Just finished packing up my second grader and kindergartner’s backpacks for the last time until sometime in 2021. :( They take it better than me, to be honest. They’re champs.

My second grader had to stay home two weeks earlier this month because his teacher tested positive (outside exposure - she’s all good now). I caught him on a zoom call after his class had ended where it was just him and this chick. She was hulahooping. I was like, wtf are you doing, Charlie? He replied, “Camelia is hoola-hooping for me.” I was just like....well done, son, I guess?

In any event, I was hoping to finish the year strong numbers-wise, but it’s just impossible for me to work at home with the boys. I’m not disciplined enough - and, my profession sucks. Dixie chili takeout for lunch, walk to the park after, then it’s wine/beer time. Plus a Christmas tree will be up soon, and it’s just not possible to work when there’s a tree up. A tree up is just an excuse to get drunk in my book. So in other words, call this one a wash, and survive and advance to a new and better year, hopefully.

Really been cracking up at the Freddie Maggard piece KSR entitled “how Kentucky beats Alabama” that they have pushed to the top several times this week. Yeah right, ********. That’s really swell.

Stay sane, my friends.

Little kids wander. They are too comfy at home to concentrate on school. All my kid does is bring **** out of his room to show n tell.

My other guy, Junior in HS, is on pace for all-state 800medley runner now getting his track season cancelled. He’s in a fog.

These kids all party with one another, yet they can’t be close with any school activity. Stupid.

I am finishing 5 open bottles tomorrow. I’m very task oriented so I hope to not only make shelf space, but moonwalk by Saturday..

My kindergartner has a penchant for flipping the camera around on his iPad and walking around the house while on his Teams call.

Thanks a lot, Father-In-Law who’s ostensibly here to help with NTI but is just chilling on the couch instead during the Teams call. Great work!

Luckily, I’ve taken to putting on a nice button-down and khakis on his “Teams call” days in case another parent on the call is a client. So I’m not sweating it.

My wife has this problem, funny thing is I do not.

It’s like none of you were raised on “do I need to call your dad”.

And while I have spanked my boys, that is not even close to what scares them about me.

Bo Scarborough, OUCH!!!!!

* We play Alabama tomorrow. That's just one big LOL.

* Kyler Murray is awesome, and comparing him to two of the most brooding, sulking, unprofessional, uninspirational, hateable quarterbacks in the last 30+ years is ridiculous.

* Been getting back in the habit of a weekly track workout (10 x 800s, if you're keeping score at home), and the best local spot is in Hollygrove (think Little Wayne). Doubles as the football practice facility for a local high school. Huge speaker blaring explicit rap music. Head coach looks like Rick Ross. Bunch of local homeboys with nothing better to do standing on the sidelines and watching -- perhaps also drinking and gambling as well. F bombs galore. Fights are strongly encouraged during the Oklahoma drill.

Would probably bring up some serious nostalgia for SAE, except there's no white people.

* Just in case he wasn't already the coolest dude on the planet, George Clooney his 14 best buds over for dinner, then promptly gave them each a suitcase of $1 million.

(keeping close with anth, just in case his hvac empire continues to flourish. also gonna start cozying up to bradyjames)

* Have a client who lost his restaurant back in March. Closed up for good. His wife was also laid off as a marketing director for one of the prestigious high end restaurants groups in town. Rather than whine about it, they sold their house, packed up their suitcases, and have been galivanting all over Europe the last 8 months. They pretty much win the pandemic, as far as I'm concerned.

* Currently leading the hiring process for my non profit running group, and have scanned thru scores of resumes. Honestly, the majority of them are 2-3 pages.

I swear to god. Some freaking people.

* After losing his bid for 11th district constable by a 2-to-1 margin, my buddy cashed out his little remaining campaign funds and is hosting a pig roast tomorrow. Probably an illegal use of that money, but it's whatevs. Excited to celebrate meat, and America.

* RIP to the Warrior dynasty. Cot damn, that's been fun as hell to watch the last 10 years. Truly legendary.

Rogan's newest podcast is with Dave Chappelle and Donnell Rawlings. It is over 3 hours so I might just mute the Bama game and listen to the podcast while watching the game.

~Excellent last supper last night at Tony's. Tony joined us for a drink and shared he didn't see this shutdown coming, nor did Doc's buddy down the street. They thought they were going to 25% capacity. Pissed at the dictator is an understatement.

~Full mask requirement while working out now at the gym. That should be fun, especially w/ those that test the waters on even wearing them in.

~Camilo Villegas sighting w/ a first round co-lead...this would be one of the best sports stories of the year were he to win. A few years of struggling on tour, to his daughter's death in July.

~Good friend caught the rona...feels great, lost taste and smell which seems to be popping up. Said his coffee smells like kerosene now and he can barely eat anything. I think I would take the fever and chills over that.

~Stay safe all.

Family member in their 40’s caught it. Felt like they were dying from day 3-12. Lost their smell/taste on Day 3. Had fever/aches for all 12 of those days. Had to go to ER around day 10. Couldn’t sleep more than an hour or two due to the fever/aches. Called me on day 8 or 9 to give me the access code to the house/safe just in case. Prolly terrifying to see your oxygen go down little by little. We are probably 3.5 weeks out now. Still has some brain fog, upset stomach and weakness. The ER doc called their case mild.

So no you wouldn’t take the fevers/chills over feeling great and having a gas smell. Hope you enjoyed your meal though.

Buddy of mine’s Mom’s cousin died from Covid yesterday. She was 62. She caught it, along with 15 other people, attending her dad’s funeral two weeks ago.

Quick hitters:

*Sucks Chase. I've really seen it hit closer to home in this second wave. Still not a fan of the government (and Andy's) response and tone...I think the responsible people who are going to follow "all/most" of the mandates were going to act responsibly anyway and those that aren't, aren't. I know we are dialing back Thanksgiving on both sides of my family.

*Draft: Outside of the UK guys I'm bullish on Cole Anthony and I think Wiseman figures it out. Selling Lamelo, and I don't know what to think about Edwards. Is he Victor Oladipo or Ben McLemore?

*My wife found out that Prime has Hallmark movies....here we go. I'll be in the other room.

*My sports calendar during this whole thing is all screwed up. Normally, I know when UK and WVa play, I'm reading about it for days prior and I've cleared out my weekend schedule. This year, it's like wake up on Saturday and "hmmm, wonder if we have a game today?" Kind of a nice surprise when we do.

*Anyone have an Expedition? I'm eyeing one.

*Matt's love for the caller Will is strange, that kid is a rambling mess of a call.

-Sorry, chase. That's awful.

-Madness tonight and Bama tomorrow and I haven't really thought about it at all.

-Friends packed up their massive state of the art RV and headed out yesterday. 2 kids on NTI, remote workers, headed to Florida with no plans on when they're returning. Gotta admit, a bit jelly. Actually, a lot jelly.

-So bought a chromebook, for a 5 year old, yesterday, 🙄.

-Steelmade griddle arrived 2 days ago, started seasoning. May grab some good breakfast sausage this weekend to really get that sucker going. It's a hefty piece. I love it. What's the preferred high heat oil? Avocado?

-Ruby's takeout tonight, wanted to try last night so the staff got all the funds but just wasn't in the cards.

-Jumped back on twitter yesterday, might not stay long, I was pretty heated the last 48 hours so I'm going to wait, but still up screaming into the digital abyss way too late. Just dumb. Twitter is great for quick news but it also seems much harder to customize to your flavor. My IG has almost no nonsense. All funny ****, friends picks, sports with very little intrusion. Twitter just shoves that **** down your throat.

Look, man. I just want breaking sports news, some cool historical facts, travel pics, etc. Had Frommers and World War 2 fact twitter accounts tweeting about the election yesterday. K. Take a break guys.

-Don't really care what your beliefs are, at this point 9 months in, 1 dude shouldn't exclusively be making the calls.

-Fam joined the local pool club thing. Should be great when it's safe, looking forward to feeling comfortable in a steam room again. Haven't had access to one in a few years.

-BT Barrel pick to wash down an agreeable meal later.

-Long weekend on the couch with my 2 dudes. Then making the best of what life has dealt us next week.

-Congrats to CatholicBack!!

ITS EASY, FOLKS. JUST SELL YOUR HOUSE, DROP EVERYTHING AND GO BUM AROUND THE WESTERN US OR EUROPE FOR MONTHS ON END. WHY MOST PEOPLE DON’T DO THIS IS BEYOND ME.

Easier than you think. Your kids are virtual learning. The real estate market is hot, and houses are selling in days. Your wife is highly qualified in her field. And most importantly, lower level banking management jobs are always easy to come by. You could pick up right where you left off with ease.

Go for it, brah.

🤣 Rich, go for it man. Uproot your family of 4. Quit your job that requires you in the office and your very smart wife should become a traveling doctor. Pretty simple really. Life on the road as a vagrant family should be pretty easy. Your parents can catch you on zoom.

******* you're dense.

If you actually bothered to read my post, the family I was speaking of.....

- he = lost his restaurant of 20+ years when it was forced to close
- she = lost her lucrative job with a large restaurant group that still has yet to reopen 8 months later

So yeah, they were kind of in a unique position.

- Seriously, F off, PTI.

- Let’s just get through the next few months. Sweet Jesus.

- Yeah congratulations @catholic_back . That’s awesome. Beautiful gal, too.

- Loved seeing Richie taking his little girl to the UK game last week. Looking forward to doing the same with mine someday. If she’s like mama, she’ll make 5 trips to the concession stand, be mesmerized by the Dance Team and ready to leave by halftime.

- Friday 5:

In Your Eyes- The Weeknd
August- Taylor Swift
Goodnight Elisabeth- Counting Crows
In Your Atmosphere- John Mayer
When the Stars Go Blue- Ryan Adams

Well, there are numerous cases w/ fever/chills that last a few days as w/ a very mild case of the flu. Your example is a tad more severe than "mild".

And yes, the meal was excellent.

- The kids are not virtually learning. They’re still in person because their preschool falls under “childcare”. Thank goodness.

-My wife is starting to build equity in the practice that employs her so she can become a fully vested partner and if she got up and left right now with everything going on to be some dipshit vagabond that would be beyond stupid.

- We would have to find a new school for the kids and a new nanny for the afternoons. Not ideal during a pandemic.

- I’m not in management. I’m not some hotshot exec but I have a solid gig as a commercial lender with a book of business and stock options that make sticking with this position attractive to me for the long haul.

- I love ya and miss hanging out with ya but with all due respect go touch yourself.

Dude. Did you even read my post, or just immediately starting bitching and complaining?

It's two people who lost a two decade old business, and whose careers are essentially illegal in today's COVID-fueled world. They are in an incredibly unique position, and although extremely unfortunate to have their income completely demolished, they have made the best of a terrible situation by traveling the world and having their time of their lives. Their plan is to have as much fun as they can and then eventually move back when, I guess, having a restaurant with customers isn't like against the law or whatever.

Quit taking yourself so gd seriously.
