I'm sure our parents' generation thought somewhat similar things about our generation with our gangster rap and grunge rock and whatnot BUT millennials seem uniquely terrible in the history of the world. There is a lot of stuff you hear about them and think that it has to be some crazy story that Ben Shapiro took out of context and blew out of proportion that turns out to be true.

Safe spaces, whatever the hell the trans thing is, claiming everything is racist, etc. I remember watching Jonathan Haidt on Rogan about a year ago. Haidt is so mileqetoast he makes Mitch Barnhart look like Tommy Lee in the late 80s. He's a professor of business and psychology at NYU and has taught for a long time. On Rogan he seemed shellshocked at what he's seeing at NYU and at other elite schools.

Growing up our parents would all just lock us outside with snacks on the weekend. That would be so unheard of now that I'm positive that it would result in a call to social services in a lot of suburban neighborhoods. I'm sure NTI and becoming virtual shut-ins during endless lockdowns aren't going to be helping the next generation, either.

Haidt’s Coddling of the American Mind is a great read

Millennials are certainly the most self hating bunch of them all that’s for sure. I constantly see people I went to school with complaining about how millennials are ruining everything, unaware that they’re prime millennial age.

Or maybe they just realize that they themselves suck.

That market collapse was 12 years ago and the economy bounced back in less than a year. Since then it has been on an unprecedented bull run, never seen before in American history and record unemployment spanning the past two administrations, despite what your preferred news outlet tells you*.

Probably time they found another excuse for still living in their parents basement.

Id say this would be an interesting read:

Devastating loss as a 14 year old to that 84 Hoyas team. 7 point halftime lead and score 11 in the second half.
Kentucky made only 24.5 percent of its shots overall, and incredibly, hit only 3 of 33 attempts in the second half when none of its starters made a field goal.

Here’s my favorite millennial anecdote:
I sit next to a 28 year old with a Masters degree that legitimately threw a trigger warning when my boss posited that Trump would get re-elected. And my boss hates Trump and was lamenting it. It wasn’t like he was sticking it to the guy.

He said, “You’re triggering me. You’re triggering me. For real.” And covered his ears.

I left that job a month later - partially because I was tired of spending so much of my day with those ninnies.

-My Knights at Notre Dame tomorrow so looking forward to that.

-Picked up a Lou FC sweatshirt for my 4th grade nephew. Granted, he's a BIG TIME youth soccer prospect but no interest in UK gear this year. Telling ya, kids aren't that into college athletics anymore like we used to be.

-The Presbyterians next door are having a 10:00 pm candlelight vigil outdoors Christmas Eve. I'm staggering over to that with the lass but will miss mass.

-If we can't have snow I like a cold and sunny Christmas Day.

-Kentucky/Florida season finale and Kentucky/Tennessee at Neyland the sports highlights of 2020.

-I'm not a huge IPA guy but pour it ice cold in a frozen pint glass and I'm typically fine. Will even have more than one if you can believe that.

-Nashville possibly getting an MLB team is kind of interesting. Doesn't strike me as a big baseball town but whatever.

-Spicy mustard just hits different around Christmas time.

The Nashville Thirsty Peddlers.
The Nashville One-in-one-outs.
The Nashville Holler and Swallers.

Plenty of great names to choose from.

-Started Pappyland last night. I could read Wright Thompson wax poetic about Derby every second for the rest of my life.

-Due to a certain writer/netflix star/podcast I've become "interested" in potentially hunting. Haven't been since I was in HS and never really shot anything other than a few squirrels or birds. One rabid fox that was acting crazy on our grandparents farm. Hasn't really been my thing as an adult but might just dip my toe back in at some point.

-G's cousins were supposed to have a sleep over last night but got cancelled. He was crushed, so instead he slept(sleepover) in the trundle and I slept in a tiny twin bed with my feet hanging out the end.

-Secretly being a little devious with my gift wrapping this year. Excessive use of packing tape on random gifts should make for a little extry entertainment Friday.

-The millennial **** is overblow, **** I'm technically one and turn 40 in 5 months. Regardless, I have several young dudes that have no problem busting their ***, and don't blame everyone else for their problems. We're just exposed to more people these days.

-Good for the Bungles, if anyone needs a little false hope to be crushed, it's them.

-Like I said yesterday, Cal has had plenty of knuckleheads his entire career. this isn't something new. He's always been the best in the business at squashing that **** until recently. Losing 100% of your team from last year and having 2 major incidents leads me to believe the problem isn't with the players. Just saying. 3 in 4 years. Smoke -> Fire. IMO, he gets stuck on a method that worked well with one team and tries to ram that **** down subsequent teams throat. Kids are different, teams have to be coached different.

-The Christmas Story is strictly reserved for Christmas Day in our household. Firm rule.

-Plenty of cross state driving so I'll be pretty sober but on Saturday I'm going to push the limit a bit. Rib Roast, bold Red, lots of brown water.

We currently have NOTHING doing on Christmas Day. Ordered a #local dinner to heat up so won’t even be cooking. I’m sure I’ll miss the traditionally stuff but not gonna lie... having these holidays to just sit around and be lazy and fat ain’t terrible.

- Wrapping presents is one menial task I absolutely loathe.

- The Nashville Alex Baldwins. The logo is a silhouette of a man holding up his cell phone taking snap chat videos.

- Millennials deserve all the **** they receive. I have not formed an opinion on Gen Z yet. A lot is riding on BJ Boston’s development so not looking great.

- I am getting hammered on Christmas Friday. Hammered.

It’s going to be the Nashville Stars, which is in honor of Anth’s favorite thing - Negro League baseball. The only problem with that name is that it’s awfully close to the Astros. Perhaps they can go back to the Colt 45’s.

I think MLB should add Charlotte and Nashville. Put them in a division with Atlanta and maybe the Nats and you have a nice little regional slate of teams.

Who was the last legitimate tough guy we've had? Ulis? That was always a Cal staple -- some guy that was just one tough son of a gun.

For instance, Cal screaming at a Louisville player "You're messing with the wrong guy! Eric [Bledsoe] will kick your ***!"

Ulis being 5'6 155 lbs and performing, fighting, defending, and controlling the game the way he did is exactly what makes him tough, Wayne. There's really no argument even out there that he wasn't a tough guy, assuming you're talking about basketball tough.
