I've never really paid attention to "thread views" until I was looking at my floundering disc golf thread today. GYERO has 15 million views!?!

That is right around 3 million views a year since site relaunch. Cats paws should cut a check to the originals. Someone could create a site just for this thread and make some serious ad revenue. I knew it was popular, but holy ****.

Now I'm just confused. And no one else in this neighborhood is as clever as me to post that original comment.
-As soon as I read the first sentence I knew where you were going. One of my favorite quotes from that movie

NYE randos

-seemed like the way UK/Cal handled the HP game, and all that went with it, was top notch. Listening to Cal and Tubby postgame was really nice. Cal really “gets” that part of what the program is about.

-granddaughter has been staying the night with us on New Year’s Eve for the last 7 years. We’ve started a tradition of taco’s for dinner, her favorite. This year I walked her through the entire cook, right down to chopping the onions.

-The first 3 we convinced her that NY’s was at 9:00. The next 2 we waited until 11:00, flipped it over to NBC just as the ball was dropping in NYC. The last two she caught on. Damn smart watches. The lass fell asleep early and around 10:30 I heard footsteps headed toward the living room. Little lass and I watched Jesse until it was time. She had a shot of apple juice and I had a Maker’s 46

NY’s Day Randos

-we made pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Finally convinced little lass to try peanut butter on her pancakes. She’s hooked.

-4 straight bowl wins, first class ever to make that statement. Let that sit in a minute. Typical Piglet victory, too. Screw around and leave points on the board, get behind, D makes 2 big stops and win going down the stretch.

I know there were plenty of the “faithful” that just new we would lose in typical UK fashion. I, however, would say that Stoops has erased that mentality, at least as far as the players are concerned. It’s truly amazing just how much he and Vince have changed the culture around here.

-went to my first Catholic Mass Saturday night for little lasses baptism. Not much on the whole religious thing but I will say you Catholics put on a good show, and I say that with nothing but respect.

Ended the night hanging out with her Catholic side of the family, always a blast. More wine and bourbon than Liquor Barn. At some point a half gallon of Peach Moonshine was being passed around. One of her uncles asked me if I wanted a Bud Light, which I politely refused because I had already had my fair share of brown water. He said, “fine I’ll just give it to the little lass, she’s Catholic now”. Love those guys.

anyone here have bad neighbor issues they’ve had to deal with directly?

the building next to us is an
apartment bldg and the new ppl are violent drunks + at least one cincinnati bearcat fan

there’s been a couple of nights of them screaming back and forth - but 2 nights ago (as i was out of town) ....my wife recorded one dude cussing his dog and telling it “i’m going to FKing HURT you!”...

he then beat the dog down and made it yelp etc - my wife yelled at Mr Strong and told him to stop — he sailed something like “shut up biyyyatch”

SO - she wants me to ignore them

but my Genes tell me to go have a talk with this gash of a water head

shes reporting the dog beating to the county attorney (?) - think that may = loss of dogs and then - his crooked little heart would turn on us surely

thoughts?

This has been bandied about for like a decade and a half. It’s collecting dust on a shelf along with BarYRO and a couple others.

This is redundant if you ask me…Cincy sports fans have had to be violent drunks for decades now, all that losing and being terrible at life and all, they have to cope somehow.

There’s no evidence outside of cartoons that monkeys make suitable house pets. They are terrifying creatures.

Trade that stupid redneck the monkey for his dog. He’ll probably think it’s awesome. When he finds out monkeys suck, he’ll attempt to beat that monkey, and the monkey will kill his stupid ***.

-Good news, folks. We get to do it all over again. Worship the new year and having it all out in front of you to try again. It's a good life.

-Easily the most incredible bowl win of the Stoops era. What a great bunch of kids and culture. Winners, damn it.

I have long ago put to bed the "old Kentucky - here we go again" mentality, and that was evident again for me late when I had some doubts about being able to go down, score, and then keep them out of the end zone. Pretty rational football take there, and not some HERE COMES SATAN AGAIN self-fulfilling prophecy. I wish some UK media types would learn to discern the two.

-Christmas decorations can GTFO. We're 90% complete. Nice to see our home again, as it should be.

-Spring semester gave Fall semester all it wanted, IMO. I always did better academically in the spring because my early focus wasn't impeded by football games, tailgates, warm weather, etc. Dominate the first couple months, build a nice grade cushion, hit cruise control by Spring Break/March Madness. Only complaint was it was nearly over by the time that Keeneland meet/warm weather hit full stride.

-If you didn't take advantage of Two Keys winter Friday nights, then I'm sorry. It basically became a dive bar with very agreeable amount of patrons and stealth groups of coeds. Fun, fun nights, man.

-Bean soup yesterday. 6 hours in the crockpot. Sausage and smoked ham. Chicken drippings. Will be even better today at lunch.

-Breaking up with my bookie and going the Bovada route. Primarily I'd rather play with cash than on the come, but tired of limited wagering opportunities. I mean I get it from his perspective, but seems there's a better product out there for the consumer at this point.

-Wan'dale is the best UK wide receiver of my lifetime. Holy ****.

-Seems the Iowa folks were good? Haven't seen anything to the contrary online. I really was hoping so because I thought they did some cool stuff for the tornado relief, and obviously with the Stoops connection. Wouldn't mind an informal Big Ten ally tbh. They make sense to me as we don't really cross paths or compete with each other otherwise. The rest of that conference can get pumped, of course.

-Nobody in the SEC wanted us to go 40-0 in 2015. They aren't happy for us to finally have a football program. These people aren't our friends. F Bama and F UGA.

-Seems our basketball program no longer receives the benefit of the doubt with the pollsters. Still outside of the top 10? Fine by me. Let's roll LSU just the same.

-They were talking about Jeff Brohm/Purdue and all of the energy around town during their game with UT this morning on the Deener Show. Weird, weird people, man.

-Saints was a UK bar Saturday afternoon. All blue, CATS cheers, lassies not stressed or angry. Great watching with richie. I'll be back for the next big (weekend) basketball game.

-"2020 too" /rolleyes /sickface

-Eat a Peach on repeat this week. Positivity is the way in winter.

-Hate the Bengals, but what a duo, Borrow and Chase are outstanding. Chase yesterday, good lord.

-The Tubby event looked awesome. How was the crowd?

-Would love to play Gonzaga but we have to figure UL out. Can't let those little bitches off.

-Brown has to be insane. No rational person behaves like that. Hopefully he's just a prima donna ***** and not actually sick.

-Quick down back for the game. Great to hang with the crew. Unfortunately, the grandparents couldn't make the trip so we had to fold up early with G. Was asleep by 11p. Tried to make it but little dude was toast.

-Thought the game was over in the 4th Qtr. Our D was DONE, essentially scout team out there, they had all the momentum, Horsey let Levis get sacked like 10 times. We were about 1 play from bolting out to beat traffic. Stuck it out and ended up pacing and standing outside the club with about 20 other fans in the same mindset. Nervously watched and celebrated with a few old dudes I'd never met. Those are just the best times.

-Iowa folks were a good lot. Didn't see much jawing, they had a ton of people there, we actually stayed in their hotel.

-Robinson just taking over that game was unreal. CRod redeeming himself for an up and down year. Square sealing the game after barely being able to walk. Sumrall pouring his heart out. Chris Oats crying on the sideline. What a way to finish, unbelievable.

-The south got snow before us. Bitches.

-Those Trader Joe dark chocolate peanut butter cups are the best candy. They're unreal.

-Time to buckle down, ramp up the workout intensity, and clean up the diet.

-Good read from Leonhardt in the NYT on the state of Covid. Surprised they allow him to follow the twitter data guys but it's obvious that's who he's listening to these days. The Morning Update out here truthing.

-Robert Malone, one of the inventors of the mRNA vaccines is now banned on Twitter and Linkdn for being antivax. 🤣 Some of those, I get, Berenson is crazy, maybe he's right about some stuff, but he's wild. This guy though? Not sure how you can argue he's spreading misinformation when he invented the ****. He's on Rogan this week, worth a listen.

-For Ursch 😲

Granted we stayed at the team hotel (Hyatt) but their turnout was massive. Looked like a 55/45 split in the stadium with blue barely edging out bumble bee colors.

Super nice midwestern folk. Nothing flashy, nothing obnoxious about them. All cordial and accommodating. Essentially the fan embodiment of vanilla ice cream.

Worst moments of the Citrus Bowl:

1> when that big guy from Iowa got up in our players face and was taunting him
2> when the other teams band started playing like really loudly right when we did something good
3> when they made a good play and were being totally classless and celebrating like a bunch of jerks
4> when the fans next to us kept looking over and making fun of us when their team played well
5> when the game was over and our team was shaking everyone's hand but their team was being mean

I mean Cummings was legitimately injured. Writhing in pain on the field when Lil John came on and the place went nuts. Slightly different than a player sitting 90 degrees in the middle of a rhythmic offensive drive down the field.

Also, Cummings is my boy.

It will make you happy that I’m using my off day (NYE observed is today instead of Friday for some odd corporate reason) to take down Christmas decorations, SAE.

Our return to work was tomorrow, but corporate has pushed it back to 1/24.

- Has Indiana really not been to the NCAA Tournament since 2016?

- Those Zac Taylor calls - some of the few times I’ve ever been completely flabbergasted in my life. Glad it worked out but I was losing my mind.

- D-Day. Trying to get 6 adults and a child home from San Francisco. Already dealing with cancellations and delays. If only someone had mentioned traveling across the country with a toddler at Chrisrmas time during a pandemic was F’ing INSANE beforehand. Oh I did say that. Wish me luck.

Crowd at the Tubby game was great. Actually about 3/4 full even with the bowl game. Everyone stood and cheered as he walked in, he shook everyone on the scorers tables hands and then everyone stood while he spoke his usual classy takes on being the head coach at UK. Rousing applause afterwards. Good clean fun that game.
