-Thanks for the reminder and for all you and the Bryant team do to fight cancer year after year. Just donated in your name of course.

-Had a meeting with a new horse farm client Friday that prevented me from having lunch with PTi Friday. Wife got a late start to head to her mothers for her 60th birthday on Saturday and game day traffic flat sucked for a noon kick off, which prevented me from seeing PTi at the Schem tailgate. Really hate we didn't get to connect this trip dude. Hope you and the lass enjoyed Lexington to the fullest. I'll do better the next go around.

-Hate to hear about 80's family dealing with Covid stuff. We have been relatively lucky so far but had 3 employees reach out that they were either positive or had family members who were positive. This go round seems to be getting closer to home that last year. Hope everyone stays safe.

-Always fun to hit up football practice and get a surprise catch up with my old roommate WodieSloot.

-Dove hunts galore this weekend. Limited out 3 days in a row. 3 more this week. Forgot to pack my hunting license first shoot, had no internet on the farm I was at and forgot to snap a picture of the licence although I did my migratory birds pass. $200 fine but atleast I didnt get arrested and have my shotgun confiscated. Fairly new game warden who just had to do everything by the books. Awesome.

-It was so nice not having to setup or deal with my own tailgate. While I'm sure I will still have one from time to time, Im looking forward to just visiting friends and relaxing this football season versus all of the work a large tailgate normally takes.

-Look for NIL social media posts from the players to start leaking out this week.

-Fall Travel Baseball begins this weekend. It never ends. FML.

-Fairly meh on both Drake and Kayne's new albums. Drakes is better, but just not many bangers on either one in my 40+ year old white guy's opinion.

Felt great to be back at a UK football game again. It's been 3 years since my last one.

Being there, I realized how much I've missed my buddies. Great to see Anthony, Sloot, 80, Rudd, SAE, Pti, BMoney, again.

After the game, walked over to the Harris party. Always an awesome setup. Talked baseball with his son, who randomly knows a friend of mines kid whose also getting multiple D1 offers.

Saturday. Looking to come down again but worried about the Uber situation as I know I'm not driving home. Easy to get a lift to a telly or nah?

You should be able to get a ride an hour or so after the game. They've been pretty available.

Downtown is less than 2 miles from CWS. I've had some good, mind-clearing walks while getting in some late night steps. Sometimes I'll hit a bar or two, sometimes I'll grab a milkshake, or sometimes I'll just go straight to the house.

Of course uber is usually pretty good an hour or so after the end of the game.

Shorts:

- Sharpe is a Monk/Murray caliber baller. Can get any shot he wants and has NBA range. Absolute stud.

- Louisville Fan truly believed they were on the Clemson path five years ago. lol

- Excited to see our new O against a good SEC foe on Saturday. That game was a helluva lot of fun, though.

- Instagram should have a Rose Bowl filter. The lighting in that stadium is something else- just makes jerseys pop. Enchanting setting.

- Sorry but I hate the trend of offensive and defensive players sharing jersey numbers. Goes against a lot of what I believe in.

- One of the greater joys of fall is the Monday morning college football podcast drop after a weekend of ballgames.

- Netflix’s 9/11 Turning Point doc series is incredible. Pretty much takes you from the rise of Bin Laden up to August 2021.

- Baby girl turns one tomorrow. ☺️ What a great time of year to have a birthday.

- Don’t know about $$$ but the new Big 12 should be a fun little conference.

Grade school football is where proper tackling begins. First thing they teach (well did), get in your stance, watch the ball carriers waist, it doesn't move. DO NOT watch his head or feet. Square up, head to the side, hit him in the mid section and then wrap up and slide down and wrap the legs at the knees. Not one coach taught me to lower my head (losing site of the ball carrier), hit with my helmet straight on. It is dangerous to both tackler and person with the ball, but more so to the tackler as he is then one that is stationary taking on a person moving forward.

When did these kids start tackling by just lunging forward with their helmet and not even using their arms to wrap up? Clean that **** up ad quit trying to land "The knockout" blow. The stupid rope chain or whatever stupid things defensive coaches reward players for a big hit is dumb and part of the problem. ( Sportscenter Play Syndrome). Or SPS for short.
This is going to be a long season watching games if the "Booth Initiated" review continues. If the ref on the field doesn't call it, so be it. A guy sitting in a booth constantly watching reply will be unbearable watching games. The targeting on the Ole Miss guy was a bad call, the UL player lowered his head and initiated contact with the helmet, Ole Miss defender did not lead with the crown of his helmet. UL is bad, the QB even worse.

If UK cleans up the turnovers (4 vs UL Monroe) and a couple dumb penalties, they will be tough to beat even for Georgia. Not saying we WILL beat them, but eliminate those things and it is at least competitive. Very happy with what I watched Saturday, now go out and do that week in, week out, do not over look anybody. Get some guys back, stay somewhat injury free, 2nd in the east is there, just have to take it. And for the love of God, eliminate the slow starts and getting in a early hole, good teams will not let you up. First game jitters, that is my reasoning.

It all starts with Mizzou, win that one (we should even with our B game), it will be a really fun season, Let F'N Go !
The just need to be 3-0 when the Gators come to town, maybe even get a Gameday visit. Beat the Gators and LSU (not impressed) and Shew Wee, lookout, 10 wins is there for the taking. Should be Top 25 after last week, there are not 24 teams better than UK Belee Dat.

- Mowed again last night. Happy to report that no bunnies were spotted, either dead or alive.
Speaking of, my yard has never looked worse. It's essentially 90 percent crab grass, clover, and violets at this point.

I think it's to the point I'm going to have to nuke it and start over.

Sod, or re-seed, or can I just dump grass seed everywhere and hopefully it chokes out the weeds?

The Ole Miss player who executed a perfect form tackle, but just had slight contact with his helmet was the worst call I have ever seen. What in the hell is this guy supposed to do?

The defense looks like they stayed committed through the off-season. Usually someone looks out of shape or at least like they didn't improve since the previous season. These guys all look fit and pissed. Maybe it was just the opponent, but I was really impressed with Paschal, Wright, Ox, Weaver, Square, Corker, et al.

Favorite non-touchdown play was Corker's blitz on ULM's first drive. Love seeing ears pinned back like that. Corker looks ready to generate some high draft pick buzz.

Second favorite was the long ball to Epps, specifically the catch. Caught at the apex of his jump, never slowing down. Made the defender look dumb. Probably was.

I thought all of targeting last night was actually targeting. Louisville has no discipline, and it's hard to stay disciplined on the field when playing them. I'd launch head first* into any of them, myself.

That study is unfortunate after I spent I don't know how long yesterday getting the new delta 10 liquid from a plastic syringe into a little cartridge.

And spoiler alert, not impressed with it so far.

Has Dish Network and/or DirectTV just given up? We canceled our service with Dish over 5 months ago in favor of YoutubeTV and other streaming services. We still have the mounted satellite on the house and the receiver/remotes. No one has called/contacted us to even try to get these things back. They just seem defeated and have accepted their failure. It’s like they’re saying, “just keep it. We don’t need it anyway.”

Not unlike the Louisville Cardinal athletic program when you think about it.

Jokes on you, as you paid for it anyway! Enjoy the house ornament!

Huber, did the same on a fishing trip to Ky. Lake a few years ago. Contacted the prosecutor’s office the next day and faxed them my valid fishing license and they dropped everything.

Wayne, been smoking for over 50 years and my heart is not having any problems. Pretty sure they wouldn’t want me in the study since it would mess up the results. There’s hundreds of things worse on your heart but hey, let’s pick weed.

Been in conversations with my wife’s father for over a year or so about his property. I helped him build a house up on a hill and every time he talks about buying “another 5 acres” I just laugh to myself because he is on a hill and the land can’t be that nice.

Well he now has 60 acres and last night we toured the property. Holy ****! He has trails he cleared with a bush hog, deer feeders, deer stands, flats where they grow vegetables, a pond where he stocks catfish, bass and something else.

Took about an hour to get in and out, up and down all over the property and the man knows every damn inch of it.

Assuming they go off the grid soon because they don’t need a thing now that it’s all done and providing everything.

I’m no country boy, but I damn sure could get behind that way of life the way they are set up.

Really looking forward to hunting his property this fall.

Good place to plunk a distillery.
