Too much talk about Dontaie Allen. He’s like the unused backup QB - most popular guy on the team. Real focus needs to be on getting Boston and Clarke playing in synch with team. I do wonder how yesterday goes if Clark is 100%. Johnson and Jones really ended up controlling the game at the guard position and that may have gone differently if Clarke played more.

Anguish is coming from the fact that we are shooting like sh*t and Allen was a scoring machine in high school averaging 40+ points a game. Clarke and Boston playing like idiots and Allen gets pulled if he breathes wrong.

No there isn't. He averaged 40+ points in high school shooting from deep. If he were a 5 star, he'd log major minutes and get a million chances to play through mistakes. Allen is a microcosm for Cal's disdain for outside shooting and players that weren't as publicized as others on the roster.

Justin Powell wouldn't see the floor at UK either, and he is a better offensive player than anyone on our roster.

Allen is more of a microcosm of Cal’s disdain for local recruits. If Allen had scored 40 points a game in some other state he wouldn’t be getting this attention.

Yeah, you’re probably right. We wouldn’t want to mess with the cohesiveness of this finely tuned and we’ll oiled offensive machine.

I’m not disagreeing with that. But of all the things Cal has gotten wrong with this team, his not playing Allen is way down the list.

- Well ...
Outside shooting.
Outdated philosophy which minimizes threes.
OAD fatigue.
****** team.

^ So yeah, whatever Allen would give us, it’s more than just him. He represents a lot of our angst.

- Love how these announcers all year have completely ignored the fact the only guy who played for us last season has been hurt. Pretty indispensable guy and they haven’t mentioned him once.

Actually playing Allen or not is not that important. The fact Cal rubs it in BJW’s face after the game is very important. It’s obvious and demeaning at this point. The fans, this program, deserves some damn respect. Dressing like a drunk uncle, repeatedly saying everything but the truth, making fun of crazy fans, using Allen as a postgame joke....f him. If he just showed some maturity and leadership, some professionalism, I wouldn’t be that mad, really. I didn’t expect a damn thing this season, but I also didn’t expect a 1-6. Show some damn leadership.

I’m pretty demoralized. I actually thought that since Cal has owned UL that he would with his back against the wall change something. But he didn’t change anything. Same long scoring droughts. Weaves and handoffs from 35’, dribbling the air out of the ball. When Mintz hit that 3 with about 5:00 to play he made Askew back off the pressure in the backcourt. Speeding them up was working.

it was a realization that he is not changing and we are going to be screwed.

Killed me when Vitale kept harping on how we had "3 lottery picks".

Yeah, maybe once upon a time in fairyland, but not really now.
All 3 could improve 0% by end of the season and still be taken in the 1st round MINIMUM, a couple probably in the lottery.

That’s the issue with where the program is now. Guys just using UK for 8 months because they know the NBA drafts on a 3 year projection, not really where you are NOW. When guys suck NOW, it doesn’t help UK and still doesn’t hurt them. It’s a wash. They’ll still be gone after 1 year no matter what when there’s proof that a 2nd year can actually make you a much better player.

But why wait when someone will still draft you while you suck NOW.

The crux of the issues can be underlined in the fact that Kentucky is 1-6, looks plain awful, totally shittastic all around. Not a single All-Conference player on the team let alone All-American and yet most mock drafts still have 4 of the players projected getting drafted in Boston, Clarke, Jackson, and Sarr while Gonzaga is the runaway #1 team playing beautifully and bulldozing all the top ranked teams with only 3 projected picks and just 2 of em first round. It’s incredible.

It’s like John doesn’t understand that you can be a great college player without the NBA beating down your door.

Boston got his hands into the passing lanes a few times. I'm grasping at straws here.
Yeah, it was his best teammate performance for sure but he's still a long way from where he was billed. Cal can't really play him and Clarke together right now and that's a bit of a problem.

On the flip side, I'm not really putting a lot of stock into our guys being this bad. Sarr was an All-ACC player last year and hasn't scored a FG in the last 2 games. We've seen flashes from Clarke taking over during the ND game. Cal has this team so mind f*cked it's ridiculous.

We were running sets for Toppin and Ware yesterday. Lol. His two "best" players can't even be on the floor at the same time. He had a player leave the bench during a game.

This is 100% Cal. Not blaming the team at all.

I’ll say 99% on Cal. I can’t look past Sarr’s rebounding and Boston’s 15% from three no matter how hard I try.

I think that we will win a game again it just may not be this season. FWIW, I *REALLY* liked what I saw on 2-3 possessions yesterday. Looked crisp and maybe we can build on that and put together a strong 4-minute stretch or something over the next 2-3 months. Just show us a glimpse of what this group could be when they are all *SENIORS*

My favorite thing about UK now is arguing with my 13 year old daughter when she talks about how highly rated these recruits are and I’m all like DONT MEAN **** CHILD and now I’m taking a walk around the neighborhood

They now have another box truck pulled over East of Nashville in Wilson Co. allegedly playing same evacuation message. Robots searching vehicle now.

Only in TN can terrorism be so damn redneck.

Nothing better than some gun therapy with friends/family for this team-22/9mm/45.

Took a shot of Titos and imagined my targets were the current state of the basketball team and those damn uniforms.

Never shot better and expecting at least 15 more points the next game.

You're welcome.
