Oh another circle jerk with people that go to 4th Street Live and the Lexington dbags that show up to swear how southern they are? Cool.
Looks like most people are just going by the national perception that Louisville has claimed through poor leadership at the municipal level in recent years.

The sooner you guys get rid of insipid ***** like Fisher and do something about the school board, the sooner you can start to correct that perception.

I like dogging on Louisville to aggravate SAE and richie, but the city is great and really is a perfect urban flagship for the state.

As a whole, we aren't Southern or Midwestern, more so a mix of the two. Our state is as unique as it is stubborn, and our river city compliments that ethos well. They do a solid job of displaying the horses and bourbon created in Kentucky to the rest of the world.

I do believe the handling of the entire Breonna Taylor situation, from warrant to protests, has set them back at least a decade though.

There aren't that many white Catholics in the South unless you're in Louisiana. That's not exactly a hot take.

-i like visiting Louisville. Could live there if needed. Lots of really cool neighborhoods. Schools are really bad (FCPS is catching up), and those who govern there are the worst.

^not unlike most urban areas. Is what it is.

-with SAE on th "southern culture" bs. It was nostalgia...and now it's marketing. 80 is correct...we ain't southern or Midwestern. In short: **** you, we're Kentucky.

- Have mentioned before but perhaps my biggest Richie-style pet peeve with Millennial Sportswriter is his insistence on using only first names when describing players:

“The thing that makes Chris better than Eric is he just gets buckets. Of course, we all know Ryan and Jim can also get buckets.”

- When did Aaron Rodgers become such a F’ing dbag? Well, I suppose a guy not getting along with his entire family should have been a tip off.

- Some good UK basketball recruiting porn here - chance UK ends up with #1-3 recruits:

- I suppose you can be a pessimistic **** if you’d like, but Cal rebuilt his staff, is saying he’s going to play small, has built his current team to play small (including passing up on Cockburn) and is recruiting next year’s team to play small. Livingston and Hopkins are ideal SB4s which is the most important position in a modern lineup.

- Hoping to experience Oktoberfest Zinzinnati in some form this weekend- even if it’s during the day with a stroller. Just want one Sam Adams draught and a brat.

- I’d put this trio of restaurants, each 4-5 blocks or fewer from my house up against anyone- Bakers Table, York Street Cafe and Purple Poulet (opening soon).

- On our nightly walk about the neighborhood with baby and doggy, my neighbor pulled me over for a pour of Old Forrester BS Rye - which was outstanding at 127 proof. Perhaps it’s time I really dive into the rye game.

- One of my favorite crockpot meals from my youth was ribs and sauerkraut.

- Dinner Saturday night at Losanti for my MIL’s birthday. Great spot right off Washington Park and my inlaws rave about the steak.

- This one really got to me:

I was just looking at York Street Cafe as we will be up there next Tuesday for concert at Riverbend. York Street menu looked very small. Also looked at Pompilio’s..been there before?

Last time I was at Pompilio's it was delicious, but that was before the Pompilio family sold it. Not sure if the quality has dropped off in that time frame.

I was talking with a fella here in town whom I really respect who has started several businesses, sold them and made a very nice living. 100% self made success story.

He and I were discussing local politics, the 2022 Mayoral race and how ridiculous it is that Brown family & all of it’s various branches can have such a stranglehold over a city of Louisville’s size.

His quote stood out to me..

“We’ll, when you’re worth $100 million without lifting a finger you can afford to be an ******* and not worry about the consequences for real people.”

Louisville's dope. For a youngish, single, moderately overweight, professional that enjoys sports, food, and meeting non pretentious chicks, pretty great.

Pompilio’s is one of my all-time favorite restaurants, but York Street and Bakers Table in Newport and in Covington Otto’s and Bouquet in Mainstrasse and Hotel Covington on Madison are trendier, cooler spots.

Chad doesn’t know **** about food he’s filling in for somebody.

I know everyone likes to eat but I seriously like to eat bro. Like, I make sex noises while forking - yeah one of those guys. I self-identify as a foodie in my Twitter bio, am fluent in 18 different expressions of Asian cuisine, have accounts on restaurant message boards in 14 North American cities and am on a first name basis with 6 area sous chefs. I have Esteban from Esteban’s Taquerias phone number. I haven’t been to Ruby’s since ‘17 because he changed the cattle farms. My entire lifestyle can be described as “farm to table.” I once got in a fistfight with Jean-Robert about the eggplant appetizer he was serving at Table. I order for my friends at LaBambas. And I dip my fries in Caribbean Mango and Aji Amarillo sauce as opposed to ketchup.

So yeah don’t bring that weak ****.

Very underrated thing about NKY-- Madison Theater. I've seen so many good shows at that little venue- Sturgill, Spoon, Nathaniel Rateliff. Stone Temple Pilots playing there next month with a solid opening band.

I still have a copy from years ago of BBdK's Louisville pizza power rankings. I know he hates me (even though I sent you that UK poster years ago), but I have done good and honorable work on that list.

I actually still have a good amount of those posters somewhere in my garage.

If the Catholics in Louisville gave a **** about the overall education of our city we could turn it around. I guess what I’m saying is #TeamDragCatholicsFromShanties

-I’d like to see what a Barry Larkin 1-4 combo looks like…probably about like that throw.

-So happy to be back at the gym but lifting half the normal weight isn’t fun nor is doing 90% seated exercises but hey just happy to be here. Hard to break a sweat limping around.

-Going to try and sneak in a couple pool days before heading back home to the frigid tundra up there. Always fun to come back super tan but 100% looking forward to those temps and hopeful humidity drop.

-Likely going to cut my stupid long hair when I get back if anyone was interested. Might even hit up a fancy barbershop and get the hot towel treatment we talked about on here the other day.

Friendly reminder that UKO hates the Ryder Cup.

No, I don't hate the RC. It is an entertaining event, but Max Homa's win last week means more....TS.

I guess you can blame Tiger and Duval, because if they hadn't labeled it a glorified exhibition, then it may rank up there w/ the Lex City Tourney.

Enter "US player" who will either suck or play well....and receive either accolades or hate press. A few weeks from now that player may win a PGA Tour event and the former will be all for naught.

You really struggle with sports topics.

Being among 20K in Bridgestone last night for Clapton was the icing on the back to normal cake. Witnessing tons of people on Broadway simply having fun was a definitive middle finger to mandates.

Remember when we were supposed to wear TWO masks? That little stunt lasted a few days, tops.
I remember seeing an article on a local site with a headline along the lines of "University of Kentucky Doctor Recommends Wearing Two Masks". Having great respect for UK Medicine, I read the article. Was this "doctor" an MD employed by the UK College of Medicine? Nope. It was the dean of public health with a ph.d in whatever.

Ok, toots. I'll get right on that.

"Public health officials" are the chiropractors of our time.

Never agree to throw out the first pitch at a ballgame because it is a no win situation. Either you toss it in fine and no one cares or you toss it into the stands and look like a fool for all eternity on the internets.
