Chili and Cincinnati Chili are two different meals. Dixie Chili > Skyline, also.

Slow cooker chili with lean beef + banana peppers + kidney beans + a smidgen of brown sugar + two jalapenos + diced tomatoes. Add a dollop of sour cream, cheddar or pepper jack shredded cheese and oyster crackers. tbh chili is an excuse for me to eat half a package of oyster crackers with every helping of chili.

For real if you order a bowl of Skyline, Dixie, whatever you shouldn’t be allowed to vote or own weapons.

In the NFL, a game where the entire intention is to put as little space as humanly possible between you and your opponent, and players routinely sweat and spit and snot all over each other, masks aren't required on the field. However, in a fit of showmanship, the coaches standing on the sidelines ARE required to #maskup, and have now been fined > $1 million for non compliance.

Trust me. This all makes perfect sense.

Good Morning:

:: The Saints over thought themselves on offense last night. TY Montgomery never ever ever needs to be on the field when you have Alvin Kamara on your roster. They've been trying too hard to be nifty ever since they drafted Taysom Hill.

:: Hard to watch every time the sun goes down on an all time QB. Brees looked BAD. Granted, his "WR 1" last night was about as washed as him. However, his misses to Jared Cook were awful.

:: I like Darren Waller...a lot...but he's not the All World Beast New Orleans made him out to be last night. It only took them four quarters to figure out that he needs to be bracketed. The fear of speed is dangerous. The Saints' DC scared of being burned by Ruggs blinded him to the fact that the Raiders would have to rely on two rookie WR's and Derek Carr beating them deep.

:: I don't want to hear it about the late DPI Ruggs drew. That was garbage and you all know it.

:: One truth about the NFL has undoubtedly held during the pandemic. Crusade officiating. One thing gets noticed, "holding was called only an X number of times last week," and then all of a sudden laundry is on the field nearly every other play the next week.

:: I won't be packing my knives and going home for last nights dinner. I definitely feel like I'm getting my kitchen chops back in shape.

:: Pro tip...when you need to make a roux toast the flour in a 425 degree oven. I lay out about a cup or so on a parchment lined sheet tray. Give it a stir after the first 20 minutes then put it back in and let the flour get to your desired color. The whole process should take about 30-45min depending on how dark you want your roux. Toast a little extra. It will keep for a bit and you can skip this step next time.

:: Gumbo Season >>> Chili Season

:: Cincinnati Style Chili...all food turns to **** eventually. Some dishes are closer to the ultimate end result than others.

:: I got my chili recipe down last year. Instapot Oxtail. Braised Pork Shoulder and Chuck Roast. Pureeing dried chilis in the Oxtail Braising liquid is the kicker.

:: Fritos Scoops and Sour Cream

Fining for mask noncompliance in the NFL is dumber than hell, but even dumber is that those funds are going right back in Roger Goodell's basement. I mean, pretend to be #woke and donate to a vaccine trial or some nonsense. IT TAKES ALL OF US

Can only imagine running up to a fall tailgate with an ice cold domesto in my hand and the intoxicating aroma of Chicken Tikka Massala in the air. What a treat.

Here's my annual post on Cincinnati Chili------->it's complete dogshit. And thank God for that, because if it was good, I'd have gained 30 more pounds than I did during law school.

I've never wanted to like a certain food more than I want to like Cincinnati Chili. It looks like fantastic comfort food, and I'm a sucker for the 8 pounds of cheese they put on top of it. But the product itself is just bad. Really bad. It's not even chili, to be honest.

And LaRosa's sucks *** too while I'm at it.

Some Louisville folks on the Main Board are saying they are hearing there will be indictments so that some facts come out at trial that could help quell riots(assuming found innocent). That seems like a reach but it is easy to get an indictment so........

- Lack of tailgating is really going to put a damper on my following of high school football this year. Sucks because I was really looking forward to watching Colin, Jackson and Brayden their senior year.

- Love the long play on Anth’s TDF joke. Good stuff buddy. Like an amateur basketball player on Instagram, you’re really putting in the work.

- Approximately 6 years ago, I gave Anth hell about $100 Lululemon sweatpants. Today, I stand here a damn hypocrite.

- Not sure who I have more pics with all-time - my wife, BBdK or Wodie Sloot.

- The princess had her baby photo shoot this morning and she crushed it like vintage Christy Turlington. It’s doubtful she’ll have the height to walk the runway but she certainly has shown early prowess to become an elite Instagram model.

- Early dadlife stuff I’m enjoying:

* late nights to myself
* ignoring open container laws on neighborhood walks
* easy listening music such as Phil Collins
* claiming how “advanced” my girl is for basic achievements including bowel movements
* any stroll involving the bjorn
* earnestly discussing where she got various physical features, “Yep, she’s got Aunt Agnes’s wrists- no doubt about it.”

- If we get any kind of offense, we pull the upset Saturday.

Placed a modest $25 on the Cats +7 on Bovada. Buddy of mine said he'd take the opposite bet for $250. I mean, I like our chances, but when push came to shove I wasn't willing to go that far. Still, I like my team.

Noodles in chili is for simpletons from Cincinnati.

Chicken tikka masala is legit, B$ has gotten it down pretty good too.

I feel very confident we stomp a mud hole in the tigers. Terry might be shaking off rust, but AU is breaking in a new OC and on limited timing with a lot of covid cases holding their guys out of practice.

It really doesnt get much better than this weather... stupid shutdowns notwithstanding.

The Redlegs are on fire coming down the stretch. Got our rotation lined up, hopefully we can make all those weirdos in Minneskonsin cry.

Lunch with the better half today while granny watches the baby. Gonna have a barley pop with my sandwich.

Louisville gonna burn tonight?

Alright pickem is live!

CBS sports page wouldn't let me pick SEC only as they pick their "top 15 games" each week so I chose all SEC and then best match ups for our area.

One more plug. Get picks in before kickoff Saturday. Once we have set number of people in I'll send out payouts.

So in this pick'em league we're all picking the same 10 games, CB? That kinda eliminates the handicapping portion of it, imo

No way to set it up where you pick/search for your own 5,10,etc lines to bet amongst all the available games?

Also, I assume these lines are "locked" for Contest purposes once you publish?

-cincy style coneys are great. Couldnt do the chili on its own.

-larosas is only acceptable in two situations: reds game and kings island. Its really not good.

-ground beef and stew meat in my chili. Mushrooms. Onion. Bay leaf. Yellow beer. Black *and* kidney beans(**** texas...im from Kentucky). Various and sundry spices..whatever peppers i have on hand. Magnificent.

-white chili is not chili. It is spicy chicken and bean soup.

-re: soup...split pea(or lentil) w/chorizo is simple and hard to beat.

Put $ at +8 and the money line. Also threw some token futures on winning the East and the SEC.

For all you diy landscape balls (non Anth), anyone use Bermuda? Just planted annual ryegrass over the weekend just to get some grass. Debating between Bermuda and zoysia for the spring seeding. Then overseed with rye every fall to keep green

-Cincy **** sauce is only decent when on a coney and absolutely covered with cheese. In no way is it a chili. Very compareable to everything else, except Graeters, from that hell hole.

-I've shied away from noodles but I'm not mad if they're served on the side. Ritz and shredded cheese for dad.

-Masala sounds dope, post those recipes. Maybe a Sunday dinner.

Is putting noodles in the mix throughout the cooking process with meat and beans etc. considered cincy style as well? Or is a meat sauce and noodles cooked separate then pouring the meat sauce over the noodles considered cincy style? I want to know what us noodle guys are being labeled here.

Putting lots cinnamon in it and making it taste like sh** is what makes it Cincinnati style.

Lines are locked.

CBS site sucks, honestly. If there’s a way for me to pick all 15 games then you pick your 10, I will.

It seems like there would be everyone tied up together with only 10 games/week, but folks will really start to separate themselves a few weeks in.

-Happy for the Reds. I might have been a year early to their hype train, but it’s damn good feeling I get seeing them click.

-In the same aspect, I’m happy for Jon Gruden and the Raiders. He was basically all but laughed out of a job for giving up on super talented players that weren’t committed to him.

They aren’t the best, but they are far from the laughing stock the talking heads promised they’d be.

- Lumber is a f’ing joke. I’m not exaggerating when I tell you I have builders ordering it to job sites without foundations in just to stop the price increase.

Naturally, futures are down which mean shortly after the election it will come back to earth.

- Filed for guardianship on my mother, which got the reaction I expected, she NEVER wants to talk to me again. But I can’t let this charade continue.

Going to be some dark days ahead for me:flush:

- UK football. I know we are all in the same boat, but my whole life will change for the better if we came out and smacked Awwwburn in the mouth this weekend.

- Great Wolf lodge booked for fall break.

Kids man, they got it good!

My appointment time with UK was ystdy. I was able to get tickets to all 5 home games in my same section and a Green Lot parking pass for each game. Thinking about selling my green lot passes for some games so I can actually tailgate somewhere even though it’s more dangerous to tailgate outside than be in an inside establishment.

What’s ANDY going to do if you’re tailgating on private property?

* Rivercity Catholics grew up on noodles in chili, was the only way I figured the concoction was served. Not much of a fan anymore outside of the rare nostalgia play. Give me a thick Texas chili now. And Kingsley's has a prepped pork, sausage and chuck combo that is tailor made for that style. Highly recommend.

* All this talk of the Redlegs run is cute when compared to the outhouse-to-penthouse script flipping the Nationals pulled off last year. Win the whole damn thing, then it'll be impressive. Right now it's a nice streak.

* Been going into work twice a week since early June but the office just told everyone to pack your ish and go home until whatever fallout from the verdict plays out 😣

* Go ahead and queue up wcc's Nirvana Unplugged obligatory post this time of year.

* 27 - 23 fighting piglets. And a shame we won't be able to victoriously sing 'My Old Kentucky Home' in person again.

Government officials mandating that their local law enforcement have dedicated personnel to solely enforce tailgating guidelines is going to be a nice side story of gamedays. Especially when the same thing going on at State Street is happening at a house on Montclair.

Surely the kernel will have some authorities of their own ON IT as they drive around the city videoing anyone that is seemingly having a good day.
