Our **** tier threads are only magnified by the 1000 "individuals" who insist on wearing sneakers that are pink/green/whateverthetouchanthraciteis.

You can wear a primary white color way with blue or the inverse. That's it. That's the list.

I only started caring about this when we were 1-6.

Ha- my college roommate has been bitching about this for 10 years. He texts me “team shoes!” at least 7x a season. It was his chief issue with Marquis Teague.

I know i will continuously slap my face for saying this while watching upcoming games, but i think we are going to be pretty tough to beat in conference play with Brooks. We have a legit shot to get over .500.

I think we have 16 games left before the SEC tourney, if played (including Texas). Ill go 10-6 the rest of the way to put us at 13-12.

Props to Manhattan Project for setting up a solid Happy Hour spot. Half off drafts between 4-6 and some agreeable apps. It also doesn’t hurt to have some dece 80’s and 90’s tunes playing in the background and a few attractive and pleasant bartenders pouring your 24 ounce domesto draft of choice. I believe the same deal is applicable when the Kates are playing.

-Seems like a card shop show has some potential. Similar to the Pawn Shop guys. "I know a guy that might know something about this card... care if I call him?" Just be goofy and loud, seems to work. That stuff appeals to all ages. Good luck, Brady.

-I don't think there are any less f*cks I could give than about our shoes. Young dudes, including my kid, absolutely worship that ****. We did too. Hare Jordans? Rebook Pumps? Our generation started all the neon stuff. Now, the uniforms are not only awful looking, they're also old and worn out. The only reason they haven't been updated is because fans and Mags ***** about them. I'm 100% convinced of that.

-Great to get Brooks back but I mainly happy for my bestie Joshie. That dude deserves this.

-I love the optimism but 10-6 in the SEC seems like a stretch. Just my opinion. Still a very pissed at the Fat Wop. Land Big Oscar and we'll be back on decent ground though.

-Don't trust any local covid numbers this week. Back log from 2 holiday weeks. The hospital numbers are steady, that tells you what you need to know. The "cases" are from Holiday delay and just so happen to be really large on the day HB-1 was passed. K. Same tired trick we've seen all year. Worldwide, it's burning pretty good though. Right in the heart of the sick season. Mouthwash, Vitamin D, Zinc, Vitamin C, Elderberry... y'all.

-Dr. Jekyll Pre Workout for dad. I like my morning coffee so no stimulant is the play unless I want to feel like I'm having a heart attack post workout. My Protein for mid-morning shake.

-Taking little man to get his first pole and tackle box tomorrow morning. He's going to pick the Dude Perfect set. I just know it.

-In need of a good massage.

-Smashburgers this evening. First run on the now well seasoned new flattop.

-My craft beer take is well established. I'm fine with one every now and then. If not, Bud Light or Coors Banquette handgrenades for me.

The shoe situation - now that you all pointed it out - is worse than the hair. Tell them they can get whatever shoes they want provided they are blue and white.

Suzie Derkins has a Facebook page profile of her wearing a mask and saying “safer at home”. Total Karen. Plus she’s frumpy and still has a mom haircut.

Made breadsticks last night that would put Olive Garden out of business. Tonight Pizza.

Never have gave much of a **** what shoes the team wears. When was the last time they all wore the same, maybe early Tubby era?

Read multiple articles about melatonin helping stave off the bug as well. Wonder how that sleep aid factors in?

- Manhattan Project is solid, just wish it wasn't buried way down Frankfort ave. Tons of food a brown water options. Great place for private parties as well. Need a local wildcat friend game watch party there this season.

- No adult besides Wildcat Willy should wear a jersey, but hockey sweater, that's a whole nother thing. Very cosmopolitain yet metal at the same time. Should be encouraged for sports fans winter wear.

There’s some good stuff going on in that area of Frankfort Ave, Bonz. Gallant Fox Brewing, The Champagnery and other staples. You’re also not far at all from St Matthews, NuLu or downtown.

The Champagnery is definitely a hen post but the 3 times I’ve been there with the Lass for some post dinner cocktails my goodness.....There was some serious heat everywhere. You being a successful, single man in the prime of your life should crush that place.

Aren’t we all getting our hopes up with Cal playing Brooks at the 4?

The ideal lineup would be Askew, Mintz, Allen, Brooks and Sarr but let’s all prepare ourselves for Brooks at the 3.
Only hope is he went small at the end of last game. Hopefully he learns. Need at least 2 or 3 scoring threats out there at once. Which has always been my complaint with his erratic lineup changes, typically mid 2nd half, that are defensive minded. "Dude, we get it, he let a defender go by and missed a rebound," but you can't have only 1 player on the floor that can put the ball in the basket efficiently.

If this starting lineup can't break 70ppg I don't know what we can do with the old bastard, tbh. Everyone of those guys can shoot.

Mintz - Boston
Allen - Clarke
Brooks - Toppin
Sarr - Jackson - Ware

I'm admittedly way too into basketball fashion. Have a modest collection of Jordans and various other sneakers. But this is what I was talking about for retro shorts For the gym, walking the dog, etc.

I'm no slouch and think even rudd1 would approve of my daily fits, but I love retro sports apparel. For the record, I'd never rock a cricket sweater -- maybe when I'm like 70.

Randos:

-Vegas for NYE w/ Tommy was a blast. I hung with him the 1st two nights deep into the morning, and on the final day was DUNZO & barely left my hotel except to watch Kates, no drinking or gambol. The anatomy of my Vegas trips are the same each and every time.

...that guy, however. All Timer performance - didn't even go to bed until day 4 iirc.

Have finally graduated to $25 blackjack. Still not my preference, but harder and harder to find anything less these days out there unless you're downtown. Big swings, but winning money comes a lot quicker when you're hot.

Heading back for the Conference Tourney weekend again -- perfect year to do it for all you having a hard time breaking up with Nashville. Hopefully this year it's not cancelled as I'm checking into the hotel.

-Finished up 2020 #1 producer in Louisville market. Worst year of my life overall, so was nice to have at least one bright spot.

-Bowling League finally started last night after many Covid delays. We're in the back building at Executive over by the airport, basically a little separate 'party' building with 8 lanes. Booze, Bowling, Food...and nobody was wearing masks & they didn't seem to care one bit. It was like a time capsule, and glorious.

The league is $44 for 7 weeks, which includes 2 games, free shoes, etc. Helluva deal. $3 Miller Lites. Good times.

-Parents got the moderna vaccine yesterday...b/c my stepdad is a farmer I guess he's deemed essential. They're both on the scared side, so that made me happy.

-Pallbearer in Somerset Wednesday for my grandmother's funeral - we weren't close, but was there to support Mom. Cops were called to the cemetery over a dispute between Son & Grandson. One of the most uncomfortable situations I've ever been involved in. Most people have a segment of family somewhere that's ridiculous, and that's mine.

-Trying not to fall for it....BUT, if we beat Florida w/ Brooks back this season takes on a whole new meaning w/ a least a glimmer of hope.

-GYERO consensus on best jeans these days? My primary are on life support.

-Dad got my lil bro the new Yeezys for Christmas. Lol, my god those things [sick]

-Man, the far Southwest stretch of 265 was just breathtakingly beautiful this morning.

-Finishing with a laugh, one of my all time favorites.

I can't find a pair of jeans I like these days. TS. Bonobos, meh. 7s and Joe's quality sucks or they're the super stretch kind. I do really like the Mott & Bow Mercer but I've only tried the khaki-ish colors as I wear them for work. Very comfortable and not too baggy.

-I bought a pair of the road throwback shorts when they were available. Embroidered and totally authentic. Probably my 2nd favorite piece of Wildcat apparel to my retro Nike K jacket. I still get cash offers on that thing when I wear it. It's my BIG GAME jacket, for sure.

-The One Minute Man on barstool is absolutely awful. I can't stand that asshat, his voice, or anything. /puke

-I probably spend too much time daydreaming and sketching out ideas for the house. Now thinking of going away from a Carolina style screened-in porch and just improving upon the brick patio that's already there; chimney, expand it a bit, landscaping, french doors and stairs out of the living room. Much more within reach and can be done in phases, I reckon. I'm talking F'n COLONIAL. Damn you pinterest.

-Congrats, Adrian. That's amazing and good for you, bub.

-Ordered a Mardi Gras flag for the house. Just the green/gold/purple (French template). We're celebrating it this year, damn it. I'm finding joy and festivity wherever possible. February 17 is Ash Wednesday which makes lent in the prime of March which is ideal. Related: need a good jambalaya recipe if anyone can help.

-I haven't had a sip since New Year's Day. Not a Dry January thing but I just have no desire to, even still. I think December may have been the drunkest month of my life and my mind/body is forcing sobriety upon me. It's a bit unnerving tbh.

-I'll do some coastal fishing with my FIL down at the beach but I just don't really enjoy it much. Wish I did.

-I'm not on the verge of a midlife crisis or anything but I guess the closer you get to 40 the more inventory you take of things? Old SAECATFAN turns 39 on the 20th and I've had a LOT on my mind lately. Most of it okay, but some stuff just coming out of nowhere. Odd.

-Pretty random Friday 5

Red Eyes - The War on Drugs
Charlie Don't Surf - The Clash
My Friends - Chili Peppers
Wish I Had Answered - The Staple Singers
Old Ties and Companions - Mandolin Orange

Wait, is it a card shop that features "gay" sports, or is it a card shop that gay people like to frequent? Replete with tasteful window treatments, scented candles, track lighting, Judy Garland music in the background etc.
High fashion, musical theater and interior decoration are perfectly acceptable male reactions after an insurrection.

80's Jamb is the best I've had. TS.

It's been said in here a million times, but it really is.

-Also, Cal had a quote last week actually talking about Brooks at the 4, for any of you good at researching. I'll believe it when I see it, but I was shocked when I read it.

-40 really messes with your head -- or, it certainly did mine, and still is.

You're not alone. Count down to mine is approaching fast. Gotta be less than 100 days at this point. Like you, I'm not depressed about it at all. Actually kinda the opposite. Just more, trying to figure some **** out, and wondering how the hell I got here. Thinking about few goals and clarifying priorities, etc.

I’ll be 43 this summer. The odd thoughts for me are about how much do the things I worry about really matter. You kind of start realizing that you actually do have a limited amount of time on earth. Not sure about the other guys on here with older kids like me (20 and 13) but you also start thinking about life when they aren’t in your home any more.

- 30 messed with my head more than 40. I took that one in stride. Much happier, confident and secure in myself at this stage in my life.

- Off my “new baby” and holiday season drinking schedule and back to tried-and-true Wed-Sat. Never had a casual mid-week buzz until I started dating my wife.

- I don’t feel terrible but I’m definitely a little off after yesterday’s vaccination. Cloudy head, achiness, etc.

- I hate out of context and deceptive headlines - so the “worst start since 1906” **** annoyed me.

- Biggest “looking ahead” thing for me right now is staying in east Newport or move to Ft. Thomas. Love where I live. My house is great and the wife and I have transformed it in three years- probably would make over $115grrr if we were to sell it. But I see the appeal of becoming a common cake-eating MFer like @Joey Rupption too for the kid.

I don't understand the finer points, because I grew up in the USA, but cricket fascinates me. Maybe somebody can tell me why it sometimes takes DAYS to finish a match?
