Not sure why the video quality gets worse on this one with each passing year...but this is the GOAT. No question.

100%. My favorite UK team of all time and that clip is crack. It has everything. Cluff and Gurrl. Bogans going HAM. Estill being awesome but possibly having dementia. HayesandDaniels. Tubby at Peak Tubby. Even Barbour got it going.

The works.

This is in the conversation for best highlight Kentucky tape of all time. Always gets the juices flowing. Rupp gets **** on all the time, but BIG GAME RUPP, when things are just ROLLING...shewwww...nothing compares.

We had a great crew at PTI’s that day. I remember calling Chad that morning on his way down nervous as a tick. The ultimate UK is back moment.

My senior year at UK, 3 years of utter basketball misery before that. That game set the stage for the cal era

This remains the single-loudest burst of noise I’ve ever heard at Rupp (when the 5th trey dropped). The hair was standing on my arms and neck. Pure electricity. Only one other time I felt it to that extent was when UK blocked the FG and ran it back for a TD vs Bama in 1997.

Going back to the new court logo I think someone on Twitter correctly pointed out that the new logo looks the way it does because it’s covering the old logo.

So in the middle of a quarter billion dollar renovation, in a time where NBA teams have multiple alternate courts that they switch in and out, they couldn’t spring for a new court and just slapped a sticker over it.

It’s outrageous.

The first ever Gameday game isn't top 10 or 20 by any means, but that game against Mississippi State was fun simply because it was the first time the Rupp Crowd had extra hours of drinking at the Hyatt before tipoff. Noticeable increase in atmosphere.

Rambo II on Paramount now.

My dad took me to the theater to see this extremely violent R-rated movie at aged 7.
Same. And then it was a trip to the Army surplus store for a "survival knife" afterwards (complete with matches and wire saw). Never knew when "Charlie" was gonna show up in Pike County.

My dad didn't give a tenth of a ****. Granted, we aren't close at all, but I'm not sure over-parenting is the answer, either.

My survival knife wasn't deemed sharp enough as purchased, so we promptly went to the garage to give it some real cutting power. And the cheap matches were replaced with good ones that could actually start fires, which I did.

I watched Venom with my 4-year old son. There's a scene in there Venom bites off a dude's head and comments "fuel for the tank" when questioned why he did it. My son's eyes lit up and he started half-laughing, half-cheering. And then he looked at me and could see I was beaming with pride. Truly a moment for us.

Ninja stars were the true sign of 80s parental neglect, imo. My parents sold our house and we had to wait a month before we moved to the new house so we lived in a dive apartment complex that someone in my family had an ownership interest in or something.

There was a walking trail behind the apartment and one day when I was hanging out on the balcony with my little bro, some local tough kids started harassing us. We called them buttheads or whatever you did and it ended up with one of the little pricks landing a well thrown ninja star in the wood deck about a foot from my brother. A fairly impressive throw and an absolute dickhead move.

I hope his dad got really drunk and kicked the holy hell out of him that night.

That led to me taking tae kwan do, which would have been useless but the original Karate Kid was big back then.

Someone finally uploaded this gem on Youtube. This was the best college basketball game I had ever watched in my life at the time. Then Duke-UK happened 2 weeks later.

But this game. Day, Mayberry, and the Big O vs Sprewell, Hollywood Robinson, and Robert Horry. Bama had nothing left the next day and got blown out by Kentucky in the finals.

* How exactly do you pronounce "cabal," anyways? Chief?

Really only seen it used in one specific context.

* New book alert:

Pappyland (by Wright Thompson)

Dalko (by Bill Demski)

* How about WORST Kentucky games you've attended?

* CBS Sports has an article up today about the most overrated and underrated teams in the top 25. 😂

Been a pretty good schedule so far, so I look forward to reading their analysis of the season.

* So, Kate Mara is in a Hulu show where she's a teacher sleeping with her 17 year-old student. We gonna let this happen without commenting in GYERO?

Love her.

* I could do this:

* Stock market on fleek.

* Puppies to tommyg. #maskup

* Was at a brewery in Charlotte on Sunday enjoying some outdoor day beers. There were a couple of seriously wasted dudes at the group of adirondack chairs next to us. One of them proceeds to nonchalantly start vomiting to the side, which went unnoticed since they were seated by themselves. Then they brilliantly decide to attempt to run out without paying their tab. Except one guy stumbles out while bumping into several things and drawing all kinds of attention. The other (pukey) attempts to hop a short fence, but slips and nearly impales himself, gets his shirt hung up, then falls to the ground. With all the grace of a drunken bull in a china shop, their plot was easily foiled. Made for some great comedy.

* Sunday --> The Crown, season 4. Eek.

* Gotta love playing in the SEC. We get Vandy at home to presumably get an easy W and get out season back on track, then follow that up with roadies at Alabama and Florida. FML.

It just means more!

When Stevie got loose Commonwealth shook. I’ll go to my grave believing it.

- Big-time fights on HBO in the 80's/90's were the best. Barry Tompkins, Larry Merchant, and Sugar Ray. So many good fighters back then, too. Absolutely loved Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Michael Carbajal, etc. It was in my rotation almost as much as football and baseball during those days. Also remember being excited about UK's own Darrin "Schoolboy" Van Horn.

Tennis was up there, too. Boris Becker FTW.

- Happy Veterans Day to Doc and others. Thank you.

- Thad Matta set to take over at Wichita State? Would seem like a perfect fit for both parties. Instant credibility and Matta knows what's he's doing, obviously.

- Worst UK basketball game I ever attended was when top-ranked Rex & Co. lost to Auburn on a last-second shot by John Caylor at Rupp. Place was a morgue.

James Scott, fighting out of Rahway State Prison, was a good watch. Yes, he could only fight opponents who would come to the prison.

I saw Mark Breeland as an up-and-comer at the Golden Gloves.

I tell you... watching a fight live is a totally different experience. **** is brutal and the people are animals, cheering the destruction of a human being.

kinda like a strip club, tbh.

I've been to a few clunkers at Rupp, but this has been too somber a week for remembering that. Best time of my entire life was my 2L year in the 4th row watching Anthony Davis block UNC into the stands for the win. I was in the middle of finals and lost my voice for three days. That block of finals was my worst academic performance of my entire life, but...worth it.

People at my undergrad made fun of me a little for picking a law school based on basketball first, scholarship second, but I have no regrets about being at UK from 2010 to 2013. Life is too short not to have a little fun.

Doc and our other GYERO vets: thinking of you and I am thankful today, especially.

Sounds strange but I'm thankful there will be a memorial and visitation for my friend. With a red county we weren't sure it would be in the cards yet. The ME found so much scar tissue on his heart he likely had more than one heart attack prior to Saturday. Take care of your tickers, guys.
