Kingsley's ground beef is pretty fantastic, and I used to go there much more frequently when I lived nearby. Solid steaks. Fresh Market now for all of that tho.

Speaking of, I had Queen of Sheba the other night. Shew. Worship. That Taylorsville Road stretch is damn solid: Le Relais, Oishi, Queen of Sheba, Morris Deli, Kingsley's.

For fans of Nathan For You and/or Joe Pera Talks With You, I recommend How To with John Wilson.

I was pumped when our house came with a pretty nice pool table. Just over a year in, and we've played maybe a total of 2 hours. Now the wife is wanting to sell it to make room for a drum kit. I am into this.

My grandfather had a tradition of boiling a country ham every Christmas. Dad has recently brought this tradition back to life, and randomly did one this week as well. Can't stop eating it. Stuff just falls apart. Perfect for biscuits, hash, and grabbing a bite every time you walk through the kitchen.

Had a solid, 2-day hangover after Halloween. Generous neighbor was pouring em heavy. Elmer T Lee, Blanton's, and Stagg Jr. Haven't thought for one second about bourbon since. Should be back on that train soon though.

Haven't thought for one second about football since the same day. Guess I'll watch Saturday.

Burgers on the menu tonight. Trying to mimic Laha's.

New York strips from Fresh Market. Reverse sear with butter on cast iron griddle over the gas grill, 2 glasses of red vino... Profit.

About as good of a night’s sleep that I’ve had in years. Total comatose which I needed since the Lil Lassies have no respect whatsoever for their parents’ sleep.

That's ridiculous. Last time I was in there the bar was falling off, all patrons were smoking, and one chick was paying for drinks with lottery tickets. Buddy Murph's dad was a bar tender there back in college. We used to visit pretty often. Saw the sun come up from that deck one Derby morning.

Costco for steaks man. USDA Prime in every cut...including the GOAT cut & elusive Spinalis (rib cap) very often.

-Mazzoni’s is the the epitome of special. They created the rolled oyster, an iconic local tradition totally unique to Louisville. C’mon. After the Hot Brown, that’s probably next imo.

Still remember my grandparents taking me there when I was like 8 years old.

Great call. Forgot I got an invitation to join their very exclusive club during 'rona. Still haven't been in person.

But for real steak dad I'm swinging by Wilson's this week to grab a couple hoss daddys. That place may be what I do in retirement. Little neighborhood grocery store with a dry age walk in and huge cuts. May just take over that wodie butcher shop on IOP.

Costco is the **** man. Richie touched on it, but I’ve yet to have a “Kirkland” product that wasn’t elite.

Their food, meat/seafood and other random offerings takes them over the top from similar clubs.

It’s a dangerous place for us normal folk with budgets, but hard to fathom you aren’t a regular.

TurboK buys the full prime cuts for a few hundo, and then slices and vacuum seals himself in his desired size. That’s the way to go for a weekly steak eater like yourself or boat.

Wilson's grocery isn't the same since it was bought and remodeled. New shop has its perks, but the selection is limited. I didn't think they still aged beef either?

Costco is if fact the shiz for steaks. They always have prime beef in multiple cuts and subprimals available.

Right. You have an unlimited budget Toby.

For common folk, , buying a FULL USDA Prime ribeye or whatever slab ($50-$60 in a restaurant portion) and cutting them yourself and sealing brings the price per steak down to a sirloin special at Outback.

Anyone else watch Pro Day and think to yourself if these 2 options of the “playcall” are stopped we become stagnant?

Which we do, and yet it seems obvious as to why.

I do like the look of this group, a lot!

Some quick-hitter Pro Day thoughts so far...

* Good heaves, Isaiah Jackson is long
* Keion Brooks is a lot stronger than he was last year
* This team has a bunch of pogo sticks
* Ware reminds me a bit of Joakim Noah
* Boston swagger is as-advertised
