The strokes were there but it was a real shock to my knees.

Thats what she said

These NBA playoffs every night are dope, eff off Chad

My base liquor isn’t even bourbon!! Johnnie Walker Black or Green for this Scotch hound. Always on the rocks

Man these nights have been perfect weather - not much better than getting the kiddos to bed and enjoying a beverage while star gazing.

Speyside is a good mix of smooth and smoke.

Glenfarclas
Cragganmore
Balvenie
Glenfiddich

Smoke -> lagavulin
Smooth-> Macallan

Remember when you were a kid and without fail you’d have that one weirdo on your baseball team each year that would miss bases whenever he got a hit? Well, that’s my daughter. Best hitter on her 8-year old team, slugged a triple tonight, and she missed first AND second. Moreover, I’m the first base coach, and she does this all the time.

Worst part, when I went to talk to her about it she acted like I was putting her out. For Christ’s sake, how hard is it to step on the bag?

Just another excuse for this...

Not really related, but I played softball at that age and even though I could generally make contact and nobody really knew what the eff to do, I always stopped at first because my dad was there and I’d rather hang out with him anyway.

I coached our Med school softball Intramural team to back to back championships. Would have three peated, but the girls refused to play anymore. Said i was too demanding and not considerate of their feelings...listen sassy, you can’t hit for ****, but your fast as hell on the bases. This pitcher sucks, don’t swing, I don’t care if you strikeout.

Swings at first Pitch and grounds out to double play. Bobby Knight tirade ensues, and I’m the bad guy...

More enjoyable when I got to the Florida men’s league, was a terror of the panhandle. Led the league in homers two years in a row. I could hit the ball over a mountain.

I definitely took some cues from Tom Hanks on how to manage the female Player perspective...but this story is true. I was all about winning, and wasn’t shy about sharing my thoughts.

- LC is possibly my top crush of all time.

- Met Tomi Lahren in Dallas...she's hot, but trashy Dallas new money hot. Which isn't necessarily an insult.

- MLB has sucked. Even with the Cubs doing well.

- NBA has been awesome. Can't get enough. Was crushing it in gambling (props to Colorado legalizing sportsbooks) during the eight pre playoff games. Have cooled since.

- Dame is my man. Love watching that dude. Confidence and swag for days.

- Chas McFarland coming up next week to visit. Always wild.

- Anth has always been generous with the liquor. My UT buddy still talks about Anth opening up the collection, and that was on a random tailgate.

- F*** Rex and f*** Wenyen. Not like you pulled a D Lamb and didn't come out of your room for some BS exhibition. You try and sabotage the program in anyway...after all that it has given you, and everyone of us would dream for...not having it. F*** you.

FL softball is steroids, shaved bats and white Oakley shades. It's 99% hitting solo bombs for outs and peacocking back to the dugout and1% trying to actually win.

I’m pretty sure I have the furthest HR of all time at Seaton field. Over the trees and hit Seaton Center itself. Boom! Yep, we took the school intramural championship that year. Man, wish I could go back in time.

I won the ladder tournament for UK Kiniesology’s “Beginning Tennis” course in the Spring of 2002 with a white guy Afro on my dome and a large speedway hot chocolate in my hand. I made a gym teacher major so upset he smashed his racket against he net post and bent it.

So, I too know exactly the feeling of high stakes athletic achievement described above.

*The news of W&W passing only made my already awful weekend that much more terrible as we buried my Granny, Sunday.

Received news the previous Saturday that my Grandmother passed away in her sleep. She was 92 and and had dementia so it didn't come as a shock when I received the phone call. Man...this one hurts. She was the one that basically raised me and was more like a mother than a Grandmother. The one I would visit in Coronado for those on here that know of my frequent travels to that area. Sucks.

She was also the last of my immediate family. It's a strange feeling having both parents and all grandparents not around.

Her daughter (my Aunt) and husband flew in on Friday and stayed with us until Monday. We made the most of it and tried to have a good time despite the reason for the visit.

Friday: Took the cart up to Gustavo's for dinner. Between my Aunt and I we took down 7 tall beers. My wife and her husband stuck with Margaritas. Afterwards, we went back to our house and thought they would be done with their early travels. Nope. Stayed up until 1 trying different bourbons at my bar. Felt like **** Saturday.

Saturday: Kept it simple and grilled out. Only a couple beers as the funeral was Sunday right at Mammoth Cave and I didn't want a hangover while paying last respects.

Sunday: Funeral and dinner. They wanted to take us out this time and apparently really loved Gustavo's. I took Monday off so I drank a bit again. They flew out on Monday morning and that was it. Hope to see them again soon.

*Trivia night at 502 on Tuesday. Surprisingly good time. Lots of smoke in attendance.

*Kids started school yesterday. AWESOME! What wasn't awesome was the hour it took to pick them up. I'm positive only half of the parents actually read the traffic plan for each part of the school. ********.

*Later

-Kordell Looney has been on the Kentucky football roster since 2014. Glad he'll get another year of eligibility next season as well.

-Despite not having a flowchart, went to Nashville yesterday for a day trip and had an enjoyable time. Oldest is starting to take a serious look at colleges and wanted to see Vandy. Didn't realize how all their athletic facilities were literally on the same block. The football stadium stands practically hang over the baseball stadium. Even though Vandy sucks because they're WEAK, it's still cool for students to have everything right there.

And that baseball program of theirs....so good. First class all the way.

-Doris Burke has to be the best female sportscaster of all time, right? I mean, is there even a close second? She absolutely KILLS it every single time on NBA coverage, (ir)regardless of the role she's in.

-As bad as "The Office" was post-Michael Scott, those seasons were still better than the first season of "Parks and Rec". I'd put seasons 2-5 of P/R up against the Scott years, though. Toss-up. Never watched "30 Rock".

-We need Banchero, and I do think we're more likely than not to get him, but *if* he chooses to go elsewhere, and JAI comes on board, that Collins kid he's been recruiting for Texas would be a nice consolation. He's slender, but scouts are raving about his upside.

-Sorry, Bernie.
