Cal quit after '15. He got a little pissed off and gave it one more push in '17. When that didn't work, he was done.
This is not hyperbole. Devin Askew is at best as good as Michael Porter and arguably worse.
This goes way beyond struggling, a loss to Dayton or to an Evansville last year. We are looking at history making bad now. We are headed to a five alarm, Titaniic-type disaster. Gillespie had a couple of bad losses and I always thought Sutton's 13-19 season would be the worst Kentucky team I would ever see take the court but this team is going to surpass all those. I don't see any recovery from this debacle, between a total loss of confidence and/or the hole being so deep from the amount of losses to overcome will be impossible.
It’s a damn shame that Cal is forced to recruit so many one-and-dones. Classic NCAA!
Askew walking away as a coach tried to talk to him going into half. I've seen that happen three or four times with different players this year.
I love the highlight reel of wide open white guys shooting from the perimeter. Remember that time Jimmy Dykes was talking about how to Rick Barnes had to teach that one guy how to stretch.
Apparently Cal has to teach these guys things as simple as "If he's white, make damn sure you crowd him on the perimeter. He's not going to drive past you."

We gave a lifetime contract to a guy who is either too stubborn or just unable to reverse course on the unsustainable model he created for the program. Cal was the perfect hire for us at the time we got him, but I think that time has passed. Hate to say it, but it's true.
How can even the most diehard fan be invested when it's so obvious that these guys want out of Kentucky as soon as possible.
Even when we sucked, we had some dudes who thought they didn’t. That was sort of amusing. Like All NBA Trashton flexing on the gram and shitting himself on the court. Someone like Jarred Vanderbilt who just sat on the bench iced out like he thought he was Kevin Garnett and too valuable to play college ball.
I think every player on this team genuinely knows they suck, and that’s just sad.

we had Mintz pass up 4 open 3s in the flow of offense to swing it around to Boston who won’t pass up anything and has only hit I think 1 elbow jumper.
The wrong people shooting 3s, the wrong people driving to the lane, no one really posting with much of a threat.
And all that could be overcome if we had any clue how to play defense at all. I mean these white boys are getting whatever shots they want, and seemingly only miss out of sympathy.

Draft stock is the only thing dropping for Boston right now. Cal's gonna have to talk some of these losers into the Peace Corps if he wants to come in under the scholarship limit next year.
