Their head coach looks like Pete Butt, too. Odd looking football coach. Probably from the Sean McVay tree. Raiders coach looks legit, strong grey old man goatee.

Idk about this Bengals game. I mean, I know, but I don’t wanna know. It’s possible? Lol.

Raiders kicker is dead nuts reliable, and Bengals is not. Maxx Crosby is meth on steroids. Bengals better team on paper. LFG. This is football country.

Staley's a new wave guy from McVay's tree. The decision to go for it on his own 18 early in the 2nd half and then having it stuffed changed the dynamic.

I was 100% convinced there was a conspiracy to have the game end in a tie but then I remembered that Pittsburgh polls better than the Chargers (poor guys never have home field anymore) and weren't going to be allowed to have that as an option. Lot of shakey calls in the game, for sure.

-So happy for Monk. Man, what a damn tear he's on. "Los Angeles Lakers guard Malik Monk is currently more valuable than every single player in the NBA based on his salary this season. Monk is getting paid the league minimum to jumpstart one of the NBA’s worst offenses (23rd in offensive rating!)."

Just goes to show how important it is for these young guys to land in a good spot.

-Sing 2 was fantastic.

-Meh, we're going to discuss politics in here from time to time. It's one of our interest. It typically stays pretty civil. Don't like it, skip over it. I don't read half the posts in this thread anyway because there's so much trash these days.

-Leonhardt continues to kill it. What about old Anth loving something about the NYT? Also love their cooking stuff.

-This team perplexes me a bit. We've stumbled in our only 3 tests but murked everyone else. Have 2 guys on historic pace for rebounds and assists, both are strong candidates for CPOY and AA lists. Then Washington and Grady who have shown flashes of greatness. Yet, feels like we're on a tiny margin of error. 4 top 20 teams in the next 4 weekends. Need to stay healthy and get that seed line up.

-Regular season NFL is mostly just good background noise, but I love the playoffs. GPG.

-1990 L'Encantada Armagnac 😲 Man oh man that's some good ****.

Spent the weekend at Dale Hollow catching trophy smallmouth in the snow. Had the lake to ourselves other than the wildlife. Pretty awesome time.

Tom Crean is such an awkward jackass. Someone should have smacked him in the back of the head for grabbing Wheeler's neck like that.
Ned time you’re down at the states greatest lake let me know I’ll buy you a beer

-bowl games are meaningless guy is *the worst*. Usually middle aged or older/outta shape never competed at a highish level/ won ****. I mean who the hell doesn't want more CFB?

-same demographic assumption applies to "participation trophy hating guy"...we got participation trophies in the late 70's and 80's...they were tiny and they sucked when compared to the trophies i got for winning stuff, but it aint some new thing.

Saw it mentioned somewhere, but Stoops best way to deal with his bum/young secondary pieces would be to load up the front seven again. Seems to be headed that direction.

Square coming back, another leap from Weaver, and we will be on one.

Agree with Anth on the bball team, but you look around and there are not many big road wins happening out there. Well other than Miami on Saturday :)

Agree. And for the players, they want to play until you tell them they can't, or.....not in their best interests to play. So, it does mean something.

Not a fan of Indy as a host city for the CFB championship, but whatever. A friend reminded me that the Final Four was in New Orleans this year, though. Adds a little more pressure to get there IMO.

I did see where my girls Kaitlan Collins made it to St. Elmo's last night. I am a fan of hers. Big Lady Mary vibes.

* Masking has and always will be the most ridiculous process of the neverending pandemic. I have a business degree, basic common sense, and the ability to use a search engine, so here's what I know about masks.....

- cloth, bandanas, clear face shields, and neck gaiters have never worked. because science. there's a reason your surgeon doesn't wear them.
- n-95s (which, fyi the vaunted cdc urges ordinary humans NOT to wear CLICK HERE) and tri-fold surgical masks work very well, but only when worn properly. because science. unless you're following all proper procedures in wearing these, you're not doing it right. FYI: if you have either of these, you're not doing it right. unless you properly fit them over your freshly shaved face and change them out frequently. which you don't.

If you're so gd concerned, then YOU wear one. Quit worrying about me.

* While we're at it, here's some great guidance from the vaunted CDC on wearing protective rubber gloves:

So the next time you walk into Subway and the toothless high school dropout making your footlong is behind the plexiglass wiping his nose, handling cash, swiping his Cricket phone, pushing his greasy *** hair back behind his dirty ears, and sneezing into his clenched fist, just remember.....

GLOVE UP! SAVE LIVES! GLOVES WORK!

* There is no more pointless business transaction in the United States than the notary signature. I think the last step before you're approved for your stamp is to insist on protecting that baby like you've got the nuclear launch codes.

* Sold a car, and now we're down to a 1-vehicle family. Just let go of a 10 year-old Honda Civic with no a/c and the front bumper falling off. 5 1/2 years and 80,000 miles and the thing dropped $4200 in value. Very happy with that transaction.

* Bowl games are very much on a case-by-case basis. The '06 Music City Bowl is one of the most hyped UK sporting events of my lifetime, whereas the '11 BBBBBBBVA Compass Bowl in Joker's second year seemed more like a nuisance. We've been very fortunate in this most recent history ('06-present) that most of our bowl games were wins and most of them were very warmly received by the fans.

* I guess it's a state-by-state deal, but I've gotten two oil changes this week.

- $85
- 1+ hour
- required to get out of your car and sit in the waiting room

Like what in the actual F. This isn't communist China. Get me in and out in minutes, and I want to sit in the car the entire < 10-minute process.

* Klay Thompson makes a lot of money so he's never allowed to complain about anything ever for any reason imho.

* I know hipsters take a lot of heat here in GYERO, but I'll always support their dirty little community.

- coffee shops
- book stores
- breweries
- gentrification

Big fan. They do way more good than harm.

It's been a strange season, and perhaps it's because our team thus far hasn't been a top-5 squad, but.....

- Oscar should be getting tons of National POY hype
- Saw-veey-yay is 3rd in the nation in assists/game, with only 2 mid-major guys ahead of him
- TyTy is having a freshman season right on par with almost anyone in the Cal era

That's 3 individual players who are putting up huge performances without a ton of hype. We start winning some of these big games and move up in the polls and that changes overnight. It's a shame that's how it always shakes out, but so many of the awards start simply by looking at the top 5-10 teams.

- Thanks, PTI - hadn’t gotten enough COVID talk these past two years.

- Washington needs to shoot more 3s and step up in big games, but he’s been pretty solid.

- Pretty big Saturday with BIg Blue hosting Tennessee at 1pm, and Bengals-Raiders in Paul Brown late afternoon.

- With Clark, I think Georgia breaks through on the the power of “it’s hard to beat a team like that twice.” Low-confidence pick.
