buy railroads and the orange and yellow properties.

* If you ever get a chance to do your town's citizen's police academy, you absolutely should. I did it with the Nicholasville Police and it was incredible how much work they put into it. Clown, you clearly have time on your hands, so here you go.

Friday Randoms...

- Hearts (which can sometimes get pretty heated), canasta, and rook for our family.

- Watched most of the non-TV masters coverage on their free app and had no issues at all. Wish they would have it all on TV but I can live with it.

- Started the Reds game last night and then remembered why I don't watch much baseball on TV...just a slow-moving sport. Love going to games but hard to watch. Made it to the top of the 3rd and then we watched "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Wife had never seen it. Had forgotten how much nudity was in that movie.

- Anxiously awaiting the O/U for the # of wins by the UK football team this year to be posted. Has been easy money for me the last couple of years. Hoping for a 7.5 line.

- Nothing more to add on UK bball/Cal. Forget who said it yday but agree with it always feeling like we are always a guard or 2 short. Hope Oscar comes back and despite his flaws, really want Wheeler back. He was more than fine for most of the season...just have to put a bunch of shooters around him (not confident).

- I started reading this page right before the 05 tournament. Has been a great source of entertainment for me over all those years, especially when I used to be on the road for work 80-100 days a year.

- Flight to CT this coming week for Easter. Ask the wife what to pack and her response was, "everything...Could be 20 and snow or could be 75 and sunny." Only took one year for me to say to her, "why are we traveling up north for holidays to be miserable cold when they can fly down here."

- Our mailbox finally suffered the fate of others on our street and was taken down by spring breakers. Maybe I'm old and just don't get it but is vandalism a thing now for high schoolers? We did a lot of stupid sh*t growing up but we never destroyed property.

- Friday 1: My Maria by Brooks & Dunn. Happy Friday!

Played a lot of hearts in college to the point we had a tournament, which we thought was a good idea. A keg was also a good idea which led to one fist fight, accusations of cheating, and no winner.

-This **** weather better at least kill the f*cking ginko berries.

-Police Academy franchise is amazing.

-No one cares that a government supported group, had an activist try to assassinate a political candidate, and that same group (with the use of celebratory, political, government, guilt ridden white people's funds) bailed the assassin out of jail. The don't care because they've all replaced the BLM signs in their front yards with yellow and blue flags. Granted most couldn't successfully identify Ukraine on a map.

-Dental Hygienist is from Belarus and she's a badass. If she's not there to do my cleanings I reschedule.

-Can't win em all if you don't win the first, Reds.

-Undecided on the pitch sign device. Although I feel like sign stealing is a part of the game. **** we were doing it in LL.
-Very decided on the ******** DH but I guess it's here to stay.
-In favor of the pitch clock. Speed that **** up.

-Still feel like I should catch Elton while he's close. After missing Prince at the Palace this feels like one I should make.

-Solid Spring Game crew coming together.

-College acquaintance was the innocent bystander that was killed in the So Indiana gas station shooting. Sounds like he was just grabbing a drink and walking back to his car. F*cking crazy.

-Turn on TV, selct ESPN+, Masters Live coverage with 4 different options. This is awful.

-Sheff vs Smith even odds is a fun bet.

Vandalism is major tenant of being a teenager. I would assume kids vandalize things MUCH LESS than we did growing up what with the cell phones and TikToks and Snapchats and such.
