I almost texted Matt to fill him in on fennel but I had already bugged him about the kid/snow day thing so I didn’t wanna push it.

Probably need a little more hype for this Mike Stoops hire. He was deservedly fired at Arizona, but he actually had a very solid 5-year stretch as head coach there, and is still pretty highly regarded. Most importantly, though, it certainly sends a signal that Mark is committed to Lexington. It would also be a HUGE bonus if Mike could rehab his image enough to the point he can land another head coaching gig, which I think is very possible.
For those of us being me, what did Mike do to deserve getting fired at zona? All I remember is Arizona is Kansas level of a dumpster fire football program and he took them to 3 consecutive bowl games landing some top 25 recruiting classes.

Sounds similar to the lil bro here yet he got fired.

I successfully conned my wife into letting us redshirt our 10yo at school. Gonna let him do 5th grade again next year. She was worried i just wanted to do it for sports. Had to really work the whole “it’s just for his social development” angle hard and she finally caved. But I was lying it was 100% for sports

I also successfully stopped a “pay it forward” line at the McDonald’s drive thru this morning. Oh, the guy ahead of me paid for my $2.12 iced coffee?? Nice thanks *skrt skrt* Those things are ******** and I refuse to participate any longer. If you’re at the drive thru you have the money to pay for your meal, otherwise you’d just drive off! And you aren’t getting anything free bc they expect you to pay for the person behind you??? So what’s the f*cking point????? No more!!

big week so far for ol b rax

- I mean, F these “pay it forward” people (no offense, Llama). I’m with you, BRax. Reminds me of my annoyance with tapas restaurants. How about I just order what I want to eat? You eat what you order. I don’t care about The Table.

- Regarding redshirts for sports, I mean the Harbors did it and they seemed like a pretty solid family.

- Sorry- maybe it’s the result of too many road whammies but I think tonight’s going to be a lot tougher than people think. These weirdo Aggies are going to be all hopped up on adrenaline from their #1 football recruiting class and going bonkers with their yells and whatnot. Let’s just get out of Texas with a dub and turn our attention to Auburn.

I definitely hate A&M fans but don’t know if it’s more like the hate I have for other SEC West teams or on par with Vanderbilt- the conference weirdos.

I gotta think it was weird for those kids who came back for an extra year of HS this year after most of not all of their friends graduated. Just seems like it’s be awkward.

Speaking of Texas, the Great Robert Earl Keen retiring from live performances is a bummer, but I get it. Seems he's in great health and just decided to hang it up while he was still on top. Good for him. I bet he'll be back, though.

Big Aggies fan. They honored him at the UK football game a few years ago, and had I known that was happening I'd have been there. But, I've seen him more times than I can remember, and at various times in my life and in even more random venues. A couple Nashville bars in college, Jim Porter's (RIP), Madison Theater, Brown Theater, among a few others. Pretty sure my daughter was conceived in Covington after the Madison Theater show.

Like a whole bunch of others, he's been my guy since I was fatefully introduced to No. 2 Live Dinner at the age of 15. I met him once at The Brown Hotel after his appearance with Lyle Lovett. I had gotten pretty loose before and during the show, and I told him his music had changed my life. He then asked me how, and I had no good answer whatsoever. Just mumbled something completely ridiculous and he soon moved on.

Maybe he never changed my life, but he's certainly been around for most of it.

You and bellydancer were pissed when we all went to that little tapas place in downtown Cincy & didn't get any of the food that you ordered. Joe had me in tears. "What do you mean you gave it to the table? If I order food at Waffle House or Cracker Barrel, I get to eat what I ordered."

We'll have to do another Reds game/dinner/karaoke night this year. That was fun.

Savage color combo right here.

The Bengals couldn't have gotten a better matchup, imo. Yea, they beat the Chiefs this year...doubt they do it again. Bills, no chance in hell. Titans? Why not. They aren't what they used to be, you can score bunches on their defense. LFG!

Jesus Eisenhower DeSilva Jones — What the hell. is wrong with the Bengals’ uniform czar? or committee or suggestion box — or whatever they’re using ???

I want to like them more than i do cause Pittsburgh/Cincinnati is a very good rivalry

They’ve had FAR more meaningful games (playoffs and regular season) against one another since the 70s .....than The Steelers have EVER had with Cleveland

More than the Ravens obviously as well cause they’re younger ....

Cincy should have a Kenny Anderson retro mid 80s look -

Sorry - i know no one cares but ...it’s like Tourette’s with me and some things

???? I've only started one of those things once in my entire life. And only found myself in one of them maybe 3-4 other times, max.

You make it so easy to keep hating you.

REK has been on steady rotation in my catalog for decades as well. A rare combination of skill at both writing and performing good music.

I've only seen him a few times live, but I greatly enjoyed each one. Best is an all time top album for me.

Mike Stoops looks like Mark Stoops wearing a mask of himself.

Who are they naming the court after tonight?

I guess the pay it forward thing stopped with me the couple of times it happened because of ignorance. I had no clue I was "supposed" to get the car behind me and was like "thanks bye!"

Finally sat down and watched the Eternals. Marvel whiffed on that one. It was like the anti-Guardians of the Galaxy.

Worried about the game because **** happens on the road except for Kansas in the Big 12 where teams hand them wins like candy.

I finally watched it the other night, too. I was pleasantly surprised because I had heard how bad it was.

It certainly wasn't a masterpiece, but I thought it was watchable.

The girls and I also watched the latest Ghostbusters movie and really enjoyed it.

Our whiskey Charity had a concert this fall and REK was the headliner…but he had to cancel. Damn, maybe it would have changed my life.

Having a kid certainly has. It’s so true the Nonbreeders have no idea. Buy the ticket, take the ride. Mine is 11 months now, on the verge of walking…but coming up with new tricks everyday. For example, this afternoon he decided to stand up and play in the toilet (was flushed), pull the levers on the water cooler creating a nice river in the kitchen, and display his climbing skills up half the flight of stairs before wife could open the door and get package off the steps…

But yeah the biggest change is the loss of personal time…pretty much a 6am-9pm shift for dad. Clearing out space just so you can do things you used to take for granted…and that’s playing zone, can’t comprehend what you multiples go through. Need to find some sitters outside of immediate family as well.

Remeber the Chad/Burgan tapas evening well…lol. Can’t even imagine his reaction to a Ruby’s dinner. And yes, second that night needs a repeat this summer too.

Hope Sloot enjoys her 2-5” tonight, congrats on the sex Tony the Pony.

- I think SAE mentioned enjoying Dawn FM last week. I've had it on repeat for a solid week and a half--by far The Weeknd's most complete album and his strongest effort as a whole. The Gasoline - How Do I Make You Love Me - Take My Breath - Sacrifice run in the front half is NASTY.
Not feeling it so far. Not nearly as good as After Hours or his early stuff. It might be because I'm an 80's kid, and the tracks you mention are reminiscent of The Human League and other 80's synth pop. Probably why my wife likes it so much since she's stuck in that decade musically.

A good way of avoiding the “pay it forward” fiasco is to avoid drive throughs. (A) It’s bad for you; (B) it’s horribly cost ineffective when extrapolated across a long timeline; and (C) you’re boxed in and a sitting duck for a Russian assassin to jump out from behind the bushes and cut your head off.

- At Ruby’s, I order and eat for myself besides sharing some mashed tater or mac’n’cheese so I’m good. Tapas sucks.

- Good gawd wasn’t trying to be annoying parent earlier, was talking solely about the lack of free time. 🙏🏻

Realized all the Rex Chapman threads were gone this morning when I breezed through the HOB and Paddock. I guess that is now an off limit subject on Catpaw.
