Also cool Bam didn't have losers sifting though his garbage for his algebra grades.

This team has so many options I will stay up at night running the 5 through my head and it will help me sleep.

In the words of the immortal Stephen Johnson I love this ****.

Smartfan Player Comps:

-BJ Boston = Michael Jordan

-Terrence Clarke = Lebron James

-Devin Askew = Isaiah Thomas

-Isaiah Jackson = Kevin Garnett

-Olivier Sarr = Tim Duncan

-Davion Mintz = Jason Terry

-Cam Fletcher = Kawhi Leonard

-Dontaie Allen = Steve Novak

General Thoughts:

-Askew was very commanding as a reclass frosh. A little loose with the ball at times, but man he's aggressive. What color is he? B/c he's very quick, some of that is his athleticism but a big part is his mindset and decisiveness...no wasted movements. He's gonna be good.

Mintz is the polar opposite in style, and could see him as the closer. He's calculated and cold. Love that 1-2 PG combo.

-Sarr is kinda background noise amidst all the newcomer hype, but damn what a pickup. His role will increase as it gets serious. Stud. As solid as it gets for a college big.

-Fletcher continues to look the part. He's built like Poythress, and has shot it well each (limited) time we've seen him.

-Jackson -- lol, enjoy your freshman year. Chad mentioned Tyus Thomas, and I see it. Hakim Warrick fits nicely.

-Clarke is filthy, and underrated b/c he isn't a pure shooter. He's a fine shooter, but he's just a baller.

-Ware - just a bowling ball. My Varejao is dead on. He's gonna have some big minutes as a body who can be physical and rebound or take up fouls. WIll be damn good if he sticks around 2-3.

-Boston is sick, no description needed.

-Allen is too good of a quick release sniper to see much action, unfortunately.

,,,summary, this team is FUN. Different kind of attacking mindset than we've seen since '17, and I'm really excited.

I'm a notorious early season skeptic, but it's going to be an Undefeated Season, and we cover every game and win the title.

Sincerely,

BBdK

This team just GOOOOOEES without the prodding, haranguing and screaming from the bench.

Hope the temptation to micromanage does not overcome John like it has in years past and we turn into a grinding mess on offense midway through the season....

...can't see it with the skillset these guys bring to the table but 🤞

Takes:

- Man, that was fun. I missed and needed that. Also, one needs to remember:

1. This team started three weeks later than our other teams.

2. Despite what the dumb F media says, adding Mintz/Sarr actually counts A LOT on the side of experience.

- You just don’t see college teams having two elite lottery-level legit wing talents very often. Name some. Boston and Clarke are STUDS at the most important position in today’s hoops.

- BBdK was all over it with Askew. “Quickness” doesn’t mean **** without decisiveness and confidence (see Terry Wilson: Running QB). Kid has an attacking mentality.

- We may not be girthy but we’re not soft. Boston doesn’t shy away from contact and rebounds versus well. Same with Clarke. I think we’re plenty tough.

- Jackson was a revelation. As Geese said in the first half- he’s definitely not Marcus Lee.

- Fletcher and Toppin are some good clay for Cal and Bruiser.

- I mean, I freaking love Mintz. That guy will hit a big shot for us in March.

- Was impressed with our defensive rotations, attacking style, talent, length and balance.

- Richmond will be interesting. Sounds like Boston and Clarke time to me.

-Dammit, Cal - give Allen some minutes.

- Happy Thanksgiving Eve.

Length & Athleticism >>>>

Having a bruiser or two never hurts, but The Title teams loaded with girth & bulk last decade or so are listed below

.

‘17 UNC would be the only possible exception, but they had a rare Senior PF/C combo.

Lack of a "banger" inside does not concern me at all considering we are drunk with length and athleticism.

Speed >>> Strength
We may take some lumps against a SEC f*ck boi coach who sees the hack and grab as the only path to winning (*ahem* Buzz Williams).

But give me this skill, length, and athleticism in March.

Yeah, it’s the first thing you notice when the score is 2-0...and the fact that we have the same gd ugly uniforms for the 6th straight season.

Other than that, what a fun group to watch! Athletic, interchangeable and the bench was the surprise to me...not a lot of drop off with guys like Fletcher, Ware, etc.

Lots of upside with this group, vaccine hurryup!

Re: that vidya....Other than Clarke and Brooks it appears we have a team full of “White Wayne’s”. Also, Fletcher obviously doesn’t seem to really GAF about things. I like him.

Huge fan of black dudes’ hair styles in the late 80’s, early 90’s, as well as the 2008-2012 range. Was never a fan of cornrows either (sorry Brad C). Definitely not a fan of whatever the hell they call it now. Objectively, I’m not sure how anybody can think what a lot of these dudes are sporting now looks good. I mean ****, Lance Ware looks like Gimel Martinez with a perm.

I don’t like the flopping dreads Boston sports, however when we look like basketball is a sport we have played our whole life then I tend to look right past that type of stuff.

Also, Washington almost got a Wall/Westbrook trade done. I’d love to see Russ/Beal together, shew!

Turkey in the brine, will be up and at it early to smoke.

Bourbon Poker Gambol madness:

I traded a KoK for a PS5, but the guy didn’t want the bottle either, so he posted it for a game. We had 8/9 so I joined as the last guy at $130 a seat.

Skip to the end, me and 1 guy are heads up and I have him by 2K in chips. I raise,he goes all in, I call.

Im sitting on KK, and he has AQ.

Flop comes K-2-10, Boom!

Turn comes A, and I type that is unfortunate ......

River is J, and it takes me a second to see he ends with a straight.

That close to getting my PS5 for the kids Xmas and keeping my damn bottle. The bottle was won in another bet so technically was free, but damn!
