We’re now 2-0 in games I listen to Tom Leach call it while I’m at the gym so I guess I have to time all lifts accordingly the rest of the year.
But tbh I am at a point with college ball where I really prefer listening to it over watching it, which makes me feel 100 years old and also sad for the sport used to look like.

reading the Clowns in game redass after the game 😂😂😂😂

Maybe we should wear masks. Seems like both teams made every 3 they took. Sure as hell worth a shot with this team.

Bring it on, Clown. I would imagine I’ve played well over 20,000 games of backgammon. Had a crazy mother trucking Palestinian teach the game when I lived in Lexington, apparently it their game of choice if you will. He was also my coke dealer so you can imagine the fun times that ensued.
Maybe set up a gyerogammonlympics? I can beat anyone at at any given time, unfortunately, nature of the game, I can be beaten by anyone by anyone at any given time. Great game for certain players. Just have head in right place and and curtains drawn. ***-kickens only last a little bit, then play a new game.

The bad part is that the kids are hustling and playing hard. We are just really bad. I mean really, really bad.

I'm sure we will get slightly better but it is what it is this year. If we had any assurance that most of these guys would return, it would not be that big a deal. Even the best coaches occasionally have a clunker. We have some good talents who will eventually be good players but it isn't like there was a glaring talent difference between us and either Vandy or Miss State, either.

I kind of feel bad for Boston. He hasn't sulked or seemed to have been an attitude problem. He just isn't ready to play at this level. But hot damn is he really easy to not like if you are a Kentucky fan. It isn't his fault but he represents every thing that the Faithful wish Cal would change.

If we thought there was any chance he'd be back next year he wouldn't be booed. But those boos are for Cal and not him. Also, his dumbass haircut doesn't help but whatever.

- 🙄 "Where is Boston going?"

^Have you all not been paying attention the last decade? And not just at, but mainly at Kentucky.

-I have NO expectations for people returning. I would love to think Askew, Mintz, Allen, Jackson, Ware, Toppin, Fletcher, Brooks all return. Assuming we get maybe 1 or 2 of those guys back.

-I'm hoping Cal takes a similar approach with Boston as he did with Askew. It worked. Doesn't mean it won't cause BJ to shut down, where Askew took it as a challenge, but you can't afford to have him out there right now. He obviously understands that given he's been benched at the end of the last 2 games.

-Another slight change was that small ball lineup. Finally ditched the 2 bigs. Where we do have a sizeable advantage is athleticism and length, why negate that with slow plodding methodical offense and falling back on D? Get in passing lanes, get some easy transition buckets, sub Jackson for Sarr unless we're just playing a big lumbering 5, spread the court.

-Allen, Askew, Mintz, Baker, Juzang. Lol. The guy can bring in shooters. He just doesn't like using them.

I think the situation could cause the probability of returnees for next year to be different.

In the past we had top 30-50 dudes who didn’t really see much playing time as freshmen and saw higher ranked guys coming in. This year Ware, Toppin, Askew, and Allen are all seeing significant PT and I don’t see any ultra elite guys coming in next year that would automatically steal their clock.

I like what I’m seeing from Askew. He’s not explosive and I don’t know if he will ever be a 1st round pick but he’s tough, his handle is getting better and his shot will get better as he continues to get more comfortable with the speed of the college game. ****, a month ago he could hardly bring the ball up the court.

Askew is the kind of guard Kansas gets and keeps around for four years. We are way overdue for one of those.

My question was somewhat rhetorical as I know these guys leave before they're ready, but in Boston's case, he's trending towards EJ who did stick around a second year. I just don't see an NBA picking him in the first two rounds at this point.

Dontaie Allen had never played more than 9 minutes in a college basketball game until 4 days ago and hadn't played competitive basketball in nearly 2 years. So he is a great example of how experience matters.

I have a good feeling about Jackson returning. He will be the player we all wait on and he eventually decides to up his stock from late first/early second to try to become mid first round.

The kick in the balls in the Cal era has always been a guy like Ware. He could stick around for 4 years and be an awesome college player, but as far as the NBA is concerned, he just kinda is what he is. He's a high energy/athletic Javale McGee type. There's always a market for that in the NBA, but as Nick Richards found out, you're not really moving up the draft boards just by becoming a much more accomplished college big man.

So he's got to develop a great 3 point shot, or some point guard type skills -- otherwise, it doesn't really matter. Other programs convince those guys to stay......Cal coaches them to leave.

* Fake Titties > Fake Titles

* Marge and I have been sick. Just got the test results back - NO COVID. Surprised but happy.

* I hate Jon Sundvold as an announcer.

Obviously, we have to keep some of these players. I think a handful of players have been told they weren't ready by Cal, but they or their handlers ignore him. I think once they commit to leaving and ignore his advice, he publicly supports them and tries to help them get drafted.

Whatever. He just needs to do a better job of convincing them to stay. I think we all agree on that.

* Boston just sort of throws the ball in the general direction of the basket. In transition he finishes pretty well, but man, he's horrible in the half court.

* Players are going to lose minutes when Clarke comes back. And PT will become even harder to come by if Brooks' amputated calf grows back.

Going to be interesting to see how Cal manages it.

* I'm watching The Sopranos. I haven't watched it since the series ended. What a great show.

Wednesday Randoms:

- I never played basketball above a HS level, but I can see that Cal needs to change his ******** offense which is averaging around 62 points per game.

- Heading back to Colorado for the next two or three months to help finish up with the three greenhouses I invested in. For anyone who actually wants to invest in the cannabis game, I would suggest looking for local growers instead of those sh1tty @ss weed stocks.

- 2020 was a weird year.

- There is a lot of promise that we are building a football team. If Stoops *is* the man, we should compete for an SEC Championship Game every 8 years by my modest standards.

- The teacher (Miss Appleberry) from Coco Melon is way hotter than the mom @wcc31 , kinda concerning you chose the mom.

- Watching "The History of Europe" on Prime, great series.

you're not really moving up the draft boards just by becoming a much more accomplished college big man.

You're not?

A few examples of players who moved up the draft boards by becoming more accomplished college big men....

McGee played 2 yrs at highly regarded Nevada and was 18th pick.

Faried played 4 yrs at the juggernaut 60 miles to our east and was 22nd pick.

Sabonis from the Zags.

And a guy from UK who stayed 3 yrs and ended up as the #6 pick. WCS.

And if you don't think Richards would have vaulted up the ladder to a high 1st round pick had he stayed this year, then you really need to stick to running up mountains to talk to sheep.

Where in the touch is Askew going? He will start again next year. It’s not like when Juzang or Baker bolted bc supposed elite 5 star Burger Boys are coming in like Maxey, Boston or Clark.

Also, who is coming in next year to take minutes away from Allen or Ware? I’d say Allen will stick around bc his minutes will continue to increase plus he’s a Kentucky kid.

I would say that Boston, Clark and Jackson will all likely leave but there’s more than a solid CHAINCE that Ware, Toppin, Askew and Allen all stick around bc unlike in the past they’re all getting significant playing time their first year and we don’t have supposed elite studs coming in next year.
