Whatevs, but the final play was fine. Several(by this I mean over 50%) coaches choose to let that play run and catch the defense in bad position.

Getting down five due to long 2, and two bad defensive plays allowing players to back cut us was sad.

Oscar missed a bunny too that hurt.

I’m not letting Cal off the hook, but we’ve lost so many of these games it honestly is........well I just got more important **** to worry about to let this even matter.

We wanted Cal to do 3 things over the off-season:
Get rid of dead weight assistants-check
Bring in more shooters-check
Modernize your offense-Big fat &*$@ing fail

if you aren’t going to do the last one…the other two don’t matter.

this year was always going to be a bridge year as we get the stink of our previous recruiters off the program. But if we have an Anfernee year next year, with those recruits…I am for real officially done.

-The TyTy drive was almost assuredly drawn up during the timeout before NDs last possession. I don't hate it, and that's been Cal's philosophy since day 1, so it's whatever.

-Like dK said, it's the other stuff that is beyond tired. The offense is the same stale stuff we've seen for years. Wheeler pushing the pace was nice, but that's not exactly impossible to gameplan for. Defense was awful against mostly stiff honks. Team full of vets can't guard a back cut? Figure it out, Cal.

-Grady and to a lesser extent Mintz are being wasted. The look we drew up to get Grady what would have been the go ahead three...that was by design. Why not do that ALL GAME? You could run him and Mintz stuff like that a dozen times a game and get much better looks than whatever our normal offense is.

-Man I really miss being able to take games like this for a given. Other teams' fans hate us because we show up to your town and leave with the W. Tf happened to that?

I thought the new assistant coaches would make a big difference, and they still may but the cake takes too long to bake. Starting from scratch every year has taken its toll.

Look ahead to next year and who may stay and who may be added. That’s where we are at. I’ve got $200 on the next two years.

Washington was in that position because Wheeler **** the bed all game who quite literally lost the game with his poor as hell decisions. We were lucky to have a shot after that.

How bout don't shoot 1 for whatever and win the game easily?

6-10 at Notre Dame now.

We are actually playing a legit squad next Sat. OSU will dump us by 15-20 pts if we can’t do any better than tonight.

-Who gives a runny **** about the Heisman anymore. meh

I remember in the postgame of one of our early games we shot it really well. Cal looked down at the box score and saw we hit like 11 threes. His face looked like he was looking at his parents have sex. New right there in his mind he was like…”nope I’m shutting the ish down right now”

BINGO.

He refuses to adapt.

Could be Denny Crum 2.0 on the horizon.

Who cares?

That's a 3-4 team and they looked better than us.

You all can continue to bury your head in the sand but I'm tired of being marginal.

Welp, I’d say if he’s lost Anth he’s in trouble. One more to go and he will officially be on the hot seat. We all know who that is.

Reminds me of a certain Final Four game with another dominating big man. Yo, John, that’s on you. I get that ND made some changes on the defensive end against Oscar but it’s on you to make a counter move. Either do something different with him or use it to your advantage with the other 4 on the floor.

Most coaches would experiment with this look:

Washington
Mintz
Grady
Allen
Oscar

Cal, on the other hand, wants to try

Wheeler
Mintz
Hopkins
Toppin
Oscar

There are certain trade offs Cal does not want to make. He does not want to feel like he is losing “defending” and rebounding in exchange for better shooting.

It’s why it took desperation to finally play a guy like Willis at the 4. Even when making the move, he still came across resentful when he’d dump on him about “defense.”

Yep. Hopefully he sees the rebounding numbers today and wakes TF up.
