Sunday is my day to sleep in, and I've been known to pull 12 hour snooze fests on occasion.

I use to do a night or two per week with only 3-4 hours of sleep. Somewhere around 32 that became an absurd notion.

-My dog wakes up every morning at 5AM and his super attuned to any movement in the bed that indicates we make be waking up. As a result, I am up typically every day at 5:30AM. I am crashing by 10PM and usually want to be in bed before that.

-Signed up for the mini-marathon. Kind of sucks that you are running most of the miles in Indiana. Not very nervous but I haven't ran more than 10 miles. I did get new shoes yesterday to replace some Shoe Carnival beaters that I have been running in since October. Curious to see how a Brooks shoe feels (probably about the same).

Anyone like gin martinis? My wife loves them and I just don’t get it. Only time I’ve enjoyed a few was when we visited PTI and had lunch at Commander’s Palace and they cost a quarter.

- Mornings are the best. Saturday morning is my favorite time of the week.

- I generally enjoy eclectic snobbery- but it’s a fine line between amusing and annoying. Like BBdK being a pizza snob cracks me up. Obviously, all of us here are sports snobs. I love the music snobs in my life. But it’s a slippery slope.

FTR I appreciate their knowledge and think it's a fine hobby, but the bourbon balls are ripe for mockery.

And I was grumpy last night before my 10:30 bedtime. And I like Wilderness Trail.

All bourbon tastes the same regardless of distillery, mash, age, or finish.

-Spain would change most anyone's opinion on Gin, imo. Gin Bars there are basically like Bourbon bars here. London Rosewood has an amazing one, as well. Very complex spirit, but I can understand why anyone's initial reaction would be one of confusion, especially if it was just a well G&T somewhere.

Not too unlike peaty Scotch in that regard, imo -- pretty sure nobody ever takes their first sip of that and immediately thinks "OMG this is incredible"; at least I didn't, but worship now.

Feel like most all liquor is an acquired taste, to differing degrees.

I know several recovered alcoholics, and Vodka was their spirit of choice b/c it was easiest to both SLAM and conceal. Anth is the only one I know who doesn't really drink it.

Speaking of bourbon, my Bourbon Derby raffle donations are really coming in. We have over 80 bottles. There will be over 30 winners.

Some of the better bottles so far are an Old Fitz 16-yr, Old Ripy, Old Rip Van Winkle 10, Elmer T Lee, Stagg Jr., Ky Owl Confiscated, Willet Potstill, a handful of Blantons, a handful of Weller Full Proof, EH Taylor Small Batch, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, a Makers Mark 1996 Denim, a Woodford branded with a UK logo & a couple of McKenna 10s.

I'll have details on how to enter next week. The drawing will be on the Friday before the KY Derby. Donations will be $10 a chance.

I'm a month into this low carb stuff. I'm not doing anything crazy just basically cutting out bread, pasta and your run of the mill junk food. Down 10 pounds.

It's a weird ride, though, when you change what you body is used to...about week two I lost a lot of weight quick and got lethargic, almost sick feeling for a couple days. Then it went away and I feel fine, my weight went back up a little (assuming that's basic water weight). I actually feel better than I did before. I can only assume it was basically sugar withdrawals.

Anyway, I don't get as hungry as I did which has cut out a lot of snacking, basically empty calories. I would like to get another 10 then gradually allow myself some cheat meals like pizza but sticking to the basic principles of the diet (yes I know stuff knocks you out of ketosis, etc, I'm just really trying to eat less and healthier).

From my experience with those fighting alcoholism... not all vodka drinkers are alcoholics, but all alcoholics love vodka. My grandfather, one of the many post-war alcoholics- who worked at a bourbon distillery when you could still take a flask home with you, still found room for plenty of bottom shelf vodka. He said it was just easier to drink in plain view and mixed with just about anything.

I dont have much for the clear liquors. I think its the smell that turns me away.

I like to grab the rare bourbons when the opportunity presents itself- but I probably have as many cheaper, readily available bottles in the house.

Spent a good bit of the night shop-vac'ing water. Obviously could've been worse- but still a long night. We are 1 week into spring and we've already had multiple days of stage 5 warnings- which some meteorologist said may only happen in the country 1 a year or even less. So at this point we all expect to be rubble by end of May.

I get giving the teams some days of rest, but I think, especially when you have kids living in a confined bubble, the NCAA could have expedited this tournament a little quicker. Get in, get out, get on with it.

Can confirm that, dated a girl once and at end of night when I’d pay the bill and she’d have 6 vodka sodas on there and I’d be like when the hell did that happen...We were there for 1.5 hours. Usually had to put her to bed every Fri and Sat night and most Tuesdays and Wednesdays as well.

Chad nailed it with that show -- crazy happening after crazy happening started to lose its luster after the first few seasons (which I loved) imo.

Still enjoyed, but didn't watch the most recent after it received near-unanimous **** reviews.

Also recommend Brooks Reitz's frozen gin and tonic. Mercy.
We lived on 4th (floor) Clay together sophomore year and dude hated our late night Halo capture-the-flag battles with the neighboring rooms. We took that **** seriously and he wasn't a fan of the hooting and hollering -- pretty sure he wanted to kill us several times.

Super nice guy. His entire Jack Rudy line (everything I've tried) is terrific.

- Coach Tony is going to have this team ready. We may not top Brax’s undefeated record, but we have bats pretty much through the whole lineup. Will be a fun season.

- Did a 31 day dry run that ended last week, best I’ve felt and slept in years. Trying to ease back in and find balance now.

- I’ve been doing IF since before it became popular, at least as far back as college, but it was never really by choice. Most days the thought of food in the morning just makes me nauseous.

- Body weight is going down, lifting weights are going up. All you can really ask for, right?

- Yeah, it’s kind of becoming cliche at this point, but I’m going to say it again anyway: listening to Stoops on the show yesterday has me ready to run through a brick wall.

- Hot take alert: two sports items that stir a lot of passion for some that I honestly don’t care about:

1. Announcers - I’ve always just tuned them out anyway (though this is mostly due to pretty severe hearing loss with which I was born); and

2. Uniforms - Just never have really paid attention or cared, though I can appreciate when a solid one is pointed out, e.g. UK Baseball’s current line.

- He had a lot of bad movies, but Fraser’s run of Airheads and Encino Man is about as good as gets for me when talking mindless, fun, 90’s comedies. Say somethin’, Josh.

- We thought about taking CF up to Wrigley for his first Cubs game on his birthday weekend next month. Lass looks up tickets. Start around $300. Maybe next season.

- Going to the Keeneland clubhouse with some friends on April 10th. Will be the first time back in a year and a half. Pretty excited.

- It’s obviously a totally different mindset and not at all a true test of who’s “best,” but match play is awesome. Funny how some golfers just become different players entirely for it.

- Sad confession: still never been to Vegas. Which is made even more sad by the fact that we have friends (one of whom is a pretty prominent poker pro) who live there we can stay with any time.

- Almost time for that first mow of the year. I mean, we just live in a lowly Mt. Vernon shack, but I still try to have some pride and keep it looking nice.

- Gin Blossoms Pandora Radio FF:
1. Hey Jealousy
2. Spin Doctors - Two Princes
3. Del Amitri - Roll to Me
4. Oasis - Wonderwall
5. Follow You Down

Axe's wife was one of the worst acted characters in the history of television. She was always the running joke of people watching the first couple of years, iirc. Team Spiros, though.

-mrs Rudd has the occasional gin martini...there are some snobby small batch "botanical" bottles she likes.

-re: music snobbery/gnr. When i bought the 180g copy of appetite a few weeks ago...the hipster dude at the shop was like "doesn't seem like something you'd be into given your other purchases"...told him I've aged out of being too hip/cool for stuff, and this is the best straight rock n roll record of its era.

^point being we cheat ourselves out of sometimes because something isn't "niche", or whatever.

Of course its the fans fault. Has nothing to do with us having the worst season in school history and playing an antiquated offense going through big men. That CAN'T be why he picked the best team in the country who's scoring 90+ a game and is undefeated.

I feel like Kyle is projecting his personal feelings.
