Agree, I only go to places I can make an appt these days. Touch sitting and waiting. The place I go here in Raleigh is one of those trendy "businessman's" shop that serves beer at 10AM. Just cut my hair and leave me be so I can get back to the office.

ESPN is reporting that Ben Simmons is not going to report to camp and will never play another game for the Sixers, with whom he is under contract for $29M per year. Isn't the optimal move for the Sixers to call his bluff? They can make the playoffs without him, but still trade him before the deadline for some value. Of course, what's the value for a dude who makes that much but is scared to shoot in the playoffs?

Different time and place. Saturday morning, you knew there were 4-5 ahead of you, but you knew most of the guys in there. Good catching up. As I have not been to a barber in 25 years, can't comment on the scene today. Just reminiscing on days gone by pre-kids, no commitments, full head of hair.

Lillard will force his way out eventually. Simmons is still young and has been an All NBA player. Maxey is on the verge of busting out.

I'm glad you enjoy it, but I don't get the barbershop experience at all. Even before COVID, the majority of the barbershops I went to had appointments. So it's not like you'd ever be just sitting there anyway talking to the regulars. Plus, with the clippers barbershops are already kind of loud so it's not conducive to conversation.

And what's with this hipster beer serving barbershop stuff? The new one in our neighborhood sells beer, but it closes at 4PM. Nothing like drinking an IPA while getting your haircut at 9:30 in the morning on a Tuesday.

I just want to get in, get my haircut, say as little as possible, and get out.
Figures that you wouldn't get barbershop.

Player empowerment - 'bout to ruin that sport.

I was stuck in a barbershop Saturday and it was a 2 hour wait. Had to leave without getting a desperately needed trim. I guess there were 15-20 people in there waiting. 2 barbers.

Also, who'd want to drink beer (or anything for that matter) at a dang barbershop? Lots of obstacles in play there.

Absolutely despise waiting to get a haircut. Love the apps to sign in before hand. Not like I have a complex cut, get me in and out.

Still miss the $7 cuts on base and the awkward inappropriate neck massage from the cute stylist…those were the days.

Is there any GYEROMAN way to get someone to come to me to cut my damn hair? That's one of the last errands I want to do and I end up looking slovenly more than I should.

Seems a little too close to prostitution for me to call around and ask it they do outcall service, though.

Not ashamed to say I've enjoyed the High Life sitting in a hipster's barber chair before.

My father is bald, both of my grandfathers are/were bald, and my hair sheds like a German Shepherd. But, damnit if I just don't keep producing a great looking mop day in and day out. Been stressed for 15 years about when my time runs out, but at this point just enjoying the days I have left.

I could give a **** about Lively, but we've got to come correct in November and beat Duke.

Speaking of, that 2019 team getting their *** kicked in the first game, losing in the SEC tourney semis, and topping it off by gacking the final four to Auburn is ridiculous. That's putting it politely, but holy hell.

Nerves are already jacked about Saturday. Are we getting the dreaded backup QB? I'm sure if nothing else the Cocks have some big strong pass rusher we've never heard of ready to tee off on Levis.

We have new neighbors a few doors down, and they have two large german shepherds. Good looking dogs- not my choice of breed- but whatever. As long as they are pure bred I can tolerate.

Anyway- the young husband has drawn the ire of the stay at home wives on the street as he's been seen multiple times picking up after the dog- but then just leaving the bag in someone else yard. Per my wife they are up to well over 40 texts on the street GroupMe about it (which, said guy's wife is also on). Apparently coordinating for all other residents to walk their pups, and then go drop off the bags of **** in this neighbor's yard. "I've lived on this street almost 20 years and we've never had this kind of blatant disrespect toward other neighbors..."

Pending thread on Nextdoor.com, I assume. WIll provide updates to the situation.

Good lord.. the difficult part is picking it up. Why not just toss the bag? The move, btw, is to fake like you're picking it up. Works better for small dogs, but still often effective.

The ironic thing is that there has been more effort undertaken by hens who don't work to discuss said dogshit than there ever would have been to just pick it up and then call the guy directly and be like "WTF?" He probably had a legit excuse or he thought Wayne lived in his neighborhood and he was doing the Lord's work.

I don't pickup dogshit, Hank. For those that do what's next? Taking the cart back? Making sure she has an orgasm before you do? Who can live like that?
