Cha makes really small rolls is my only beef with Tomo. His noodles are heavenly though, so I give him a pass.

Also, cha is a friend...rather give her the money.

I'm so glad that place is still in business. I used to grab dinner at Tomos atleast once a week back in the day. Cha, and even Tomo when they were married would always come out and chat with us and make you feel like royalty or when she was drunk like a piece of meat.😂 Since moving out out of town, I haven't even thought about Tomos in years, but I'm going to make a point to go visit sometime soon. Thanks for the reminder Rudd. Cha is good people.

Yeah, buddy. First time trying the warm broth.
If you're using broth check the salt level. The cheap stuff is basically colored salt water. Since you're reducing water out and developing starches cheap broth can create a salt lick if you're not careful.

If I have to go store bought, the stock or "bone broth" (Jesus, don't get me started on THAT garbage) from Pacific is pretty solid. Also the Kroger brand organic stocks are pretty low in salt as well.

That's why I didn't add salt until after reducing and adding a boat load of parm.

Good Afternoon:

:: Finished up Project CrabWeed in the back yard on Saturday. The final tally was a half dozen wheelbarrow loads. The hurt all day Sunday was a good hurt. After what I went through with my leg it felt great getting dirty and working hard outside for a few hours. It also made the pool feel GRRRRRRRRREEAAAT on Sunday.

:: The steaming hot shower after a hard day's work is pretty tough to top in my world. Get the water cranked as hot as you can stand it; sit on the shower stool for awhile and let the steam work its magic.

:: RE: Burgers; after several quarantine prep sessions and spring/summer grill outs I find that 3/1 patties are the perfect size. Especially if you're freezing the patties or grilling them outside. At that size you can cook the burgers from frozen over a low flame. They hold their shape well enough to fit most store bought 4" buns. Also the perfect size for a good 'ol slice of American.

:: Cupheads for the Nintendo Switch. I'm pretty sure Satan himself was the chief developer. Avoid it at all costs.

:: Last night was the first time I got to sit down and really enjoy a little bubble basketball. Man, that was great. I'm digging all the offense. I heard Raja Bell say that guys are shooting better because they can ball in a gym without all the distractions of an opposing crowd. I agree with him. Kind of a grass roots back to where it all began vibe. It's wonderful.

Been playing "Ghost of Tsushima," which loves to send mixed messages about what makes an "honorable" samurai. Apparently shooting at hornets' nests from a distance with a bow and arrow to get the hornets to attack Mongols is OK, but jumping off a roof and stabbing one in the head is cowardly? Not sure I agree, but I'll defer to any 13th Century Japan experts on here.

FFS take it elsewhere

UCL, if you're not an honorable samurai, do you have to commit seppuku? or does the game just tell you you have brought shame on your ancestors?

Weekend randoms

*Went to Farmer and Frenchman in Henderson on Friday night. Ordered the 14 ounce Wagyu strip, and it was unreal. $46, probably would've been $200 at most other places. Several beers, several Moscow Mules, started and finished my rap career in the van ride home. 20 inch blades, on the Yamaha-ah. Really could've used BBdK's guidance, but I did what I could.

*Played in the Gold Rush tournament at Windridge CC Saturday and Sunday. Played pretty well Saturday and shot 73. Perfect cut put me and four others leading the first flight instead of 8 strokes back in the Championship flight.

*Sunday morning we found out that my step-son's Dad tested positive for Covid. He has a serious heart issue, so he was tested by his cardiologist out of an abundance of caution when he went for an appointment last week. He's lethargic and feels stopped up, but no fever, loss of taste or smell, or any of the other stuff. My wife and step-son got tested Sunday morning after they found out. The Covid line, and the nurse at the facility, didn't think it was necessary that me or my daughter get tested.

*After I found out, I texted a buddy at Windridge and told them I was going to WD out of an abundance of caution. I wasn't around my step-son's Dad, and I was only around my step-son for a short bit as he had been with his Dad most of last week. I got a call back from the tournament director insisting I play, that I could distance, use my own cart, not touch the stick, that it was a secondary contact, etc... So, I played. However, I wore a mask and stayed away from everyone right up until about 10 minutes before my tee time. I spoke to my playing partners, explained the situation, and told them if they were uncomfortable in any way I'd WD, head home, and never hold it against them. Both were fine with me playing, so I played. Told them the next time we played I'd pick up all 18 flagsticks. Stayed socially distanced, wasn't really an issue.

*We get to number 4, about 140 yards up the hill. Hit a little 9 that never left the flag and flew in the cup for my first hole in one. Just an incredible feeling, and tbh, I never thought I'd get one after playing 30+ years without one. A buddy of mine was in the group in front of us, and their tee box is about 10 yards from the green, so they all saw it go in. I could hear it land in the cup, and never saw a bounce, so I thought it may have gone in, but didn't know if it stayed. But their instant "OH ****" reaction let me know immediately it was in. It tore a chunk of the hole out as it went in, and the cup had to be replaced for the last 3 groups of the day.

*Shot 76 yesterday and finished 2nd in my flight. There was no closest to the pin or any hole-in-one giveaways yesterday, but they decided to give me free entry into next year's tournament as a prize. An exceptionally cool gesture, and exactly how you should run tournaments. Great group of people out there.

*Found out today that my step-son tested positive for Covid, and my wife tested negative. He is completely asymptomatic, but my daughter and I went ahead and got tested this morning even though my wife had already tested negative. Hoping both my step-son and his Dad continue being asymptomatic. It could be a blessing in disguise if they have it now and are asymptomatic so they can have some immunities if this gets worse in the fall. Especially his Dad, given his heart condition.

An eventful weekend, for sure.

Big Norton Commons contingent who believe this stuff. If people out here believe this I can’t imagine what folks in places like Eastern KY think.

I think the “both sides” thing comes into play when your side likens the a Trump administration roll Nazi Germany. That’s equally as stupid.

<----- is not part of that contingency.

I didn’t think it could get worse than Hillary vs Trump. Yet here we are with Trump vs Biden. It says all you need to know about our country when these are the best candidates we can come up with for a leader. It’s a complete joke. And I’m a Republican, so save the D rage comments. All politicians are garbage and crooks. You’re delusional if you disagree.
