You guys are getting excited about transfers? That's where our program is right now? John Wall, Cousins and Bledsoe to Carr, Tshiebwe and Grady. FFS... have some self respect.

This is the #1 player in the country, if we were getting excited over him instead you'd have the same take because you're miserable.

I agree, but if he was coming here there are plenty of people here that would mock any excitement because of the way he looks.

-If he actually plays CBB it'll be the Zags last I heard.

-I like the Carr addition. He shot 36 and 34% the previous 2 seasons. Legit PG, and like cricket said, should have options on the wings to distribute. Granted I know we'll just be dumping the ball to O, Collins and Ware the whole season.

I'm just done with our recruiting pitch. It worked when we got guys that could play 1 productive season then head to the NBA. Not so much when we whiffed on the elite guys, got the next level talent that wasn't good enough to start in CBB, but already determined to be a 1 and done. I'd take a 5th year senior al/air over the possibility of a Boston, Askew, Clarke, Dragon, Vanderbilt, etc. Which has really become the norm rather than the exception.

IMO, recruiting should revert back to where it used to be. Great kids, hard workers, focused on development. Grab a stud or 2 per class if you can get it but don't put all your eggs in a basket and get played like with Cade, Zion, Brown, and on and on.

I don't think it's a pitch. Unfortunately, I think it's who we attract at this point.

They're certainly selling we can get you to the league. Maybe it's all they got right now. But yeah, it's certainly who we are. I'd just rather have the guys that have been humbled before arriving.

Thanks man! Let me know if he’s excited to talk! Could drop some knowledge on his team about intake/outtake, creating and protein. A lot of people unfamiliar with these topics.

Anyone that goes into a season for their favorite form of entertainment that they have no control over with an optimistic and positive attitude is a dipshit. Do you go into a movie expecting it to be good? Start a new series expecting to enjoy it? Didn’t think so. So you dumbasses can stop acting like we might be good next year.

First I’ve heard of Chet bring skinny, actually.

When we shoot and hit a ton of 3's for the year, I guess I'll believe it. If we can find some guys that can hit anything at a decent clip, we should see improvement (per J Scott):

YearOur FG%Their FG%
2014-1546.835.4
2015-1647.839.7
2016-1747.342.4
2017-1847.240.4
2018-1947.740
2019-2046.139.4
2020-2141.741.3

They were a pretty good team but nothing we don’t see annually.

There are pretty good teams each year? That is a jaw dropping bullet, right there.

It is hilarious watching the usual suspects make every attempt at downplaying this Gonzaga team, and the same thing would have happened had they won. They had a very good team, and their schedule is irrelevant....you play who you play, and that is out of their control. The fact remains that they (and Baylor) overcame a helluva lot of obstacles to even get to last night. This was a 10 pt game at the half, despite Baylor essentially dominating the first 20. We all have seen games flip that had the same first half script as last night.

And Vern....no, you can't name 50-75 teams better than them. There are always the same critics who spout more than they can carry on intelligently.....they only played double digit seeds, they only played XYX from the YMCA conference, blah blah blah ......

As Chad said....they were a pretty good team......who made it to the title game. So much for all of the teams this year that were better than they were. I guess they weren't pretty good.

A reasonable "best case scenario" for the rest of the Kentucky offseason...

- Mintz and Brooks return
- Add Marcus Carr and another shooter from the portal (CJ Fredrick?).
- Tony Barbee takes the newly-opened job at UTEP, where he went 82-62 as a head coach before flaming out at UMass
- Joel Justus takes a job somewhere, anywhere. Maybe Western Carolina. Maybe that new Joella's out in Hamburg. Doesn't matter, really.
- Cal brings back Antigua to take Justus' spot. Then, to replace Barbee in the "one of Cal's dudes" spot on staff, brings in a former player with connections, like Dana Dingle, who runs an AAU program in NYC, and can cut his teeth on college basketball coaching by learning the ropes while more experienced guys do the actual grind work.
- Cal watches any championship-level basketball from the past 12 months and realizes that he needs to change things up. Decides to put Brooks at the 4 and go with three guards in the starting lineup: Carr, Mintz, Grady, Brooks, and Oscar. Hickman/Fredrick/Allen/Toppin/Collins off the bench. Hopkins and Ware as opportunities present themselves.

Odds of this happening? UNDER.

Toledo, EMU, Ark, Mizz, Vandy, UTM

The AFLAC duck at QB would win these 6 games. Stoops and Gran were hardly Lombardi-esque here.

And just because.

This is a mismatch. It's also Franklin against Stoops. If Penn St plays anywhere close to their best they win by 3 touchdowns.

Watching Phil presser on 'Live From', and after 7 questions, 3 of them have been from little woke *** females asking the about Georgia Vote thing + the history of discrimination from Augusta National ages ago, and how does that affect his feelings about the tournament blah blah blah.

He finally had to say he's not discussing politics. God I hate people.
