Can't believe they are not going to re-open the Brent Spence Bridge until Christmas. If I was a struggling business or restaurant in Greater Cincinnati I would think I was cursed. People are not going to sit in a mess of traffic to cross the bridge to shop or dine out. Effectively cuts the market for businesses in half.
Maybe, Andy will ban travel to Cincinnati forever. One can dream.
Not exactly a bold take but Wright Thompson is the best sportswriter of his generation. Read a book with a collection of his articles last year- was terrific- his Pappy book is already great a chapter in.
Thompson is the kind of sportswriter who elevates his “trivial” subject- sports, bourbon, whatever. Most sportswriters try to put down what they write about and the people who care about these “trivial” things to elevate themselves.

You do not have "one side" refusing to acknowledge there's a health crisis. What you have from this side are those who don't want their lives to be sacrificed at the hands of politicians who don't have a clue what they are doing. They do accept the health risks, and use common sense....and at the same time know that it is equally important to be able to provide for your family....financially, socially, spiritually, and psychologically. Lockdowns are proven not to put a dent in this mess; cause an equal amount of harm as the virus, yet you continue to have liberal dolts use draconian and communistic measure to control their sheep.
And if you had been paying attention the last few months, you would know that there are plenty of patriots fighting to keep things as normal as possible. However, overcoming the likes of Cuomo, Lightfoot, Whitmer, Andy, and other liberal "leaders" has proven to be quite a chore due to the fact that their servants dare not question the almighty. They would rather see their family in the soup line.
Pay attention if you are able and you will see who the culprits are.

He's really good. Mitch Albom, Wright Thompson, Chuck Culpepper, (and even the good Dr. Hunter S. Thompson when he was still with us; check out "Hey Rube" sometime) all are able to transcend the sports they cover and give you a totally different view from most of us ink-stained wretches.

- Time for the annual "Mute Woj until the draft is over" ceremony. Love the guy's scoops, but he makes for some pretty anticlimactic draft watching.
- At least tonight's draft should be the last time we have to lay eyes on LaVar Ball.
- I'd add Wetzel to that sportswriter mix, too. Really enjoy his stuff. I used to feel that way about Doyel. And I have really enjoyed Jeff Passan's MLB columns this season, especially his work during the World Series.
- Screw it, we're doing Thanksgiving. There will only be six of us, the kids aren't even in school this week or next, and we've been extra careful. This time next year, there's a good chance my mom isn't living at home anymore. We'll keep our distance by eating at least 10 feet away from them and do everything OUT OF AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION.
- I've never understood "second cousins", "third cousins", etc., and I'm 46 years old so I don't want to waste time trying to figure it all out now.

I'd do audiobooks if I didn't already have such a hard time paying attention to podcasts. Constantly having to go back 15-30 seconds when I get distracted.
-first father/daughter tennis lesson last night...good stuff. Shes just getting started, and i need a refresher on "form"...as relying on guile/athleticism(as I have been since i started back up) isn't ideal for a man of my age*.
-we chatted about "heavy" stuff on the way home from the club. Nice bonding time.
-SIL having a go to pieces about the uptick in cases means we are looking at just our 4 for t-giving. We had already cut it to "my 4" +mil+sil and spouse...as my family is much larger/traveled/"exposed". Some people exist to be governed, whatevs.

Great for driving or when you’re doing something else. But I would like it if you could do a mix. Like you can listen to the audiobook while you are driving, but when you get home you can automatically switch to the digital version to read and it automatically opens to the page the audiobook stopped.
Wetzel’s the best pure sports columnist going. He’ll give you a well thought out, straight up no ******** take, and whether you agree or not, it’s tough to cast it aside. He doesn’t ever seem to have an agenda.
Thompson’s different, though- he makes it a sports story an artform- a throwback to the Bill Nacks.

Anyone remember that old TV show "The Sportswriters" from the 80's/90's? It aired on Sundays and featured cranky old sportswriters (based in Chicago, I think), sitting around a poker table in a dark room smoking cigars and talking about the week in sports. Loved that show. Think it aired on WGN.
If they tried to do that show now, it would be Dan Wolken, Kyle Tucker, Nicole Auerbach and Pete Thamel sitting 12 feet apart, each with a charcuterie board in their lap.

My 72 year old Dad tested positive yesterday. As a ***** F****t liberal I had been on him as recently as last Thursday to quit being so nonchalant and to stay home while the numbers were up. Oh well. We'll see, I guess.
