I’m taking the ban on fruit on pizza to the State Supreme Court. My constitutional right to a delicious pizza has been tread on.

Ham, pineapple, mushroom, roasted red pepper. Not my go to order, but definitely a delightful change of pace on occasion.

-Look, deep dish is fine, it's just not really pizza and none of them are on any top 10 lists of pizza. They're a niche sub-category. When I'm in Chicago it's pretty far down the list of things I'm worried about eating.

-You put pineapple on your pizza, it's not fine. That's f*cking gross.

-The bike lanes were out of spite. Not because I think they're a good idea, but you showed me up, so I'm going to cancel them then cite a random article from Oklahoma as justification for my spiteful decision. Much like our Schools in Kentucky right now, lolz oof. Want proof, I don't have it and don't question me again.

-Facebook restaurant groups and pages are just bruuuutal right now. Heartbreaking, tbh. We're not trimming the fat, we're losing all the places with character.

-I know it's funny to knock, but man, I spent so much time at Shenanigan's. First late Feb day when the sun reappears, blow off afternoon classes and post up on the sidewalk drinking beer. First place I used a fake ID. Took shots before graduation with Eddie. Sunday bluegrass nights. Most UK games. Thursday night pregame. Just a great neighborhood bar with a great dude trying to keep it afloat. That's something I don't want us to lose. 😢

-If old Don didn't have money before, he's going to now. 100M deals being discussed for books and TV shows. What a weird time to be alive. Like someone else said, I bet he creates a network. TV Show isn't big enough. I don't think we're going to be lucky enough to have him settle into retired life and fade away. Maybe he can start his own party and pull all the slugs over there with him and I can have a normal conservative party to cheer for again.

-I'm all for moving forward, strategically, but forcing BBall games this week seems like a bad idea. I get why football has urgency. Wait a couple weeks until everything chills out.

-Prep work starts tonight, precooking stuffing and pudding tomorrow. Caint wait to dive into some of this fancy wine we brought back from Napa but haven't been able to drink because sloot is a pirate hooker and got knocked up.

One of the cool organically grown phenomena that has occurred this year has been the emergence of the front porch concert. Locals setting up outside their house and playing music to the enjoyment of their neighbors.

Great news is that this irresponsible super spreading deadly behavior now requires a permit at a cost of at least $100.

Go Team Government!!!

Me and the wife have deep dish once a year. It’s a cold winter weekend day and we feel like being gluttons, we have about two slices each and then it starts to cool a bit and the 8lbs of cheese starts to harden and I stop eating it and throw the rest out. I have it as often as I have lasagna or a pot pie. To call it “the best pizza” is completely f’in ridiculous and you all know it.

Being the optimist that I am, I feel this is the last big wave that’s going to hit. Here in late February we’ll start another one but by then spring will be approaching and the vaccine and therapeutics will be out there and by spring we’ll be back to normal. This upcoming summer will be cathartic for all and a great one.

I mean, while burning a steak seems like a capitol offense, in my dictator state, would be punishable by public shaming. Anth would have to do the walk naked like Cersi, everyone ringing bells and yelling shame!

Deepdish is fine, relax.

Also of the belief that these lockdowns will not be ending December 13 in King Andy’s land.

Dark Winter!

Shenanigans ain’t going anywhere. I don’t discount that they’re struggling, but Eddie probably had a half dozen phone calls from potential buyers within an hour of making that post.

Regardless, I grew up in the shadows of the Kupper’s compound. I’d be willing to bet the family coffers still have some juice if need be.

This latest shutdown is complete ********.
Was texting with the boys about our responsibility to buy the place if it stays closed. Basically a charity purchase.

I'm sure something will survive on that corner, but if Eddie actually has to sell the place, it won't feel the same.

Shenanigan's WAS college to me. I have more memories from there than anywhere else. Would still go almost every year after a basketball game or Alumni Trivia Night. Sick over just the possibility that it might be gone. 😔

No weirder than you and your college buddies suggesting you’ll buy Shenanigans out of some kind of act of charity.

Shenanigans (and Eddie) will be fine. Buy you an Aztec burger and pilsner once this is over.

9:51am eastern time.

By 10, some enterprising Louisville bar owner will claim the throne as the purveyor of the self anointed Coldest Beer In Town.

Sad end to a legacy.

Pizza Randos:

Chicago pizza is delicious once per year or so, I just consider it a special unique treat. Definitely not something I crave. As far as the mainstream popular spots:

-Pequod's is outstanding
-Giordano's is dope
-Lou's is ok
-Gino's East is pure trash

-For you deep dish/Detroit guys, NYC's Emmy Squared opened quietly in Louisville a few months back. More excited to check out their burger. They even have Chopped Cheese o_O

-Tony Impellizzeri's Sicilian is the best deep dish pizza on earth, imo. He's the only person in the kitchen, and if he's not around, it's closed (in New Albany currently,) Tony's is *not* the same as his brother's expanding empire of the same name, btw. Serious drama in that family, but their crumbled Italian Sausage is just unreal.

-I **** on LaRosa's, so it's only fair to admit that Wick's is garbage. That **** is kids pizza.

-Never had much for Boombozz -- it's good, but when I get pizza cravings, which is often, I'm typically wanting classic toppings, and not all the California fancy sauces & gourmet topping combos. That said, I gave their NYC Style a shot the other day...and it's pretty legit.

^ speaking of NYC Style, 'Old School NY' out in the East End is the real deal.

-Wayne - I would make you cry in a pizza off. Better hit up Pizza School, and then get back to me.

Are you drunk? We were joking while talking about old stories. Similar to when we discussed buying the Silverdome in Detroit around here.

I have no idea what he has in the coffers, hopefully a ton, but that has little to do with the place shutting down for something out of their control. Honestly, that's a really ****** up way of seeing this. "Oh, he saved money, he'll be just fine closing his 20 year business down for the Winter and can either sell it or hopefully have enough left to reopen."

There's real possibility it never reopens, or opens as some dumb renamed place with a hipster bartender putting smoke in cocktails. Fairly certain he didn't decide to shut down for the hell of it.

My bad for being a little sentimental. ****, man.
