Best method I've found for Brussels Sprouts is akin to a reverse sear. Halved, face down in an oiled, cold, covered pan. Turn the burner on medium heat. Check them every few minutes. Once they've noticeably changed color to a bright green, they're steamed through. Remove the lid and crank up the heat to cook out moisture and sear the flat side. Then add whatever you like (seasoning, bacon, parmesan, vinaigrette, dijon, etc.). Simple way to avoid the earthy bitterness from overcooking that gave them a bad rap for so long. Via Splendid Table.

My recipe for Brussels:

Cut them in half long ways
drizzle with evoo
liberal with the garlic salt
fresh cracked tellicherry pepper
sprinkle on some brown sugar
preheat over to 400 convection bake
place on a wire rack over a baking dish
dump those disgusting motherf*ckers in the trash because they taste like sour feet.

Blue jacket, red jacket, who gives a ****.

New GYERO - Several car seat purchases, strollers, kid clothes. "Why We Do This."

Back in my day (hate that saying also) never had a car seat or remember riding in a stroller. If we could walk, we strolled our *** right along side our parents.

Not sure how smoking chops and burgers is going to learn you anything. Maybe drop $12 on a Boston Butt and start there. I do agree, i would not cut my teeth on trying a brisket or anything expensive.

Twitter is in deed terrible. Surprised, but not really about the **** Tyler Herro caught just for simply answering a question about Paul Pierce saying he has not earned a nick name, but mostly for saying he remembers everyone drafted before him. OK, I get that one, only 12 or 13 names and he was not going ahead of Ja or Zion no matter what.

Lakers in 6. just rep the Big Blue Tyler and Bam. Bron, AD, and Rondo (experience and playoff Rondo and TKOT) just have too much to over come. IF they get anything out of Danny Green, maybe in 4 or 5. Heat gonna have to use IGGY and Kendrick Nunn, have to expand that bench a little, especially matchup issues that come up.

Love MY Cats, but KSR saying UK SHOULD win by DD's against Ole Miss is just un-educated about the game of football and team match ups v/s strengths and weaknesses. Ole Miss WILL score, and if UK does not match it, they could lose by DD's, so no they should not win by DD's, they could, but could also lose by that. Now, I am not surprised by their lack of knowledge, kind of expected it. Too much homer-ism when trying to dissect games.

Is it a big ol slope, or some cute lil mini slope?

Neighbor down the street has a maybe 8' wide by 100' long slope on the side of his yard that's completely filled in with juniper. Looks pretty dang cool, imo. The juniper is probably 2ft tall and really makes a statement, and defines his yard well.

I have no idea how long it takes juniper to completely fill in. You can just plant more junipers to help fill it in. Pine needles will work on a slope, and look good. If the area ain't big, you could just plain ol pine needle it, and it wouldn't look bad. Some junipers with pine needles would look dope till it eventually filled in.

Liriope could work on a slope, and look pretty cool.

Also, I don't know the best way to water a slope. I would think you would need some slow drip hoses to prevent runoff? That'd be key to help getting everything established. Don't think you have to worry much about juniper after that.

Super excited for the football cats on Saturday. I just want our boys to have some fun and hopefully win a game. 😀

My first cook on the Traeger was a brisket, but whatevs. Testicular fortitude.

You can cook burgers on it, but that’s not where it’s at. Low and slow, long cooks are what that thing was made for. Throw a pork butt or some ribs on there this weekend.

I love brussel sprouts, even just steamed with some salt. Had some oven roasted with balsamic reduction for my birthday dinner the other day.

That debate was awful. I mean watching happen was sort of funny, but realizing one if those two asses is carrying our country the next 4 years is depressing.

Cleared a couple of acres of woodland from invasive honeysuckle out at the farm. Tough work, but can't beat the location. Away from everyone, creek rolling through, 200 year old stone fences, springs bubbling up, wildlife all around. Heaven.

Lake with my dad and my son tomorrow. Been looking forward to this, my boys first trip, staying at the same place I used to with my dad and grandad.

Fleet Foxes are cool, but I just cant make myself love them. Stapleton dropped a new song from his upcoming album too. Should be a good fall and winter for music, hopefully everyone was writing good stuff during the lockdown.

Apple spice > pumpkin spice
I'm pumped for some fresh apple cider. Need a trip to the orchard soon.

Ran a across a nice red fox on the trail last week. He was within 10-15', really handsome fella. I've seen a ton of weird wild life on that sucker. Fox, turkeys basically every time, deer, snakes, coyote, groundhogs, weasel, skunk, geese, swans, snapping turtle, lot of really large hawks(which are always my favorite). No bears yet but probably only a matter of time.
