Found out today that we are going back to masks at work mandatory. 75% of the company is still remote working. Most of us who have been going in the entire time have got a vaccine this spring and been operating like it was 2019.

But because evidently some non vaccinated people are going in sans mask we all have to suffer. It may be insensitive but at what point is it survival of the nonidiots? I feel we have passed that point.

—Shew… as someone who backed off GYERO as a daily habit due to wanting to avoid COVID discussions, I picked a bad day as a long-haired bearded man to check back in. Oh well.

—F COVID, F the politicization of it. But also if you wanna politicize it… maybe don’t pick the course of action that causes your voter base to disproportionately die off? Just speaking pragmatically. Get your vax, live your life, and let nature’s counter to idiocracy run its course.

—I lived down the hall from Chase’s BIL in K2 in college. Took several of chase’s posts for me to connect the dots but he’s a great dude I haven’t kept in touch with and it sucks he’s having to go through all this BS. Ts & Ps 🙏

—the boner in khakis and rolled up sleeves mansplaining the Olympic medals needs to go

—If you don’t personally know Simone, STFU. That’s one hard-*** sport, and she’s had to deal with the weight of the world on her shoulders for 5+ years with no definitive end in sight for the past 1.5 years and the hype has been unbridled. Oh and her Olympic team doctor molested her. Guys check out in basketball games all the time when they’re not fully on but she can’t do the same without being relentlessly harassed?

—bbdk’s boy BTB got into a heated DM exchange with me when I dared question his swimming knowledge. What an insecure, petty little worm. Btw I know exactly who he is and know a guy who swam with him in college briefly before BTB dropped out because he’s an uncoachable fragile little *****, but you wouldn’t know it the way he pumps himself up on Twitter. All the 🙄s to that turd

Joey effing Votto.

Unreal

Topps made a card last night for his hot streak. Customer pointed out I am on it. Right by his batting helmet. Not my rookie card but hey I’ll take it with my favorite player.

I feel like the human bit-moji on NBC is basically just doing quick math for the audience. He did the same thing on Derby coverage. “So you see the favorite at 5-2 odds which means if you place a $10 win wager on Essential Quality, you’ll like get back 25 bucks. So you have to ask yourself, is it worth it?” Thanks for the inside tip, *Kyle!

* No idea what the dude’s name is, but he seems like a PERFECT 40-something Kyle.

It almost feels like NBC shows more footage of the athletes on the podium, with the national anthem playing, than they do footage of the actual events.

Am I the only one who hears Lt. Frank Drebin singing the national anthem every time they show this?

According to my “for you” feed on TikTok, girls are strictly doing butt exercises in 2021.
Sloots gotta win that Big Bank Challenge, son.

* My favorite part of the Olympics is beating the commies. Sorry not sorry, Comrade Chad.

We are in a cold war with China. Might as well whip some CCP *** in air rifle or whatever and let those pinkos know who is boss. :americanflag:

Bonus points for the basketball team boatracing Iran. Hopefully we flip the bird to Kim Jong-Un on our way home to the world's shining city on the hill.

* I have a twitter and instagram account but rarely if ever use them. Every time I hear anyone talk about twitter, I shudder. It seems about as enjoyable as conversing with your spouse during a divorce over and over and over and over. No thanks.

* Going to Ruby's for the first time this weekend with the wife to treat her before we head out of state for my mother-in-law's memorial service.

So help me God, if King Andy puts out a mask mandate for restaurants on Friday afternoon, I'm going to explode. I reallllly do not want to have to listen to COVID talk while consoling my grieving wife.

Any non-Wayne recommendations? The butcher's cut with Collinsworth sauce is calling my name -- could also be convinced to go Burrow-style. At high end places, I usually prefer to go with something beside the strip/ribeye. I can make a mean ribeye at home.

What's the play on sides?

Steak Burrow was actually pretty damn good.

Agree with potato’s Anna and the Brussels.

Never had the toots Palumbo roll, but would make for a good story.

Everyone recommended the Potatoes Anna the first time I went to Ruby's and they were basically undercooked unseasoned fried potatoes.

Looked pretty though.

Palumbo Roll 🤣 I thought you were joking but there's literally a Stoops, Calipari, and Palumbo Roll.

That’s a great story @wcc31 . I worked in Supported Employment (helping people with mental disabilities and/or mental health issues find and maintain employment) for about a year or so early on in my career and had the chance to witness some stories like this. There was one client I worked with who was a greeter at a restaurant. Every Thursday and Friday I would join her for at least 2 hours and the joy I witnessed her from just making a living and getting to interact with others was priceless.

- Anyone caught the 1971 docuseries on Apple+? Outstanding.

- The recruiting hyperbole always amuses me - “I’d compare this kid to Malik Monk - only a better ballhandler and defender and with no weaknesses whatsoever.” Monk averaged 20 a game and went for 30 in a half 3x. F off.

- Cunningham is the safe play but give me Jalen Green. Kid will be an absolute star.

- Does Boston have a chance to be a decent pro?

- Man, that World Cup qualifier up here will be pretty awesome. Living adjacent to a world class metropolis certainly has its benefits.

Austin is a fun city, been there for a Texas game. Due to it's size, It does not consume the city on game weekend like Knoxville, Athens, Baton Rouge. Part of the charm of CFB. It's a less crazy Nashville at this point.

Those Brussel sprouts are fire.
Since having them I’ve probably tried to copy them at least 5-6 times.

- Instagram and Youtube "fitness influencers" have been doing only "booty and glutes" since about 2013. Sometime in the interim the Brazilian Butt Lift surgery got REALLY popular and there's a not insignificant number of IG types getting that done. Actual butt implants are also a thing, but definitely declasse for ladies trying to look like centaurs for the internet right now. BBL is the move for these types in large part because it looks a little bit more real. If you squat with butt implants, your butt doesn't move and you can see the outline of the implant. It looks hilarious. A BBL will move slightly more naturally. Google Paige Hathaway (you're welcome) and see if you can find pictures from about 5 years ago. She had implants, notoriously lied about it, got busted, and later had them removed.

Also, photo editing apps are unreal. I like when my IG explore page brings up these girls who have dump truck *** and zero quad/hamstring to support it and then seeing that their video posts show a mysteriously shrunken lower half. You can make your butt look absolutely enormous if you put all your weight into one hip, twist your upper body around to make your waist look smaller, and then kick your non-supporting leg back. This also stretches out the skin on the front leg/asscheek so it looks like you have no cellulite. Now you too can be an IG influencer!

- I am thankful every day I got into powerlifting where I no longer give a **** if I turn purple or have a "roll" over my belt when I brace into it instead of falling into the trap of self-obsession those influencers inevitably lead to. Did I get the lift? Sweet, don't care if I look like a bag of smashed pears. GYERO dads, not a bad idea to check into your daughter's social media follows from time to time to see who she's comparing herself to. That universe can be pretty destructive.

- ***.

- I hope Joey Votto got the best stack of steroids ever and I love watching him mash right now. Joey to the moon.

- As for me and my house, #teambeard.

- Get the vax. Don't make me wear a mask, Andy. I have natural immunity and Pfizer, I'm basically the cure to covid. (kidding.)

-Sharpe and Wallace do get me excited about recruiting.

-I think Boston seems like a really good kid. He had every reason to drop his head and pout last season.

-Potatoes Anna have always been on point for me.

-Morikawa seems too good to be true. What a star, true superstar potential.

-TheDad, MCF, Rad Dad are all great content. One of my favorite IG posts ever.

-Speaking of, real dad conundrum here. G is obsessed with FIFA. Fine, I played it endlessly in college, posterboard tournaments and all. He likes to play as teammates, also fine, but the little bastard won't pass. He's just a really ****** teammate and it's getting worse not better.

He also acted embarrassed when said "ILU" while walking him to the door of summer camp. So we're going to be dealing with unpacking that for a bit. May need to bring back GYERDAD.

-Not sure if I mentioned but joined the Camp Chef pellet grill fam. If 80 is passionate about a grill that's all the recommendation I need. May add the sear box but apparently you can remove a grate and get 650 direct heat. That's plenty. I'm skeptical of pellet, as it seems like cheating, but saw it explained as essentially an outdoor convection oven with smoke. I can deal with that, 75% of my cooking these days in convection setting on the oven.

The thought of anth telling me what sides to order at Ruby's while scanning the place to see who else is there makes me absolutely nauseous this Thursday morning.
Lol, from the guy that wears a button up to a football game b/c he's worried about running into a client. Wears a coat and slacks to Thanksgiving. Speaking of being nauseous, imagine being that uptight, and worried about your appearance.

We sit in the private room, pal. Because we're ballers and the only people I care about are at the same table.

NBA Draft randoms....

- Three later picks I think will stick....Ayo Dosumnu, Quentin Grimes, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl

- Usually there are 3-4 guys taken in the first round who scream "BUST" to me, but I'm just not seeing it this year. Not that they'll all make it, obviously, it just seems like a draft where most of the assumed first-rounders have a skill set that can work in today's NBA.

- Gotta remember to mute Shams and Woj on Twitter around 7:30 tonight.

- Pretty much a given that the Orlando Magic will draft some freak athlete with super-long arms who can't shoot, because that's just what they do (outside of picking Cole Anthony last year).

- Remember when Shane Battier used to interview the players right after they were picked? Those were dark days, man.

- John Hollinger of The Athletic has become my favorite NBA follow on Twitter. Former front-office man who can break down actual on-court action, salary cap moves, and draft strategy with equal aptitude.
