I get us not receiving any votes. We were 5-6, lost a bunch of guys to the NFL, replaced half our coaching staff. New offense, new QB, thin at receiver, etc.

Tons and tons of questions about this team, but IMO Piglet has addressed every single one of them. Just gonna have to prove that his solutions work before we get any recognition. I mean I think we can win 9 or 10, but I don't expect national media guy to think that.
We would have 4 more wins and 2 fewer losses had we played our normal schedule. And Coastal Carolina would have been 2-8 or 1-9 against our all-SEC schedule.

I agree, but I don't expect national media guy to make the same rationalizations.

That's the reason there are only 5 ranked SEC teams.

Always amazes me when a GREAT probable HOF hitter like Votto reaches a milestone like 2,000 hits … and then you consider Rose had that doubled and more.

That exact thought crossed my mind while watching the game last night. It’s just absurd.

We've been Cubs fans forever, but 2 years ago before the pandemic hit we sat in seats right on field near the visitors dugout and Jason Heyward & Kyle Schwarber came over and tossed a few balls at my youngest son because we said it was his birthday. Other Cubs fans jumped over top of us getting the balls as the flew in, so JHey walked over and gave my son a ball and wished him a happy birthday personally. From that point forward Harrison has been a huge JHey fan and will only wear 22 in all of his sports and pretty much every morning asks what the game stats were of the Cubs game and how Heyward did.

Flash forward to last night. Because of travel ball, we never had an opportunity to go to Wrigley this year, so we got the same exact seats on the field next to the Cubs dugout for the the Reds game at Great American last night. My kid even made a huge sign how he was JHey's biggest fan. Got there an hour and a half early, shouted at JHey, and waved the signed him during batting practice and when he was next to use shagging balls in the fild next to us, and got no response. Then waited by the side of the dugout to again wave his sign and say hi to Heyward before they warmed up pregame, he comes out, and nothing. Every inning when Heyward ran past us into the dugout before the Cubs hit, the kids and wife yelled and waved the big poster board and not even a nod or a look. So, the wife decides we go to the right field area and see if he will at least wave at Harrison there. Some Reds fans had us sit first row in right field, and most of the section hollered like crazy for Heyward to just turn around and wave at his young fan for 2 innings and got nothing. He was like 10 feet away, so we're sure he heard them. And hell the guy is a professional athlete, trying to play a game, so I totally get why he was zoned out from the crowd and didn't play it up for the fans when in a visitors ball field like he did 2 years ago.

Tough talk with a disappointed little guy about professional sports and how his baseball hero Heyward's job is to play baseball, not socialize with all of the Cubs fans. Some tears were shed, but I think he got it.

What I will say is the Reds fans in right field, and I mean dozens of them, were simply fantastic in trying to help a little guy fan of an opposing team, decked out in Cubs gear, just to try to just get a wave from his favorite player. They were awesome and I appreciate their kindness. It wasn't about the Cubs and Reds, but about helping a kid simply get a wave from his hero.

Tell your son that if he's disappointed, imagine what the owners of the Cubs are going through paying that fraud $25M a year for a 1.5 average WAR over the last six years.

At this point, the unvaccinated are basically holding the rest of the country hostage. Their political beliefs are more important to them than their families, friends, coworkers, and their country. Politicians control their brains. Common sense isn’t even an option.

Your posts aren't very good in general.....they are really bad (such as this one) when you are on drugs.

Had a similar situation with my oldest and Ronald acuna jr this summer. Got tickets right behind Braves dugout, boys all screamed and hollered at him from ~ 8 feet away and got no response. One of the coaches did gift him a ball they used during their warmups between innings tho, so that was dope.

i don’t get Ted lasso. I mean it’s fine, but I don’t get the obsession. White lotus was really good. That scene with the suitcase has been burned into my brain. Like, did he have to actually do that in real life?? That actor got stuck doing some really terrible **** on camera, real or not. Bless his heart.

- That’s lame AF of Heyward, even on the road, because fan interaction “should” be fun even if it’s just trash talking. I’ve sat out in RF a few times and there is nothing like an opposing player fake ball tossing to a home crowd and then laughing at them. Seen that a few times.

- Finally watched the Ron Artest thing on Netflix. That team wasn’t going to mentally win anything, but they were set to be nasty when Reggie got back. You know you are one of the best trash talkers when you rattle Jordan’s cage, and having 2 psycho’s in Jackson/Artest backing you up, shew boy!

The ONLY thing that whole thing was missing is the possibility of Rasheed getting knocked TF out.

- Nothing like being 3rd party to a contractor not getting material on time and letting him loose via email with a vendor.

- Wife’s dad has dropped the ball on a few things in the basement causing it to not be finished yet, in 3 weeks, so I’m just going to proactively buy a tent and pray for cooler weather.

- Ever gotten SO much done in a day or 2 and just been proud of yourself like damn I did it, only to realize your still behind on EVERYTHING?

feels odd

- Our Fridge/freezer is weird. Ice box is in the fridge, which I mean I get, but the damn thing never has ice and is always dropping water puddles on the floor when we open the door.

Irritation level is on a 10 as I’m mechanically challenged, but do not want a “fancy” garage fridge, and I’m conflicted to sell a piece of junk.

- Pool confirmation set for October. Man what a weird thing as ALL pool contractors are out until next year.

Asked about the possibility of not having the money to pay, because I’m a Jew, and the guy says well then we’d lien your house.

Has me thinking a little!

"Gatewood had his shot against Georgia and did not do anything with it." Well throwing a kid who had not played much out there against Georgia with ****** receivers is not exactly a recipe for success. Maybe if he had got to get his feet wet with a lesser opponent he might of gained some confidence.

"Football is a business known, Stoops should have kept him, we need depth" Another gem, but pretty sure Stoops did not have a say in Gatewood transferring. He did the right thing by giving the kid a chance to find a place to land on his feet. Pretty sure he would have figured it out gameday when Levis trotting out to the huddle and he was holding a clipboard on the sideline. Good grief do some of you even watch or know anything about football ?

Agree with Rogue (and ducks for incoming fire), but enough with the GD Covid, Taliban, workout talk, and other boring *** topics of discussions. it is ok to comment on a topic, but over and over and over, boring.

There will be a new girl scout cookie coming.
The GSKWR announced in a news release that Adventurefuls™ are the newest cookie in the offering. They are brownie-inspired with caramel and sea salt.

LOL. The National Security Advisor just blamed Americans for not getting out on time.....after they were given a shelter in place warning. These people are idiots and we elected them.

There is a video in that thread showing what it's like to be caught in landing gear whilst traveling at an extremely high speed.

Frozen Thin Mints please do not fight with me on this.
That's such a simple, pedestrian choice. Die on that hill if you must.

In other news, there is a Woodstock 99 documentary on the Hulu that's pretty good. I had forgotten what a **** show that ended up being. Essentially it became a setting for mass sexual assaults, death from dehydration, and then everyone decided to set the whole thing on fire. It was headlined by Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit which is just effing amazing looking back. Moby talks about how scared he was the entire time (of course he was). Its not a must-watch. I can't give it that full stamp- but its a good one if you cant find something else after scrolling a while.

Levi's can make the throws in 7s. I just hope he can do that in live action without staring down his primary target.

Kinnard was going to play RT at the next level anyway. He's a prototype road grader for that right side. Our OL deep and talented, we could rotate 3 across and be fine.

Guys I keep reading about that are prepared for a breakout season are Valentine on D and Cummings on O.

I think Paschal has a great season. His JR year sort of went like Josh Allen's, not expecting him to step forward that much but the kid is special.

Labor Day weekend can't get here soon enough.
