Loved watching Darrin "School Boy" Van Horn. I thought he was going to be big time. Then Iran Barkley took his soul.

Arturo Gatti vs Mickey Ward trilogy where three of the greatest fights I have ever witnessed, along with Alexis Arguello and Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor (From Cincy). Pryor before the beginning of the 14th round drank an illegal substance loaded with drugs. the HBO mics caught his trainer saying "give me the bottle, the one I mixed." it gave Pryor a ton of energy (maybe Adderall LOL)

This round was amazing, the whole fight was. They where good friends and would hug at the end of rounds as respect for one another. Boxing at it's greatest.

I think I was 17 in Freedom Hall for the Tyson Danny Williams fight ready to be a witness to Tyson mauling a human. I left drunk and severely disappointment that day. A good primer for the next 15 years of UK football fandom.

Firecrackercat and I got pirate drunk for that sucker. Woke up fully clothed on the back deck. I don't think we made it to 10p, tbh.

I was at two of the all time Rupp turds. My first game was the Penn State Crispin brothers debacle. 🤮 The other was the 2005 Kansas game. Got ERupption zone tix at the lottery and was stoked. Got in line at like 5 am so I could freeze my *** off to get a front row view of that snoozefest. Just a boring, boring game (that we lost).

He was a helluva nice guy, but the no D took a major toll on him. He was punch drunk and could barely form a sentence after he quit. If ever there was a candidate for Pti's CTE, then it is him.

Tayshaun’s 5th 3 was the loudest I’ve heard Rupp in person. Thought the old gal was gonna loose her roof. Was also at the LSU game in Pitino’s first year, that was fun too. Been to many special games at Rupp but those are two of my favorites.

That other one vs. LSU is the loudest I've experienced from opening tip to final horn. I've been to just about all of them since 1990, and that will be hard to top. It was insane.

Older fans/media say UK-LSU 1981 was the high mark. I've got that one on DVD. It's pretty nuts.

When Stevie got loose Commonwealth shook. I’ll go to my grave believing it.

I'd say that one is up there. Unfortunately, I left the field and went upstairs to start working early on that game. I didn't get to fully experience the crowd eruption from the press box. It *looked* crazy, though.

The worst game I've been to at Rupp was my freshman year (98-99) and we lost to Tenn 48-46 or some **** like that. I was shitface drunk and actually punched the floor as the final seconds ticked off. It was awful basketball.

I was at both of those games, and I will add Gardner Webb to the list too.

During the last year before probation, LSU came into Rupp and beat the hell out of them. Something like 35 points. It was awful.

Was at the 81 LSU game. That game and the the 83 UofL game were insane. Rupp was 90% full before the 83 UofL game. First regular season game between the two in decades. Was the Bowie and Turpin final four year.

This is in the conversation for best highlight Kentucky tape of all time. Always gets the juices flowing. Rupp gets **** on all the time, but BIG GAME RUPP, when things are just ROLLING...shewwww...nothing compares.

*Memorable for a different reason for me, as that day was my first date with my now wife. We went to Atlanta for the UA/UF SECCG , and I spent the first two hours of a tailgate staring at a TV and holding the remote so nobody could change it. Made a great first impression with her friends. I remember texting with W&W during that one and how nervy it got at the end.

*Took my mom all of a few days to recover from covid, but her husband (70 yrs old) is a month in and still have respiratory issues. Pretty standard it seems. I was and am still pretty concerned about it coming back on her or something.

*My dad came down over the weekend to play golf and hang out a bit. He's up to (down to?) losing almost 75 pounds just by doing Keto. Under 200 pounds for the first time since before I was born. He always brings down a 6'er of Ale 8 for me and gets super excited about giving it to me. I enjoy it- but not *that* much. Would crush him if he ever found out the truth.

*Returning to the classroom in the spring, tweed jackets and all. Will be teaching a History course on the evolution of Higher Education. Trying to see if i can squeeze in a lecture titled "Should You Just be a Welder Instead?"

*Updated to a mesh-wifi system last month and the difference is night and day. Best money i've spent on electronics since the Sega Genesis.

*Snagged a Weller 12 down here this week but the pick of the day may have been the Rare Breed BP Rye... I put a good dent in that on the first night.

*Mock the Snarky Bitches all you want, but its easily the best group of dudes on the internet.

Was in the stands to see us lose consecutive years to Western in football. Good for the state, irreparable damage for me.

Agreed and OTOH, I've never thought for a second EKU would move an inch closer in threat-level in either sport. Hell, I'd be more concerned Davenport could pull off a magic trick on the hardwood than the Colonels.

WKU is a wolf in sheep's clothing. I strongly advise against pulling for them in anything. Warms my heart to see them get smacked around tbh.

Their fan base(yes, there are Hilltoppers First fans out there; they exist) loves to rib UK for not scheduling them in anything now. They are like a goofy kid in public trying do something weird because they want attention and think they’re funny. It’s almost kinda cute the first time you see it. Then you quickly realize this weird face and silly dance they’re doing is only to get Mommy’s attention but she’s got her face in her phone and a mouthful of Cinnabon and couldn’t care less. Before you know it, they have now zeroed in on you as their target audience because you glanced in their direction.

Now they’re putting on their vaudeville act for you and, even though you know it’s not their fault, you can’t help but become increasingly annoyed with them to the point of irritability. You’re better than this, but still, you kinda want to spray water on the kid to get them to shut up while you walk away undetected. You don’t want to hurt them. You just want to them to stop. I’ve seen it a hundred times.
