Ugly wins are wins and whatnot.

Defense got a few gifts but thats a good showing against an offense that had been able to move the ball.

Terry looked meh AF, so did the o-line and the receivers and AJ rose though... I dont know if Gatewood is the answer but he will probably get more reps.

Wilson's decision making is just head scratching... And he is sailing the ball all over the place. But man our receivers dont help him out at all... and the next block one of them makes on a screen will be the first all year.

Figure it out.

Unless MSU is the worst team in the SEC by a long shot, that was an amazing display of defense last night. And of course Terry Wilson is maddening, but that's exactly how Kentucky's offense has played for 5 years under Mark Stoops. Like it or not, that was basically the perfect football game by his standards. Big win.

And we may need to purge some malcontents around here.

Morning after thoughts:

* We dominated MSU defensively, took an Ole Miss team that held its own against Bama to OT, and looked like we belonged on the field against Auburn. With a few different breaks, we are 3-0. If we didn't get 6 TOs last night, we could also be 0-3.

Welcome to life where every game is in the SEC, I guess. The conference looks like Bama and Georgia, 11 pretty good teams, and Vandy. I think everyone's record is going to be close to .500 and the final record for the swath of the SEC will be decided more by injuries than how good the team actually is.

* I have no idea if this team is good or bad.

* Nice to see Gran realize that we do, in fact, have tight ends last night.

* Wilson is frustrating as hell but our receivers are possibly the worst in the SEC. They do absolutely nothing out there. Without Smoke, we don't have any big play threats at all. (I'm not going to count the two or three times a year where the seas part and AJ Rose runs straight ahead for 30 yards or whatever.)

I don't think it matters whether we stick with Wilson or go with Gatewood. We need a QB who can run to manufacture any yards at all.

* Good to see us get a pass rush last night. If we can do that consistently, we can be a stifling defense.

* The Clown was over the top last night with negativity but he's an OG. Wish he'd post more when he isn't redass during a game.

Mike Leach isn’t going to change who he is or what he does. He’s not going to start running Kylin Hill 25 times a game. He’s going to install his identity and his culture. His Washington State teams the first couple of years looked like dogshit too at times. It’ll payoff in the end but you’ll get games like you got last night.

That being said KJ Costello is f’n terrible. And Terry Wilson wasn’t that far behind last night. The difference being our coaches are risk averse and are not going to put Wilson in the same position that Leach puts his QB’s in.

Just remembered I've got the day off tomorrow for Columbus. This Sunday just got a lot better. Haven't had this feeling since the random snow day back in those K-12 days.

Smoked Turkey was fantastic. Making Hot Browns with the leftovers today.

-Terry was fine, and you have to know if Terry doesn’t turn it over the coaches are going to be content within their gameplan. It’s that simple.

Ive thought in all 3 games that Bowden would have possibly become a 1st round pick in this weak draft had he stayed and crushed it at WR. There is nothing in this draft for playmakers.

- 2 very bad drops, one by 86(again, and again with that guy) and the TE over the middle for about a 25 yd gain. Other than that I remember the roll out where Terry threw 4yds in front of a crossing receiver that had big play written all over it.

- You guys can think what you want, but there is no reason to be scared of UT next week. This defense is coming around, and they will be the best unit on the field next week.

- NFL Sunday and I like about 8 betting lines. :flush:

Ole Miss defense is terrible. I mean historically bad. They lack talent, discipline and struggle with even the fundamentals. If you’re using that game as some barometer of future success.....

No, Terry was *not* fine.

GTFOH with that. He has to play better, especially when the other team decides to rush more than 4. He panics in the pocket and simply refuses to keep his eyes downfield. His read option choices leave a ton to be desired too.

There is no rhythm to our offense whatsoever and there is plenty of blame to go around. The play calls are strange, there is very little speed or dynamic playmaking on the perimeter and we don't seem interested in featuring Rodriguez despite his crazy good YPC numbers.

But no, our QB1 was not fine last night.

I was wrong: we'll win three.

re: play calling... when we line up quads to one side of the ball I just close my broken eyes and squeeze out a tear or two. Gran is really REALLY weird.

CATS though

Our D played well, but this play stood out to me when it happened in real time (and I seldom focus on O-Line play). This is the worst pass blocking I have ever seen on a single play by the center and right side of the line. It's like they all just said F it.
