That was a high quality basketball team half. Hell of a turnaround from 50 point games beginning of the year. Let’s get one complete game here.

I predict we will try to set the tone and assert dominance early in the second half running a Sarr post up play in the first few possessions.

Even Askew driving for a layup with 30 seconds left in the half and not milking the clock is a step forward.
Go play to win, be aggressive. Shoot 90% of your shots with more than 10 seconds left on the shot clock. This is the way Cal’s teams used to play at Memphis and his first few years here.

First time I’ve seen replay of that Nova 3 for the championship since it happened, what 3/4 seasons ago?

Meanwhile I know I’ve seen Christian Laettner’s shot against us at least 20 times since then.

That 3 was magic!

No blood in the second half with 6 plus left. Gladly take that. Finish this thing off in style, boys.

I'd love to see our first half shot chart vs. the 2nd half. We were 3s and layups in the first half. When we strayed from that we were pretty damn lucky and made a lot of them anyway. But this half has been lazy jump shots all the way. Luckily UT doesn't seem to be able to do much about it because we've played pretty good defense here. Lot of improvement to like thus far, but our offensive coaching is still a work in progress.

Why are we taking 17 foot jumpshots?

Because, for whatever reason, Cal thinks shooting 3's are riskier.

We're 1-3 in the half from 3. Our second half game plan wasn't a mystery. We were going to make the court small and grind it out. Our defense has pitched a shutout, allowing us to extend the lead in spite of our horrendous shooting.

First game going overly big had its impact. Johnson, Pons and Fuckerson doing absolutely nothing in the post.

Toppin really coming into his own the past few games. Defense, rebounding and mid range. Solid.
