Election day is done, time for the real **** show to start.

Stayed up past my bedtime last night.

Went to take a drink of coffee, thought the cup was almost empty. Poured hot coffee down my chin. meh

The forecast is perfect for the next few days.

Knocking out some yard work and a couple of landscaping project this week. It's no Schem Mahal, but I'm happy with it.

Trump is a turd, but there is a lot of truth to the accusations of leftward slants in the media and pollsters. Thought it was obvious after 2016, should've blatantly obvious now.

DC trying to legalize magic mushrooms. Congress could use a good shroom party.

I really don't care who the president is. Just glad the houses are divided. Hopefully someone worth more than a runny fart gets a nomination in 24.

Kentucky going to publicly shame the governor when legislative session begins. I can't wait!

God Bless America:

I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some, uh, people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future. For our children.

I'll echo the sentiment. Republicans hold the Senate and Biden winning the Presidency is pretty ideal going forward. Let's see if Joe is really the cross aisle politician he claims to be. I'm no fan of any party getting the trifecta.

Imagine seeing a tweet about how liberals look down on and think they're smarter than rural America and deciding to tweet this at the guy who wrote a book about how terrible Mitch is for Kentucky.

-watched nary a bit of election coverage. Very predictable scenario/played out as expected. Taxes will go up/we'll get back under chinas thumb...and my day to day life won't change much. America will survive.

-headed to the clerks office to transfer old truck today. That should be a blast.

-tendonitis sucks. Old.

-thinking Arkansas in January to shoot ducks/specks. Haven't been in a few.

-planning a dove field at the bourbon county farm for next year. Never cultivated my own. Huber/80 et al...pointers appreciated.

-football cats need this off week. Hope springs eternal. Im a glutton for punishment.

- After watching the KET election returns last night, wife flipped it to HGTV for a few. New episode of "House Hunters", and the couple was from...Cincinnati. She wanted something cheaper and closer to her parents, he wanted more land and the chance to make upgrades. You can guess who won. (Ir)regardless, it was an eerie coincidence after yesterday's GYERO discussion.

- Is there a single soup that's good if it's been cooking less than an hour? Soup should be reserved for weekends or weekdays working from home, where it can sit a while. Can't rush a good one.

- It cannot be overstated how good "Mandalorian" is just as pure TV, even aside from "Star Wars" geekdom. The story, the action, the music, the cinematography. All of it. Brilliance.

- Mower decides to retire right before the final mow(and mulching of leaves) of the season. So now I get to hire the neighbor kid to do it, AND I get to buy a new mower in a few months. Win/win, really.

- Non-lottery guys I really like....Stix Smith from Maryland, Isaiah Stewart from UW, and as a deep sleeper, Paul Reed from DePaul. Also think that despite his game being virtually the opposite of the way NBA bigs are used these days, Vernon Carey has a good chance to stick.

Plenty of room for guys like Carey, but they just have to accept what their role is in the modern NBA. Tough pill for a lot of those dudes.

A random nice little change from yesterday was the new Mississippi Flag, which looks dope.

Oregon also legalized shrooms. I’d hate to have drive in that state with all of the meth’ed out shroom heads zooming around on their skateboards.

Chemically, yes, but for an ADHD brain there's a pretty stark difference in effect. (When I was first diagnosed I learned there is actually prescription meth, "Desoxyn." What up, Mr. White.) I'm way out of my depth in the sciences, but neurochemistry is fascinating to me. ADHD is (as far as we're sure about anything in the brain) the brain's inability to properly regulate norepinephrine and dopamine, similar to how depression is the brain's inability to regulate serotonin. It's also a spectrum disorder like autism, so there are huge differences in symptom severity, etc. So, for a normal brain, the stimulant is going to pack a helluva punch because there aren't any deficits in the ability to regulate those neurochemicals. If you genuinely have ADHD, you probably have "paradoxical" stimulant effects--caffeine makes you sleepy, etc.

So @CastleRubric, I tried the non-stimulant option first (Strattera) and got nothing but nasty side effects from it. I was hoping to not have to deal with being on a prescription controlled substance because it's a pain in the butt, but I just felt generally terrible on Strattera. So doc switched me to Vyvanse. It's in the same family as Concerta, but it's an extended release and it's metabolized as it's digested in the gut, so it has lower abuse potential. Unlike Adderall, you can't crack open the capsule/crush a tablet and snort it. I've been self-medicating with ridiculous quantities of caffeine for years, so I've done well with tolerating the stimulant. Other than some dry mouth the first couple weeks, the only side effect I have is feeling like a functional adult with a much "quieter" brain. As an unexpected bonus, I've been able to reduce my SSRI dosage (that I've been on for years). Blood pressure is a side effect to watch for most people but I've been okay thus far.

tl;dr if you actually have ADHD, prescription stimulants are pretty amazing

@Wayne, get out of here with the Kentucky flag hate. WTF

- Gridlock please.

- Those late night live betting swings were wild! Lost my *** on Hilary four years ago, not touching a political bet again. Learned my lesson.

- Trump about to go all crazy uncle on us. Get your popcorn out.

- Living in Boston in 2016 and seeing the aftermath and now in Nashville seeing this go down...same damn ****! People losing their minds. You would have literally thought the world was ending in 2016. Girls in the hallway at the hospital crying, people applying for Canadian residency, etc.

- This damn thing gonna end up 271-269. Wild.

Trump is a buffoon, but I'm truly mystified at how many people are just ATE UP about him. The emotional flailing over elections is...weird. I recall some of this with Obama, but man, Orange Man just took a lot of people over the edge. The world doesn't stop spinning on its axis because of one election in one country. One electoral spot also doesn't change the entire rule of law and government instantly. LAWD, people. Biden or Trump, America will endure, and my personal obligations to treat others with respect don't go anywhere. And with apologies to NW50 no one needs an emotional support Canadian.

(Braces for "of course you can say that, you privileged *******")

No ****, Canada would be WAY down the list. In fact anywhere north of here would be down the list. Would require ridiculous amounts of money to move somewhere colder and darker than current lattitude. Carribean, when I move over Kamala in 4 years.
