-Mazzoni’s is the the epitome of special. They created the rolled oyster, an iconic local tradition totally unique to Louisville. C’mon. After the Hot Brown, that’s probably next imo.

You're dead on, of course. I guess I meant more in comparison with all the nouveau Louisville restaurants that have taken over since the turn of the century. Don't get me wrong, Louisville has a great food scene.

But Mazzoni's took me back to the Louisville I grew up in. When the Belknap building still stood and you still saw Ann Gotlib billboards around town. I get the same feeling when I go to a place like Iroquois Pizza. It's the Louisville of yester year.

So you're spot on. It is special.

Not great.

"Manny Caulk" is up there with "Chance Poore" and "Dick Cheeks" for all-time worst names. Even if your middle name is "Hugh-Dickindeanus", you gotta roll with that.

Is this Austin Powers?

This is a super athletic basketball team, I hope we get to see them play.

Deer gun season opens tomorrow. Looking forward to some time in the woods.

Sam's club is garbage.

Tough day for bbn yesterday, even John Short's dog died.

Ate a burrito bowl last night, 2nd night in a row. I'm a fan of leftovers for dinner.

Best think to ever come out of Ohio is 75 South, and it is closed for at least a month. Sucks for the FIFOs, should improve traffic for the rest of us.

The run on ammo this year is crazy. You cant find anything in stores, thank goodness I have enough stocked up to get through hunting season.

There is a prominent member of the NKY business/civic community named Dick Spoor. Always thought that was an all-timer.

He’s a great guy, too.

- Happy weekend, kids. What a beautiful autumn day.

- Started off this morning as I do every morning by listening to some Sturgill and feeding my girl. I tell ya- the first two months suck but now she’s starting to smile and recognize and trust us. It’s a pretty cool feeling.

- I believe I’ve asked this before but what are some good home security systems? We have Blink cameras now but I’d like something a little more.

- I, for one, do find the irony in Mother Nature blessing us with one of the best weather years in ages during a pandemic, and it ain't funny. Well played, Nature.

- Could "Life is a Highway" be the most played out song ever? I remember when the song originally came out in 1992, I believe. Then Rascal Flats remade it. Then the movie Cars. And now I think local radio stations are required to play it at least once a week by the FCC. That sucker has had a long life.

- Everyone still indulging on Halloween candy? Me too (or neither - just depends).

- Being in South Central, I get the lovely opportunity to hear Nashville sports talk radio. Yesterday morning, Wesley Woodyard was on breaking down the impending Colts-Titans matchup. That dude has tons of charisma. Great personality. And he signed off ripping the co-host of the show because he played at UT. Basically told him that UK has taken UT's place in the East and that he will always be a Wildcat for life and Go Big Blue.

- Need to buy some athletic shoes. First time I've bought a pair of "tennis shoes" (why do we still call them that, or do we?) with my own money in probably 6 years. I usually get a new pair every couple of years from my AD or supplier, but these are unprecedented times . . .

- Gonna smoke a chuck roast this weekend. I've heard good things. Getting a little flavor back in the smoker in time for the Holidays.

- Is the Masters on? @TCPUKChamps

Remember the "Shame on you Martha Lane" sign at the 22nd street exit?

Not sure why I remember that one, but I do.

Also remember her showing up in a limo to see the computer lab at Roosevelt Perry. It was the 1st of its kind.

I'm a big fan for this because it is much easier than brisket. I advise to get it to 160, wrap then get to 205. Let rest and then pull/shred like pork.

Gave up 104.5 and made the switch to 104.7 when driving. 25 years of Nashville sports talk was my limit I suppose. Like listening to Straight Outta Vegas during the afternoon commute.

Speaking of which, I'm not sure anyone's voice is more mismatched with their face than RJ Bell. Went to follow him on Twitter with Spicoli in mind and turns out he looks more like relaxed day trader.

For those of you like me that are completely disengaged from the universe because of Covid b.s. Here's a link to the pro day

This weather is perfect for sanity's sake in the midst of the 2020 buzzkill. Been grilling out and hanging with the neighbors more than ever. Gonna make some fish tacos going this weekend. One of my go-to orders when I spot it on the menu -- unless it's that "turd of the sea" AKA Tilapia. What's the best fish for tacos, in your opinion? I go with Halibut.

Can we pin a thread to the top where that Turnip dude can talk to himself instead of bogging the board down with his nonsense?

Purple Heart is the best houseplant. Requires minimal care and is just really cool to look at.

I just discovered my local Harbor Freight and can't believe my wallet has avoided this place for so long. Is it cheap junk? Probably, but I love gadgets. Just got a magnetic paper towel holder for the grill. Place is pretty much Brookstone and Skymall's underachieving, macho little brother.

Damn pretzel, hope you squat this rona down too.

Alice In Chains is awesome, terrible take Anth.
Prob my third favorite unplugged album, behind Nirvana and Clapton.

I’m sure he’s heard AIC. Rooster, Man in the Box, Would all got a lot of play back in the day.

Rough week for UK. Grew up with Schlarman’s wife all through grade school. Know her family well, absolutely heartbreaking.

Liked what I saw last night, hope we get to see them play.

Off next week, what to do, what to do...
