Honestly, it’s brilliant. If you think you’re gonna get the hammer, take this year off. Who knows if we’re gonna have a tournament or season or anything good in life anymore

So it’s safe to say politicians have been ego maniacs that are power driven, and will stop at nothing to get/keep their power?

Who knew.

Derrick Henry is ridiculous, but that play by AJ Brown to tie the game was grown man ****.

Mississppi Pot Roast for dinner tonight, hell yes!

One and only political post incoming...

Disputed election of 1876

These are not unprecedented times despite what our news media would have you believe

That was purely a deal to end reconstruction in the south by (at the time) extremely conservative and racist southern Democrats. The ramifications of that wouldn’t be reversed until the 1965 civil rights act which was passed by what had become extremely liberal Democrats. I know that because your link sent me down a one hour Wikipedia wormhole and I now know more about US History from 1877 to 1965 then I ever thought I would.

Well you’d also know from your Wikipedia trip that Hayes lost the popular vote in that election by about the same margin as Trump.

My take all along has been that Trump was an over the top dick to the media, so they did everything they could to go after him. Cost him the election.

Likewise, the Dems have gone over the top hard at Trump for four years. The impeachment was a joke as there was no way the Senate was going to remove him. So why would you expect Trump to do the Dems and favors now?

You may say that the GOP should play nice, but what’s the point of that? Making Joe out to be an illegitimate president gets your base fired up. Plus it drives the left crazy (hence my posts on the political thread).

There’s a fascinating game theory element to this that tells me there is no incentive for any of these parties to work together to solve anything. So unless you can get a third party, this is what we’ll have. The problem, is that the GOP platform under Trump is pretty middle of the road, so it’s not like you have far right and far left and an opening in the middle.

You obviously didn’t take Dr. Sumners History class. The old kook showed up the last day of class dressed as Abe Lincoln and recited the Gettysburg Address. I used to see him peddling around campus on his bike, looking like Woody Allen. Always imagined that he was the professor that had students over to his apartment, filled with lava lamps and black light posters, to smoke weed with.

It's time to unify. Yes, I know they've called us(Trump supporters) racists, Nazis, worse than Hitler and everything else under the sun but we must let those feelings go and come together as one country. Biden is the chosen one(he did receive 10 million more votes than Obama) so we all must support him. He has a mandate.

Finally some good news: Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at 6 PM in the Dougan household this year, and wine will be served.

Chalk one up in the POSITIVE bucket for Covid.

First day back in the gym after not-coronavirus and the new mandate to mask up during lifts, and between respiratory congestion and the mask, it did not feel great, gang.

Got to start the weekend with an emergency vet visit. I have pet insurance at a $14 bucks a month because cats aren't usually ultra expensive, which is a relief; but her little asthma attack and kitty covid ran a cool $35 over my $250 deductible. Thanks, kitty. 😑 Oh well. Just happy my animal child will be okay and that she cooperates for her medicines.

Right after that expensive errand, had the funeral for my friend who passed from a heart attack. Props to the funeral home for letting all of us mingle in the parking lot not-even-a-little-bit-social-distanced and then for letting everyone there come into the "25 people only" service. Meant a lot to a lot of people. He was cremated because they were able to donate virtually all his organs other than his heart. His mom is so proud of how many people he was able to save. Sign that line on your driver's license, folks.

I feel dirty saying this, but UC is a fun little football squad. Dumb, too many penalties, but fun.

Most at the Y this morning were adopting the "below the nose" masking. One man who probably hits 3 bills, told the attendant he was not wearing it on the treadmill unless she felt she could move him to give him CPR when he passed out.

Well, he sounds like a turd. Props for getting on the treadmill, but garbage attitude. Not the employee's fault the governor issued new mandates. No one likes masking for workouts but I also want my gym to remain open and I can deal with a couple hours of discomfort to make sure the owners are in good standing with the state.

- Not that we had a chance in the lion's den Saturday but to call a TO only to run a QB draw against that defense in the red zone is complete malpractice.

- In related news, there needs to be a change at the top on that side of the ball. If that alone wasn't a fireable offense, there's plenty of supporting evidence this season to make the change. And lol at those last few sycophant's defending Gran. They're the sports equivalent of the Japanese soldiers who holed up in the jungle refusing to accept the Allied victory.

- One would think with a short 3 day work week that it'd be cruise control until December 1st. One would be wrong. Effing swamped from the moment I logged in this morning through the Macy's Day parade. Makes the day fly by, so there's that I guess.

- Dabbled in Old Fo Birthday Bourbon during the game to dull the senses then tapped into the Old Fo single barrel barrel proof Sunday. Man, Old Fo just has the mojo right now with everything they pump out under that new MD. And while the Birthday is about as perfect a bottle as one can come by, the barrel proof just hit's the complexity notes better. And for about a third of the price.

- Did the traditional Thanksgiving meal with the immediate family Saturday. I've now had my fill of all that food for another year.

- Been to Columbus a half dozen times for work and I get a "big box store" vibe from the city. Everything looks like a page out of Corporate America's playbook. Surely there's some unique spots around the city for cocktails and conversation with the fairer sex? Any pointers from you local Ohioans is appreciated.

Small business owners are struggling enough as it is. Why make it more difficult for them to operate? Follow the rules, or they're going to shut everything down.

Tired of this ****. All of it. Sooner we get through this, the better. And once the world is healthy again, then start making broad changes. But now is not the time. The executive branch isn't going to budge, and the judiciary isn't going to overrule them.

-im usually pro-gran*...but in the 1st quarter the motion/shifting had the defense on its back foot. Once uk stopped doing that they stopped moving the ball**. Don't understand.

*gran designed an offense that worked around a short wr at qb...*on the fly* He knows how to coach offense.

**i assume the head coach thought we were moving the ball too fast/d needed more rest or something.

I frankly don't mind the gym in a mask.

Didn't the announcers say that Bama was going to see what UK was doing for the first 10 minutes and then adjust? Maybe they just adjusted and that was it.

The short north has about 50 local bars lining the streets - that’s your best bet. The Pearl (good oyster bar) has best manhattans in town. The guild house, forno, Del Mar, Martini, black point all have good bars and are walking distance to each other. Pretty much any Cameron Mitchell (local restauranteur) restaurant will do.But I’m not sure what area you’re in - that’s more if you’re downtown.

The mask is noticeable but not a deal breaker if you're doing a HIIT workout, sprints or anything that gets your heart rate over 130 to 160 for an extended period of time...

...so shouldn't be an issue for that fat *** if he's simply walking or schlubs who push weight only.

The most annoying part of masking while lifting is the fabric going into your mouth* on the initial inhale. I kind of appreciate it mostly hiding the stupid faces I make while lifting.

*Don't, doc.

Seconding Short North but there is an abundance of hipsterdom.

The strength of Columbus is the number of young people- certainly not the charm or topography.

I would never want to live there but have had a ton of fun on my visits through the years.

If he’s going to pass out and need CPR for a little cloth over his face, maybe he should start off with a little dieting before hitting the tread mill so hard.

I never said he was going pti ultra. And props to him for being on there and trying. Believe it or not, some people require full oxygen when exercising.
