Speaking of bats, the underground youth bat black market is incredible. A 2016 Demarini Zen new in wrapper goes for like $1200. Got my oldest a used one for much much less but still got me thinking I need to start slinging baseball bats instead of demo

Bizarre year.

*No formalized social events, that and the weather gave it a weird vibe.

*Friday was a complete washout with flooding like I haven't seen in years.

*Saturday our group finished but in mostly pouring rain. Just brutal conditions. I shot a 72 that was later taken off the board because they eventually had to call it. We were putting the last hole with standing water on the green but we just wanted off the course. At least it wasn't a 63 like Andy Roberts...canceling out that round sucks (for him) but they had no choice.

*Sunday was great golfing weather, my old friend snapper hook met up with me on the course (we seem to be hanging out quite a bit these days) and I penalty shotted myself to an 81. My golf game continues to be a roller coaster this summer.

*61 year old former club pro won the one day event with a 66. 2020 continues to be strange.

Jeff H. ? Damn if so, sure didn't think he was 61.

You should never ever drive away or walk away from takeout or a drive-thru without checking your order. You get burned time and time again.

The section of the drive from downtown Versailles to 64 is gorgeous. Much like the drive from Calumet past the airport and Keeneland. However, the stretch from 64 out Paris Pike to Houston Oaks may be the best of them all. Care to nominate any other sections of drives in the state?

I have grown to really like Dan’s show, but I wait until the afternoon to listen to the replay so I can fast forward through his self-righteous lectures on social justice. The entire show is built around caricatures so sometimes I wonder if he is playing a part when he rants like that.

Dan takes issues with capitalism, oppression, white American culture, while claiming to be the voice of the voiceless. Yet I’m sure he enjoys his big, new contract and the white capitalists that pump money into the sports culture.

His foil is Clay Travis. They both have to be over the top opposite of each other. Both are insufferable, but I would rather listen to Dan. Clay is a downright awful listen. Dan is at least entertaining (surrounds himself with entertaining people) and can sometimes show some semblance of humility. Clay Travis could never be either of those things.

Dan is playing a role in a way. From everything everyone says about him, he’s selfish and condescending, but he projects that he’s the biggest empath in the world.

He also never entertains that there is another side to an argument. It’s always Travis or Stugotz representing the opposing view and so, of course, it looks stupid.

Greg Cote and Billy are the real stars of the show tbh

-yep. The notable exception is much of the programming on espnu on xm...every show has at least one former player/coach.* Love Rick Neuheisel.

*rather than a jocksniffing journo/fanboy. They actually know stuff about the sport they are speaking about...as opposed to creating "made for social media" content.

Czabe doesn't have a national show but he does national landscape out of DC. Best in the biz in my opinion. A mix of pop culture and sports. Plus he sure as hell is not a bleeding heart liberal.

Mountain Parkway coming up to the Gorge at sunrise is one of my favorites.

The rest stop at the gorge is also my go to nap stop. Haven't been murdered by a trucker yet so seems fine.

The drive to Paducah, though, can GGP.

I read Anthony’s bat story to my daughter (and technically two other people’s in the Hilton lobby in flagstaff earlier today) .....very good reception from the misguided jarhead wanna be - it was a good story

you know who isn’t allowed to laugh when they want ?
Marines ....

also fifty pushups and sleep deprivation issued when the Girl-Marines have their “period”....which they have to refer to as their “Montezuma Sunrise” until they’re NCOs

I’m in Tucson now - They have shut down. All businesses after eight pm - but you can’t **** DOWN FUN

....just now hitting that intoxication sweet spot that calls for a night walk and good conversation with stranger a

Nicholasville Rd from Connemara to Southland Drive.

North side of New Circle....no where else can you see a hundred used car lots and pawn shops.

- Enjoying Last Chance through 2 episodes. Dior is my favorite with RJ a close second. "Sometimes sit here and throw this football to myself for 7 hours".

- Been noticing Alexa not working well lately but ignored it until last night. Turns out it's my Wink Hub. Back in May they sent a notice that they're broke and charging $5 per month now and have customers 7 days notice. False - Samsung hub comes tomorrow. Will I am and co can get pumped hard for that ***** move.

- Went to buy a new driver on Sat. After hitting 20 or so balls and breathing heavily though a gaiter, buddy tells me I don't have to wear it while I'm swinging. Thanks, man. Took the Cally Epic from the used bin.

- Looking at a cash-out refi to add a pool vs move to a neighborhood I could retire in. We pay extra p/m and staying with refi at 15 yr would add one year to the plan. All excited until these estimates came in and seems like this is everyone's plan now.

- Surgery in the AM. Have asked at least 5x for some idea of what this costs. Oh you have a high deductible. I do. Wtf does this cost? Early look appears that I'm financing the hospital.

- Baseball is more interesting to me without the fans.

Can someone please get a good discussion going this morning?

We've got about 3 days before "UK Athletics and politics" overtakes us, so we kinda need to step on the gas a bit.

I made a tomahawk steak last night. Was kind of fun, but I’m going back to the ten oz ribeyes instead of that thing. Tasted more like a prime rib than a steak. Sad!

Roderick Rhodes was done wrong, run out of town by Rick. Go! Seriously, what was the story? Moved back to KY after this all went down.

I'm totally buying the story that he was turning Cordia into a powerhouse based on coaching merits alone. If he can get all the best athletes from Grigsby and Hardburly and Anco and Ritchie and Wiscoal and Allock, they've got the chops to win big.

-split a hog with my brother in law. Farm is in Lancaster(btw...anyone heard from bkh?). 3something a pound. Lotsa sausage, roasts, bacon, chops etc. Helluva deal. Highly recommend to anyone with ample freezer space.

^made a batch of 1.5-2" thick bone in chops Saturday. Salt, pepper, sage. Started in pan finished in oven. Made gravy with the drippings. Incredible.

- I really thought the 60-game sprint in MLB would make me that much MORE excited about baseball. But instead, the importance of every game has actually taken a bit of the fun out of it. I actually enjoy the ebbs and flows of a season, but now EVERY GAME MATTERS, so the fact that the Indians Tribe Cleveland Baseball Club has decided to use water noodles for bats has drained all the excitement for me. Thankfully, 28 of 32 teams (or something like that) now make the playoffs, so there's still a chance, but oof.

-Couple next to us at Jeff Ruby's told the server they were on their first date. He was in a polo and shorts. And they split their app, their salad, and their dessert. I don't see that relationship lasting.

-Theatrics aside, what a fun product the NBA is right now. Boston goes up 18 on MY Blazers the other day. They come back to tie it. Two teams just throwing haymakers at each other. AD going off last night, but Utah hanging in there somehow. Love how seemingly random CBB players seem to find their niche and make it work in the league. And any game when JVG is on the call is a fun listen.
