I can't with the "next year" stuff, I'll count them in for 21'-22' when they trot out onto the Central Bank Court At Rupp Arena Brought To You By Purnell's Old Folk's Country Sausage sporting the checkerboard silks.

Until then, I'll watch this season going into every game hoping Dontaie Allen scores 40 and shoots every time he touches the ball...memories of watching early season Dawg Carruth and the tunnel vision fascination I had with him for about half the year.

I'm with SK on looking at next year's roster. I couldn't give less of a **** about it right now, and I don't plan to until it's final. Not a GD chance I talk myself into a single one of these guys staying. If they stay, great! If they don't, well that's just a continuation of what happens here.

-choosing not to think about the future "state of the program". Living in the present.

-team has problems, but they're working on them. Watching/pulling for them is much better when:"One of ours" is making an impact. Kids are playing with effort. It appears our bullheaded coach is at least making *some* adjustments.

-sport is a diversion from the absurdity of modern life...the above makes it palatable enough to serve as such.

Best player on the floor? You bet

And it meant something to him to be called that.

“Kentucky was my dream school,” Pippen said afterward. “I was not heavily recruited. I was a three-star prospect coming out of high school, at most. I'm trying to prove everyone wrong, coming out with a chip on my shoulder and show that stars don't matter.”

He should count his lucky stars he didn't get recruited by us.

Props to the kid- if he’s like his dad, he’ll be proving people wrong for a long time.

Maybe it is because I don't follow recruiting very much but last night was the first time I heard of Kentucky being Pippen Jr's dream school and not getting recruited. Seems he is in a good spot for him to get to shoot all the balls and do whatever he wants.

I am now telling myself that our checkerboard unis actually represent a chess board in honor of Lexington's (fictional) hot chess prodigy, Beth Harmon.
sorry, but as for me and my house we only recognize one Harmon:

That guy knew how to run the wishbone.

Shew, would have done terrible things to a young Courtney Thorne-smith and Alotta Fagina.

My favorite Booooston move was the contested layup that wasn't blocked, never touched the rim and would have been a great no look pass to the Vandy player leading directly to a fast break for them.

The one where he looked at the ref for a foul before realizing it wasn't a foul that made the ball travel so far away from the basket?
