Thought about this while trying to sleep. I think this is correct. Acts I and II fit nicely into sections of 6 seasons each.

Act I - 2009-2015:
Meteoric Rise / Coronation / Stumble at the Doorstep of Immortality

Act II - 2015-2021:
Struggle to Maintain the Same Level of Greatness / Treading Water / Unprecedented Collapse and Rock Bottom.

Act III - 2021 -??:
Rebirth / Rising from the Ashes to an Entirely New Landscape / ???

However long Act III lasts, I think it's going to end really, really well.

/Movie.

I read that and wished i knew more about what the Effety-Eff was being discussed

2on2 bball tourney, draw names randomly. That would be an easy event to organize. And it's the sport most discussed here. Seems only right we should all see who can play and who cannot.
Bball is truly a young man's game. Even just playing half court, that **** would be ugly by the final. Some people would surely get injured, but aside from that, it'd be hilarious. If it happens, I'll drive up to watch and donate.

Vern we're in our late 30's and 40's no one really cares who's the best at 2 on 2 basketball anymore.

Now seeing someone shoot 3's, throw a football, sprint 50 yards, try to get closest to the pin half buzzed sound like a blast.

I tore my mcl in a squat rack back in 2017. I developed a gnarly back injury around 2020. Father time is undefeated. Knock yourself out playing basketball. I'm an old ***** and sorry for it. I'll cut a check though.

EDIT: I realize no one gives a ****, but basketball might be the riskiest sport outside of CTE tackle football.

I'm really good at hooping, but according to draftkings and Vegas, I don't know ****. Disregard my bball takes despite my jumper.

The original intention of the GYEROlympics was to have 10 events that were evenly split between "skill" and "fitness."

Skill --> free throws, closest to the pin, etc
Fitness --> 1-mile run, push-ups, etc

We didn't want some fatneck winning because he scooped up all the skill events, nor did we want some uncoordinated meathead doing the same on the fitness events. I suppose you could tweak that a little as the key players have aged, but I would insist on any similar event going forward maintaining a commitment to showcasing BOTH athletes' skills and their physical ability, in order to determine the "best overall athlete." If you will.

And we're drug testing this time. So Bonzo is F'd.

Bonz and KGar won. I'd say it was split pretty well. The most in shape and a college athlete.

Just a reminder I was top 5 both years. Leap frogged Geese the first year on the last event when he choked playing cornhole.

- Free throw competition. Chipping/putting. Horseshoes. Few frames of bowling. Pick your poison on a couple age appropriate exercise events.

- A decade ago doping was frowned upon. Now you have it sold openly on every sports talk radio show and televised athletic event. Seems it's almost a requirement to enter the games this time around.

- 12 hours until we finally see the end of a boring *** UVA game switch over to our tilt

If we want to do putting at the local Mini Golf place housed on Grandad’s Cough Medicine I’ll just take my victory lap now.

- 50-50 skill and fitness is the move, because people like me will smoke everyone on the Feats of Strength. However, I am good at the Feats of Strength because I was tragically born without any hand-eye coordination. I am a DISASTER at anything requiring aim. I have one setting, and it is THROW/HIT/SWING THE THING AS HARD AS POSSIBLE. Embarrassing.

- 9 pm tipoffs should be illegal. Screw Central Time/the West Coast/whatever.

- While Heritage Bank Center desperately needs an update, I had an absolute blast at my first concert since the 'rona. I saw the headliner years ago at the Palace, and they were great then--but the crowd on Saturday was hungry for a show and the bands really delivered. Trying to arrange Steely Dan at Riverfront tickets because I never want to take live music for granted ever again.

👆👆👆 was runner up the inaugural GYEROlympics in 2011 barely getting edged out by Bonz in total points. It came down to cornhole.

You could argue his gold medal should be stripped due to PED thus making me the champion but GYERO brass didn’t have the balls at the time to call Bonz out since he was hosting all of us degenerates at The Nation.

-i miss my old man basketball stuff. But tennis has been a fantastic replacement. Highly recommended to folks that like to play sports/compete and wanna stay active as they age. USTA and affiliates are very welcoming to beginners. As a bonus: gals in tennis skirts.

-I'll get roasted...but pickle ball is fun as hell and it keeps you moving.

I’m retired from all athletic endeavors besides exercise- explicitly for the sake of health and vanity

Regards,

Toddler Dad who saw a chiropractor yesterday
Smart man. I’m currently rehabbing from major shoulder surgery, despite having not played sports competitively in 20 years. It’s a *****.

The game doesn't ever start at 9, there are invariably 27,000 fouls called in the last 5 minutes of the game extending the end to 11:30 or later, and then I'm all wound up because a) redass or b) WOOOO CAYTS, so I'm not sleeping til way later. NCAA tourney is one thing, and I don't care to be up late for that, but for a SEC West rockfest in January/February? Awful.

Can the big bad body builder not operate on 7 hours of sleep?

I choked big time.

Was in 1st place coming back to the Nation. Struggled at push-ups/pull-ups, but the cornhole collapse sealed my fate.

Played not-to-lose and dribbled the air out of the ball.

Neither do I. I'm just curious who's awful so I can disregard their bball input in the future.
