- Quick trip to HHI was much needed. Low 70's, ocean breezes, acoustic guitars being played outside, just busy enough to be lively but no waits anywhere. Had a lunch burger because I'm trash.
- I've reached the age where I wake up unprompted on the last day of vacation, can’t go back to sleep and decide to hit the road to "beat traffic". Lass begrudgingly agreed and slept in the car while I listened to podcasts uninterrupted. Heady play.
- One thing I’ve realized over the last year of being home so much is I have very little desire to watch anything on tv anymore.
- Don’t care what Cal says about anything... fix it and move forward.

-How do my two favorite teams have the most generic uniforms and gear in all of sports? Both from historic franchises/programs. Very frustrating, tbh.
-Been a bit since I've done French Lick but I really had a great time at Beaumont. The Old Owl Tavern is back open. World class bourbon bar. Cheap. Very quiet place out in Harrodsburg. French lick does have a TON of activities, really all kinds of fun stuff to do. Blackberry is absolutely on the to do list but that's probably 22. Biking, Fishing, Wine, Bourbon, Food. That place is made for me.
-Shot 2 today. Get that juice in me.
-My yearly "back is out" of whack. Ugh. Can't sit, can't stand, can't lie down. Chiro shames me for waiting a year b/w appointments. Just the absolute worst. Bombed it with the tens machine and massage gun, a bunch of stretching, and a good adjustment seemed to have done the trick. Can't imagine having chronic back pain.
-I'm a get home ASAP once vacation is over. Not rational but I HATE lingering around and leaving late. I also hate delays, stopping for long meals, etc. Just get in the car early, hold the f*ck on, and I will get you home in record pace. Piss in a bottle or cup. If flying, get me on the earliest flight available with the tightest layover. Guess once that mindset changes from vaca to over I just want it actually over.
-Good luck stopping people after this weekend. 60 and full sun. Bring it. Good lord this is going to be amazing. Crisp nights, fire up the pit. Yeah buddy.
-Should be starting my pre game workout in some random city in the midwest or south. Shaking off the booze from last night. Listening to KSR. Same uk workout gear as always. Athletic Dept folks getting their elliptical on. Chatting up the usual characters in the lobby. Getting texts from ap.com, beans, hawes, etc on where to meet for drinks and lunch. Trying to talk bbdk into a last minute trip. HE literally stole my joy.

Orange, Va to my house in 9 hours, 45 minutes. That's 700 miles on one stop for gas in Knoxville. Wife was instructed to pee and get anything she wanted to drink/eat while fueling up.
Currently playing God of War, a game that’s about father-son relationships and murdering everyone in sight. I’ve learned that the family that slays together, stays together. Every time my boy chokes a hellspawn with his bow while I cleave its head open with my axe, I get a little misty-eyed.
My understanding is that Clarence Carter made one song called “Strokin’” and then retired because there was nothing of note left to be done.

So my son’s school, instead of recess, socially distances kids by giving them squares to hang out in during mask breaks. My son didn’t like that and unbeknownst to me wrote a Declaration of Independence from the stupid squares, got his teacher and class to sign it, and marched it to the principal’s office. The principal originally told us- after we heard about this- to tell our son not to get his hopes up. Well, last night we got a notification from the school that recess policies were being changed and the kids can play like normal now if they want to.

I just watched the Muscle Shoals documentary in the last week. It's crazy how big of an impact that little studio had on music.

We were down in Tunica at the casinos, late 90's. Clarence was playing one of the lounges, had a blast dancing with middle aged (non-white) women. After the show one of my buddies goes up to the stage to thank CC, holds his hand out and cant figure why CC isnt shaking his hand. We just let the awkwardness play out.
Barstool’s Trivia Show, “The Dozen,” which is great btw, just had a NCAAT episode with Doug Gottlieb as a surprise guest. Rico Bosco ***** on him the whole time and the questions/format are really good. A nice little amuse-bouche for today, IMO.

- Owner of Texas Roadhouse passed yesterday, mid 60’s. Just crazy.
- My wife man, smooth AF. Convinced me that the deck/outside stuff needs updating and if done right outside game watching etc would be awesome.
Hell yes it would, so handed her the debit card and said “surprise me”. Have a nice tall table that has a fire pit in the middle now for the colder evenings(and for s’mores) 6 nice chairs, a tote for all my Treager pellet bags, and a new TV with mount.
Just really nice! I’m ready for games all weekend sitting outside in beautiful weather, smoking wings and in general drinking until I’m stupid.
Walk out front this morning g to get to my work truck and realize there are about 40 bags of mulch, grass seed, fertilizer, trimmers etc etc
Go in with a WTF statement written all over my face apparently because without asking she says “oh hey I forgot to tell you I brought work home for the weekend too, that I need done before games start!”
Talk about dangling a carrot.
