- Don't know what to make of that Robic news. It could be a firing or just a contract non-renewal, but...man, 20 some years with Cal and then just being shoved out the door seems odd. He was pushed into an admin-only role last summer, but it still feels a little strange.

- My mom is level 27 anxious about covid and keeps texting my brother and I about "being really careful" this week leading up to our visit for Christmas. I'm double vaxxed, I'll be triple vaxxed tomorrow. I can't prevent other people from breathing in my presence, mom. Covid is endemic at this point, and we're seeing a seasonal spike just like we see with other viruses. This shouldn't be surprising or all that alarming at this point. I resent the guilt trips--from mom and from government officials--about it being entirely on me to avoid the Rona. I can't control other people, and even other people being proactive about testing/blah blah isn't a guarantee that they won't pick a case of the Omarion and spread it to unsuspecting coworkers/etc. I did the most effective thing we have at this point to avoid catching/spreading it. I'm done. I'm not going to waste my life stressing over every new GD pokemon card variant that comes out. Remember when we were worried covid wouldn't be gone by summer 2020? ugh.

On the flip side, shout out to covid, as it has ensured a deposition tomorrow will be by Zoom so I don't have to go to where the deponent is, aka county jail. God bless remote work for now and all time.

- I wouldn't have opposed another UNC game as a sub for Chris Mack's Pestilence Squad, but a game with Western #forthestate is pretty damn cool. From a basketball perspective...I'd have rather played UofL, but oh well, if Cal is a jabroni this game, at least it's for charity? Patrick Sparks, please don't walk through that door.

- I was trying to figure out Levis' age to determine how many years prior to him being in utero Terminator released, and found this gem on his UK athletics page: "After football, his dream job is to be stay-at-home dad with a wife who earns six figures" 😆 atta boy.

Vegas Shorts:

-REALLY needed that game, I mean damn. Feels like I've been traveling around to these games for years at this point without a feel good win like that.

-$18 ticket, sat lower, and ultimately ended up in Bud Light lounge. Can't beat that.

-Couldn't get over Wheeler. Having surely read/heard all the questions about him the week leading up after ND, to come out like that...shew. One of the more dominating single-game PG performances we've had around here imo.

-Typically grab dinner/bed after the game on the final night, but vibes were too strong. Ended up at a Blackjack Table for just shy of 7 hours...finally making it to bed at 5am EST. $50 8-deck....wayyyy out of my comfort zone, but walked out +$3500 on the session, easily my biggest payday. My buddy Harmon was alongside - no telling what he won, but easily 3-4x what I did. Great times.

-Didn't wear mask the entire trip, despite being required, unless at a table, walking in a door, or on the airplane -- didn't even wear it inside the airport. Never got reprimanded a single time. People are just done, as they should be.

-Ran into Devin Askew on the walk back from the game. Gave me the wink and the gun and said he'd always be a wildcat.

-Spa Thursday & Sunday. 💁‍♂️

-Ready for the light work week, Christmas, and then Bowl Game/NYE with my long lost Wildcat Friends.

🎅

The Robic thing has been going on for years. How many times has his title changed in the last 5 years?

Seems like Robic has been treated well by Cal. Unless he is in this spot just until his contract runs out, he could have it pretty easy winding down his career. He's done the head coach thing, assume the ship has sailed on other opportunities. Kids have graduated UK, without him having to pay a penny I assume. He's probably in a good spot in life.

But Robes was the progenitor of the “Go!” Offense… but apparently he himself wasn’t allowed to screech it incessantly during the games because of some rules or some ****.

Have noticed Richie uses 'bald' for a blast pretty much any time he can work it in.

Be careful with that karma doggy -- couldn't help but notice you started randomly wearing a goofy looking hat for most of your public appearances in 2021. 👀
No balding here, bub.

I have thin, fine dark hair with grey sides, which the Lass loves. Even at the age of 42 the hair doesn’t appear to be going anywhere.

Don’t hold your breath for me joining the Telly Savalas club anytime soon.

I feel bad for what he’s gone through personally, seems like a great dude.

But professionally he was allowed to sit in a chair beside Cal, doing basically nothing on or off the court (compared to your average assistant) for 25 years making hundreds of thousands per…

Always categorized him as the basketball version of the mysterious “consultant”.

I’ve watched every highlight & montage 50x. Watched basically the entire Sunday Round.

Some of the must fun I’ve had watching sports tbh.

Sometimes something is just SO GOOD that all you can do is laugh…which the announcers were doing all day, as was I.

Just unreal.

^ killed me…

But this is easily my fav singular moment 😭😍

Had this “males in female sports” convo with SAE last year, and of course he was all for it. “Dude, I couldn’t care less. Good for them. “

A lot of “progressives” share this sentiment…until their daughters are being dominated/cheated from their athletic achievements…as we are starting to see now as it becomes more prevalent.

I honestly can’t wait until some 6’8 freak baller decides he’s a woman and makes a mockery of basketball, like the Penn swimmer is doing, only on a much larger scale. Hopefully, the Olympics at some point.

Anyone on board or even *indifferent* to this nonsense truly needs their head examined.

Identify with whatever you feel, perfectly fine. I actually respect it.

…but leave sports out of that ********. It’s unfair. Period. And sports that are unfair, by definition, are ********…which is why Cheaters across all sports are justly shamed.

Biology is science. We are incessantly reminded these days to trust science.

Biological men playing women’s sports is complete horseshit.

I have no idea how that’s even slightly controversial.

I am looking forward to having my daughter play against some dude who thinks he’s a chick so that I can go sit behind the freak’s parents and heckle the **** out of them.

I’m not even saying these people don’t truly identify as women. They clearly do, especially to go through all the mental mess and ridicule that’s involved.

I absolutely feel for them as people. I can’t imagine having that type of internal struggle.

But modern sport is built on fair competition. Period.

Life is never fair, but sports has always mostly strived to be, and should continue to unless you are riding a bicycle.

I have ZERO sympathies for people like Lea Thomas. If that dipshit is smart enough to get into UPenn, he's smart enough to know what he's doing is wrong.

The emperor has no clothes when it comes to transgender athletes. It will be interesting to see who finally stands up and acknowledges it. Probably Dana White

I’ll push back on that, BBdK. I can only speak for the state of Louisiana, as this was a “major” (/rolleyes) topic recently. A bill that required all high school athletes to participate in the gender of their birth passed the house, senate, and was controversially vetoed by the Governor. And with a stroke of the pen, fairness was destroyed and young girls were robbed of sports and the entire world of high school girls athletics was demolished.

But here’s the thing — it’s already a very strict rule in the state that to compete as a trans athlete you have to (more or less) fully complete your transition (hormones, surgery, etc), so in the entire history of the whole state of Louisiana there have been….

** DRUMROLL PLEASE **

ZERO trans high school athletes. None. Ever. In the whole history of the state. Not a single one. Zip. Zilch. Nada.

Meanwhile, while fairness has become so important in our adult lives, should we address actual issues that actually affect equal competition, like PEDs?

(note: only speaking for this state, as I’m not sure about others)

I'm going to guess here and say it has to do with the fact that the progressive woke gender neutral fluid nonbinary whatever crowd doesn't give any ***** about sports.

they don't see those girls as the same as "them". The partly shaved head rest multicolored purple and pink hair usually overweight body insecure gender confused mental health issue chicks already hate and always have for generations the cute athletically talented skinny chicks.

I would say that crowd loves nothing more than to see their own gender confused mental health freak show biological male brethren go and dominate the actual "girls" in their sports.

that whole genre is all about being dividing into a flurry of their own little subgroups alphabet soup subparts. and the one group they hate the most, the rest of us who aren't mentally as confused effed up like them.

I sympathize with the mentally ill as much as the next person, but that group(s) do not care about actual women's sports.

By the time GYEROs daughters are playing competitive sports they’ll care, like most things.

**** doesn’t matter until it directly affects you
