I, too, miss when college basketball was a good, fun sport where the quality of play was low key as good (or better) than the NBA.

-Same experience as SAE. Didn't get to Rupp very often. We'd catch the annual game at FH, IU games, and some of the UL games. Loved that place. Don't like the move for BU though.

-Congrats wcc, once you get a little sleep the rest is gravy.

-Started The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz. Enjoy Larson so high hopes.

-Ye deserves a couple % for Dropout, Late Registration, and Graduation. Owned the aughts.

-Beef and Broccoli last night. Added some shitake mushrooms and shirataki noodles. Easy peasy.

-I don't know where all this nonmasks stuff comes from. Any store or restaurant I've been to has been 99% compliance with masks since summer.

-Confidence in Gran is high. Dude is well thought of across the country and what he did last season was remarkable. Hoping 3 weeks is what the doctor ordered leading into the hard stretch.

-Dads, if we get G a Switch is it basically required for me to get one as well?

The Queen's Gambit is about as entertaining as a show about chess can be. Bonus points for the Henry Clay and New Circle Road references and heavy drug/alcohol use of the protagonist.

I couldn't get into Rupp or Freedom Hall as a kid but those practices before the annual Freedom Hall game were a joy for this young Cat fan. Freedom Hall would be packed.

I always thought it was cool when they'd take one of the Blue/White games on the road. They played one in Cynthiana in the mid-80's, obviously to honor native son Joe B. But I think they used to take them to other gyms, too.

Wish they'd do something like that again. Play it once somewhere around the state (maybe the hometown of whatever KY kid is on the roster), then the other one at Rupp/Memorial.

The switch is awesome and I highly recommend for any dads out there. And 63% of moms.

Kinda crazy and it will never be acknowledged but there’s a strong argument that lil’ ol’ Kentucky of all places may have nailed this whole “voting process” thing.

Blue Chips was on last night in full HD, stopped what I was doing and enjoyed. What is about 80/90 movies that just mix the best sound with the best visuals. Feel like its a lost art, but maybe just my own nostalgia.

Switch is $300-400 and hooks up to the TV. Switch Lite is a single player handheld for $200.

-in general freedom hall is a better place to watch a game than is rupp.

-the "electricity" at rupp is incredible...but if i dont have *great* seats I'm watching from the couch.

-finishing the basement thoughts: my lead electrician is young and Mexican. My plumbers are young and Ukrainian. My hvac guy(sorry anth it was moving 1 supply and cutting a 4x10 in an existing return...<$200, so i didnt bother you with it) is Ukrainian. Framers/drywall guys are native...weird but they are my guys so whatevs.

^in short, get it together young Americans. Stop throwing money away on useless degrees and go to work.*

*also, get off my lawn.

With the shortage of trades people in this country, there is no excuse for not "making it" right now. Provided you're able bodied and not a complete moron.

I drove by the Tates Creek library on the way in to work and there were hundreds of people waiting outside in line to vote. It looked like a multiple hour wait.

Thats the spot where we placed our ballots ....

That’s ALSO the spot where Brandi almost kicked my honkey *** for the m-understood move of writing her name in for district judge -

I just lee reflecting on the RICH experience of that moment ....

Sometimes a man sees his communication with a woman going ONE way .....

but somewhere between the message and the interpretation — the ladies in our lives end up with a whole different interpretation

which is almost ALWAYS WRONG of course .....bless her heart

The irony and beauty of America is that in 50 years that Ukrainian is going to be complaining about his lazy American grandson.

God I hope this election and vote counting ends in a reasonable amount of time. Almost to the finish line.

PS you weirdos ....

I had started a post around 3am to co were with the military related statements above - it’s just an interesting topic for me ___

it wound up being a freaking 8-paragraph reply that contained into that was WAWAY too specific* - would have violated more than just GYERO code

.*...such as specification comparisons between our Minuteman Iii ICBMs and Russia’s Topol-M Mobile ICBMs ...(ours is faster and more accurate- theirs has a hell of a bigger blast yield
)
So ....I didn’t post it - I tend to ramble like a drunken duck on his honeymoon sometimes

BUT - otherwise...:cool topic - wish we we’re having a drink somewhere!

Nice -

that Indiana series was absolutely second to none when I was a kid though- loved it / always got nervous for it

U.K. basketball was one of the few times I’d hear my fairly reserved dad YELL / holler / growl and stomp - sheer joy coming from him as Mel Turpin would make you face guard his nuts ....

**** like that is like gold in your pocket man
