Back when I played big time beer league softball the Indian-Americans would sometimes be playing cricket in the field next over. Mostly small in stature, they were chucking the F out of that ball at each other while us red-blooded tough guys were carefully lobbing it across the plate to be hit. Always made me chuckle.

Never been able to do softball. Just hate the whole culture, softball jocks, Oakleys, goatees, barbed wire tats, roided up and bragging about hitting an 11 mph pitch 315 feet with a souped up turbo bat 😆

edit: this is not my mental picture of SAE

- As BBdK said, absolute blast in Vegas for NYE. BBdK knows every trick there is and is as knowledgeable about that place as anyone.

Super dope they closed Las Vegas Blvd down on NYE and you could roam the actual street.

I went as hard as I've gone in probably a decade. Went 80+ hours straight partying/gambling.

Been back in NC since Tuesday and haven't left my bed.

- New girlfriend in the mix.

- Joe Manchin is about to become a star in the Senate.

- 2020 was my best year financially by far. Been taking full advantage of these next couple months off with travel, etc.

- Adult kickball is huge in NC. All of my friends are in various leagues, as well as my 70 year old mother, who is in the same league as some of my derelict friends. She plays with a bunch of her work friends from Wake Forest. Cracks me up when I see her rocking her "Kegs 'n Legs" team shirt.

- Mountain getaway next week with the girl.

- Cats by 5 tomorrow.

I'm very impressed by this. I played with the kids and some dads in the neighborhood a few weeks ago and I felt like my knee was disintegrating every time I kicked the ball hard.

Circling back to bowling - like anything else in GYERO, there are no doubt a few people in here who KNOW they are the best, so who are you?

It's going to be someone weird & quirky. Hyman, Cawood, Joey are my guesses. Possibly Vern.

- I don’t feel terrible but I’m definitely a little off after yesterday’s vaccination. Cloudy head, achiness, etc.

Got my first dose yesterday as well (thru work) and haven't noticed anything other than some slight pain in my shoulder.

Brooks should have an significant impact on this team. Not necessarily because I expect him to score a bunch of points, but that it's adding a guy to the floor who knows what they're supposed to be doing.

A significantly underestimated problem this season that I believe has hurt guys like Boston and Clarke is them having to share the court with an entire group of guys who are/were clueless as to their responsibilities. I don't think it's a coincidence that the 2 freshmen expected to produce the most are the ones that have had the biggest struggle making chicken salad out of our chicken **** offense.

I might end up looking like an idiot, but I fully expect Boston to have a 4-5 game stretch by mid February where he's averaging 20+ ppg.

* Jemarl Baker was 1-7 from the field against USC last night, and 1-14 the previous game against Washington State. Is that good?

I watched way too much of ASU-UCLA last night thinking it was going to be a chance to see both Juzang and Baker. #DOH

Team shoes don't really move me either way, but I'd prefer they kept it to team colors/neutral stuff. I just don't really get the desire to have Sharpee colors on. Maybe it's not for my old *** to get. I'm sure my parents didn't understand some of the clown clothes I wore, either. I'd take rainbow-colored shoes, though, if it would mean UK and Nike get together on a new set of uniforms with good-looking alternates.

I'm a natural at this. Had the high score as a young teen in Myrtle Beach and followed-up with another at a trade show many years after proving the first wasn't a fluke.

It's been over a decade but I averaged 204 in a summer league. Had a sick 14lb storm ball with tight hook. Threw a bud light straight ball for spares.

I don't understand the finer points, because I grew up in the USA, but cricket fascinates me. Maybe somebody can tell me why it sometimes takes DAYS to finish a match?

We've vacationed a couple of times in Aruba. That stuff is on 24/7 on their version of ESPN. I was so confused by what I was watching. I imagine people from other countries are doing the same with baseball or football.

Vern is a quality bowling name.

Honeymoon in St Lucia was the same way. I guess there big tournament was going on while I was there so one of the resort guys would explain it to me the whole week. Fun to watch.

Not the best bowler in here, but my average used to be 187 with my personal best being a 283.

No interest whatsoever in a league but have been floating the idea of a winter night bowling doubledate to the lass for year. Pitcher of brew. Good times.

Took the moderna vaccine Tuesday and was incredibly sick until last night. Body aches, headache, nausea. 800 mg of ibuprofen pretty much took care of it but had to stay on top of it. No thanks on having that **** seriously for two or three weeks, good lord. I’m the only one I know that got sick from it.

Turn 40 in April. My father was 44 when he had me so for whatever reason that still makes me feel young. We moved to America when he was fifty, from a multiple story 3 bedroom home to a 3 bedroom 600 square foot apt in a totally new country without any savings. He retired 12 years ago and is very comfortable financially, so that always gives me good perspective.

Got a bottle of the luxardo maraschino cherries for Xmas. Amazing how that 8 dollar gift was my highlight. My manhattans at night have been a joy.

I don’t know with this team. I will say the wins provide a feeling of joy versus relief and anger that they were “as close as they were”. Typically I would be pissed and annoyed barely escaping MSU and Vandy but not this year, just happy. So that’s nice.

Football playoffs are great, one of the best parts about college is Saturday games. Can’t imagine being a huge NFL fan and regularly getting hammered on Sunday’s.A day off before a full week of work is crucial.

I deserve all the **** for this but I got a pair of Tommy Bahama jeans 3 years ago and they’re my favorite pair of jeans ever. Outside of the palm trees lining the inside of the pockets you would never know. My other pair is Lucky, which seem fine.

Ringer last night bowled 228/214 -- and his straight ball was Miller High Life :joy: Is that a regular thing to have your 2nd ball be a domesto?

Also, please believe I will have a full arsenal of ridiculous & unnecessary equipment sooner than later, Anth style. [winking]

-Get pumped Chad. You're the least essential person I know.

I'm horribad at bowling, and I have no idea why. Just awful. I enjoy going, though, for purely social reasons.

I am not bullshitting when I say I used to be world class at that. It's all form. You do a crow-hop, then throw a right hook and make sure you rotate your hips through. I was HUGE in Istanbul one night on this (where those machines are everywhere).
