The Weekend Begins Tonight Randoms

- Any of you dudes hitting up Coaches For The Kids this weekend? Easily one of my favorite events of the year and I'm sure after a year off, Saturday night will be EEK.

-Two days of golf lined up. New clubs in the bag. It's just me, some old college buddies, beer and booze, and the links for the next 48 hours.

-Only two more baseball tournaments and the travel baseball season is done. Those little turds just keep winning rings.

-Cubs haven't been solid in a couple of years, but they will be the garbage can of the NL Central for sometime after completely dumping the whole team. Running up to Cincy to watch them play next month am not sure we will even know half the team by that point. Well, except of course Jason Heyward. He ain't going nowhere. (Rolleyes)

-I'm at that weird spot with an iphone I've had the glass fixed twice, and its cracked again because of trying to shut my tailgate. not realizing the phone was stuck between it and the bed as I attempted over and over to close it thinking something else was jammed in it like a tie down. I'm not buying and more $200 front and back glass for this thing, but it sure is embarrassing when someone sees my phone and it reminds you of a day shift stripper at Cowboy's. #Busted

-Has anyone talked about how awesome Woodford County is in a while? If not, they really should.

-Football season can't get here soon enough. It's almost GO time and the tailgate planning has began. Easily my favorite time of the year.

"You don't know her, so leave her the *uck alone". LOL, I do not know Jordan either, but IF he would have checked out of the NBA Finals after going 0fer in the 1st Qtr. and said he had mental issues, I would have called him every way you can call someone a soft *ussy. GOATS do not quit if they are having an off night, and weight on her shoulders ? Guess Jordan should have quit several times with the Bulls.

If you do not have Sirloin and Flat Iron in your steak rotation, you are not what you think you are. Period.

Bust (based on estimated draft position)

Bouknight (6) A 29% 3pt. shooter for a shooting guard ? What could go wrong ?

K. Johnson (9) A 27% 3pt. shooter for s shooting guard. He does have defense to fall back on.

Giddey (11) - Euro and look at his mug. All kidding aside, he will take a while.

I. Jackson (12-17) If he goes as some project, he will never live up to the lofty expectations. He is a project, now if he goes mid to upper 20's disregard.

Biggest potential Bust : If he goes top 15 like some are projecting, Sengun from Turkey.

Possible steals :

Chris Duarte (20's) Guard from Oregon. 42% 3pt on over 5 attempted per game, he is a shooter and only helps he is 6-6.

Kispert - Same as Duarte, but 44% and can get any shot he wants, crafty as touch. Knows how to use screens and curls.

Dosunmu - Dude is just silky smooove and has all the tools. Over 20 per and nice reb. and assist #s at over 6 reb. per and nearly 6 assist per. Throw in 39% from 3 and you got a nice combo guard.

Tre Mann - If Philly gets him at the end of rd. 1, they are getting a complete 2 way player and over 40% from long range. I have to see 7 better PG's in this class.

Will surprise based on slipping so far down - BJ Boston. Not saying a future All Star, but dude will last in the NBA.

Never good to give anyone credit for anything around here, but HUBER and his team look sharp AF in those unis. Well done, coach.

🙌

The way I look at sports, and especially my golf game is this: You may not be good, you may not play good, but damn it you're gonna look good.

If you think the unis are nice, you should see their matching bat bags. 🤦‍♂️

Kids baseball is a freaking business these days. From the tournaments down to all of these baseball uniform companies.

When I played rec & county all star ball WAY back in the day, you were given used jerseys, pants, and stirrups that went over your socks that were probably all used for 3-4 seasons. The only thing you got new every season was a hat and the socks your momma provided. Kids these days have 2-3 different uniforms and pants with 2-3 hats, warmup short sleeve batting jackets jackets, matching batting gloves, matching bat bags. It's insane really. And you literally have to have a print out of what uniforms we are wearing and on which day to a 2 day tournament, every freaking weekend. Gawd forbid you wear the white hat instead of the grey or yellow hat on Sunday. My bad coach.

Hell, these little bastards have actual walkup music and even have the Braves announcer Casey Motter doing the voice work. Of course my kid picked Grove Street Party. (Credit BallPark DJ App and our head coach for paying the juice)

These little jive turkeys will never know the pain of getting your team jersey thats been in storage in some out building at the county parks department and it smells like the stanky kid from seasons past or wonder what those stains on the baseball pants you were given actually were.

Late 80s Shelby County Baseball Coach: "Huber, what number jersey you want?"

Me: "I'll take number 23 coach. I love Ryan Sandberg, that's my number."

Late 80s Shelby County Baseball Coach: "Sorry son, this number 23 jersey has a sleeve missing and it looks like a cat had kittens on it at some point in the off season here in the baseball shed. This year you're number 17. Let's have a great season."

best steakhouse cut: Mutton saddle
best steak at home: Tri Tip, truffle butter to finish

I, for one, have never overcooked a steak.

I usually order seafood or duck at good restaurants... never chicken. boycott on veal just because.

Nice little bourbon haul whilst in the area...
  • KC120 pick
  • Bardstown Bourbon Co Gift Shop release SB French Oak
  • NULU toasted Barrel pick
  • Starlight (Double Oak, Sngle, Rye, Sherry)< stuff is legit
College Tour ‘21: Wake Forest is the truth. beautiful campus. hot babes. Sold. (Until UK visit ON Friday).

Lunch at Bardstown Bourbon Co was very good. Shrimp & Grits... chicciarone app. Willet and Heavenhill were cleared out of anything interesting.

Dipping back into the local scene, had a Ski and a Big Red. I forgot how disgusting they were. Lord have mercy. Too much fast food here too... clean it up KY.

Biscuit Belly breakfast was nice.

Jeff Ruby’s tomorrow.

Mom works at Wake, lived a mile from campus for years. Great campus. But Winston-Salem leaves a lot to be desired for a "college town."

Ryne says hello. Sorry couldn’t help it. My favorite player is Andrew Dawson, personally.

In downtown Lex right now, 3rd street live looks busy. Meeting an old friend at 21c, she’s the F&B manager now, good on her. All the employees in masks though, wtf? The charade continues.

Have I mentioned I had Covid in January and not vaxxed, nor will I be? Just wanted to get it out there in case I forgot.

May have to pop around a bit and see what the town looks like these days.

The Cubs are not trading Rizzo and Bryant in the same day at the deadline.

Whoever thinks that doesn’t understand being a lovable loser.

I had the exact same experience during those days. Uniforms that had been worn for a few seasons, an old duffel bag full of used up bats, a couple of worn out baseballs for practice. Luckily my old man and a few others would buy us some good bats, Demirini’s IIRC. Also, my old man was always the one coach who hauled the bat bag to and from the games. He’d get there early, park up front, and whichever team member showed up first got to carry it to the field.

As far as uniform number, I too always wanted 23 because Ryne(Ryan) Sandberg was my favorite. Used his batting stance, right pointer finger off the bat and all. When 23 wasn’t available I wanted 8 for obvious reasons. Also used to tuck the ball behind my back like the Red Baron when I was on the bump.

What on Earth are Lebron and Westbrook going to do at the same time on offense? That's basically the John Calipari wet dream of talent that does not amount to production.
