Chief,

Cash in some stock and buy a plane ticket to Key West.

Meet up with Rogue.

Either get laid or get f*cked.

I am sure both can be arranged for you.

Pretty great how Booker posts on Facebook about his bike mishap and all non-GYERO-er comments are like "Get well soon" and "Thoughts and prayers" while GYERO-er comments are making fun of his fitness levels, offering to come over and shoot him, mocking the post, etc.
A real “thoughts and prayers” vs. “pumps and fires” dichotomy going on there

The last game featuring Mash/Chaney has to be one of the top 10 regular season games in UK history. Both superb teams playing some absolutely high level basketball.
Yep 93. legendary display of basketball It’s floating around on YouTube. I just watched the entire game about a month ago. Chills

1990 Derby Festival Classic at Freedom Hall featured Mash, Damon Bailey, Montross, Rozier, Dwayne Morton, etc.

There had to be 19,000 people in attendance. What a wodie event back in its heyday.
Rack. Was effing *glued* to the CJ airy day waiting for the lineups.

Judging you by the internet you had to be a big Winn Dixie’s / Cabbage Patch Streetball Showdown honk....man I worshipped that event.

- introduction to witnessing legit street fights among players/fans etc. Chairs used as weapons.
- the angling amongst potential players to get on to better teams at school....sorry Billy, you’re not going to cut it for this 4 man roster. Better luck next year.
- “Court Monitors” lol nope...
- ^ speaking of....always some roving teams of corn fed Indiana yokels that, while they could ball, were suuuch little bitches. They were going to the rack with reckless abandon with an immediate FOUL FOUL FOUL CHECK BALL
- get a draw on 1st or 2nd street you had to deal with A. The curve of the street/gutters....baseline Js were essentially on 11.5’ goals B. OH AND ******* PARKING METERS STILL IN PLACE WHICH MEANT INSTANT MAIMING / TRAUMA

/ memory lane....glorious

Feds got really, really serious a few years back about foreign income/undeclared foreign accounts. The penalties are harsh.

That was one of the top 3 games I’ve seen in person. Was a freshman at UK that year, snuck a buddy in with my roommates student ID, sat 4 rows off the floor behind the basket. Same side of the floor where IU came out the tunnel. A young AW really let Bobby Knight exactly how he felt about him. Mash/Ford going back and forth with Cheaney and that big white Honk, Evans I think, all scored 29pts. Mash hit ghat little fade away to put us up right in front of us. Had a perfect look at Bailey’s heave from half court, it was right on line. Good times

I took a look at the box scores of when the UK/IU was at its fever pitch (IMO).

The free throw disparity is ridiculous

Free throws
1990: UK 19/26....IU 33/44....UK loss

1991: UK 9/14.... IU 30/39...UK win

1992: UK 9/17...IU 18/36...UK win

1993: UK 21/32....IU 30/42 IU win

UK: 58/89 and IU 111/161

I know UK probably shot more 3’s but that is crazy. The post 1993 games vs Knight had so many fewer free throws. Touch IU. Those games made me sick as a kid and it sure as hell looks like Knight got a favorable *** whistle

It was complete horseshit. Crooks.

Turned 53 today. Have a old knee injury from my high school football days. No cartilage in my right knee. Got up out of the recliner last night to get a fresh Miller Lite and the bones in my knee went in different directions and the awful sound of bones grinding and popping, I knew what was next. Every step I take (Non Bobby Brown), it feels like needles poking into my knee. Pain is level 10 today and knee is swollen twice its normal size. Happy Birthday to me.
What sucks is, at any moment with no advance warning if I walk up a step or any sudden movement, my knee will collapse and "down goes Frazier". Have had several embarrassing tumbles. Most embarrassing was a few years ago we had a get together of about 15 friends. I was coming out of the laundry room exit and into the garage where all the guest were listening to music and shooting pool. I stepped down the step, knee gives out and fell thru a pub table on top of my wife (she was sitting at the table), then into the side of her vehicle and then to the floor. Everyone BUT me and wife laughed their *** off.

How to know if others consider you old.

If you fall down and ...

(a) Others laugh at you, they still consider you young.

(b) Others rush up to help you, they consider you old.

-I've been trending back to fishing for a couple years and after this last year I'm back in firmly. Baseball, basketball, wrestling, skiing, and fishing were pretty much my only interests up through college, then it became only while on vacation for some reason. Unfortunately, skiing is even worse. That's like twice in the last 15 years.

Fishing is just a good long term father/son activity and takes you some damn cool places.

-Haven't eaten McD's non-breakfast menu in a decade or more. The breakfast is the #1 hangover choice tho. Large Coke, sausage egg mcmufin, hashbrown, sidecar burrito.

-Jean Shepherd, is the narrator, and the story is based on his life. If you haven't read In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash it's a fantastic light read. Just a bunch of hilarious short stories. "Ludlow Kissel and the Dago Bomb that Struck Back" is amazing.

-Got a little too loose with the weekday beverages as I've been hankering the last 2 nights a bit more than I'm comfortable with. Implementing a firm M-W rule outside of a special occasion. Thursdays are optional.

-IU is on 30 years of being a 3rd tier program. We've had 2 program defining great runs in that time period.

It all begins and ends with that Large Coke.

Yeah, those chicken sandwiches aren't gonna be on the menu long, especially when you're putting it up at the same price as Popeyes and Chick Fila.

Smaller pieces of chicken, not as tasty. Try again McDonalds
