Props to Kooky. Ky inspectors requesting a stamped drawing, ok bud. How about this........unstamped drawing...........yes that works thank you, permit approved.
Christ... to do business without rules, Codes, cares. In NYC, there are ‘expediters’ that navigate the onerous AHJ/approvals processes. not so much in Mt Washington I reckon.

When you need a real distillery, I’ll accommodate the design with a large glass dormer/spire/beacon to contain the enormous height for the column still, Malting floor for your rye, visitors center, gift shop, public toilets and Kook’s Tasting Room...

Glad To help and that it worked out for you.

on to the MIL suite

As much as I despise the necktat, got to give the guy his due. He has been one hell of a baseball player for a long *** time.

Hope everyone comes out of this mess healthy and safe, but the SCOTUS pick getting the President killed by Covid would be 2020 calling checkmate.

The President will be fine. He has access to the top doctors and scientists in the entire country.

I'm referring specifically to the My Pillow guy - he's on speed dial.

RIP Bob Gibson.

A hero of young Cardinal fans in the 60s.

Great times, when World Series games were still played during the day in the middle of the week, and the teacher would roll in the TV and we watched every game.

  • College football... imagine the buzz and excitement if Kates won last week. After Auburn, the entire fanbase is meh. if we get one win, it better be against UT.

  • Bardstown Bourbon Co. Discovery Series #2 arrived in mail today... look forward to that. Stuff is oily and layered.

  • POTUS in for a rough couple nights at least. When the Chinaflu fever spikes, it’s not a pleasant ride. I was ok, then it grabbed me by the nuts and was a shaking mess for about 5-6 straight hours. Prayers up.

  • This morning: Baking my traditional apple pie and Pioneer Woman’s salted caramel crumb version. She’s on lithium, no? Smiling like a nut job but nice balloons.

  • Apple Pie... that’s the list. That and Strawberry Balsamic Pie.

  • Charleston Booked. Meeting the Distillery Owners of HighWire at their tasting room, Staying at Vendue, rezzy at Husk, FIG, and 167 Raw. Rodney Scott/Berthas Soul Food on the radar. Crabbing with Tia, weather permitting.

Got a really long and heartfelt text message from my dad last night (which is a rarity for him) when the news that Gibson had passed away broke.

My grandad would take my dad on a road trip every Summer to St. Louis, just the two of them, to watch those 60’s Cards team play. Dad did the same for us growing up. It’s hard I think when you’re aging and you see your childhood hero’s start to pass away. Doesn’t help probably that Gibson was just a few years younger than Grandad who isn’t in the best of health these days. RIP to a legend.

Baseball would be more fun to watch if black people started playing again.
Been on a deep dive into the Negro Leagues this year and it's been pretty awesome. Highly recommend. So conflicting that most of the history is word of mouth legend and lore because on one hand their stats are nonexistent, on the other the stories are legendary.

Bob Gibson was mean mouthf*cker.

Brisket now almost 12 hours in.

Word of advice, never trim a whole brisket when you have a full on buzz. This thing looked like ****. More meat hanging than casting couches.

I remember thinking, "F-it, good enough" before throwing it on the smoker.

That said, got out early, trimmed some meat, now looking like a decent shaped piece of meat. Great bark. About 2 hours from wrapping in butcher paper and getting that puppy to 205.

As always, if you are in the area, swing by for the game. I know one lurker planning to come over.

I know in LA they have programs where cops are involved in inner city baseball promotion. It's a great way for police to get to know their community and vice versa. In urban areas, many people are inherently distrustful of people they deem to be outside educated professionals, whether they be police, teachers, etc. But once that trust is earned, those same people become your most fiercely loyal citizens. I'm a firm believer that if citizens knew their police officers then they would trust them more and feel more comfortable coming to them with information. Thus lessening the turmoil we face currently.

I agree.

A lot to be said about returning some foot patrols where cops get to know people in the community.

Married life is great I’m sure but there’s something to be said for seeing someone that just gets the f out in the morning. No chit chat over coffee, no “so what are your plans today”. She just gives my **** a squeeze, gets dressed and says “text you later”

Despite being from a whole other damn *** country she’s already learned and accepted that Saturday’s in the Fall belong to me.
