Oh random luck, bad matchups, IT'S TOUGH TO WIN A TITLE LOOK AT THE HISTORY aren't valid excuses for better teams not winning basketball titles at the high school level.

Just college, I guess.

Park Hills Catholic doesn't have the same ring to it.

It is within the Diocese of Covington tho.

I’ll put the late 80s/early 90s Ballard/Fairdale/PRP teams against anyone. Ballard/Male and Fairdale/PRP games were like state championship games.

But like SAE said, it’s tough to win a title in a one off system. Especially playing all the games in Lexington with an anti-Louisville crowd and referees.

Or even better, let’s put PRP vs Ballard in the first round of the State Tournament!!!

HD remake of Rad is out today

Two pages of garbage from ThroughBlue, Chief, and catsfag to start the day, and not ONE mention of a sentimental remake.

Do better, GYERO.

4th region alum. Holla!

Got to guard Lonnell Dewalt at the 3/4 freshman year. Now THAT was fun. Their starting 5 frosh team were all on varsity (and could have won the region themselves), and their ******* coaches brought them down to play us just to be dicks.

Nice opening the game and season with a dunk on my grill. Split the season though. Yea, and that 5 went on to be the 2004 state championship team with a few of the nastiest dunks I’ve ever seen at the high school level.

Remember listening to that tourney driving from Johnson City to Columbus for the cursed 2004 tourney

Dewalt is one of the dumber human beings to walk this gay earth but **** that man could jump. Not only did he block five or six kicks for Kentucky football but I swear he goaltender a three pointer at the end of the game against mason county in the state championship and he was standing what looked to be right under the free throw line. He had to have had his hand 13ft in the air to get that ball.

Dewalt had some legitimate learning issues (special ed). So it’s pretty amazing he was even able to attend UK at all.

I guess those Ballard teams with Dejuan Wheat, Male with Jason Osbourne, and Fairdale had a few crazy athletic kids that played football too but I don’t remember their names.

The best team I ever saw was the 1997 Eastern Eagles. Of course they had to be “cheating” to keep the Taylors and Cowards eligible, but they were unreal good!

I

Strokin’ with all due respect to your coaching acumen you acted confused why Carrier didn’t quite pan out to the level of Chapman and that he had a minor league version of the same skill set. Rex maybe half nuts now and he’s justifiably pissed off half our fanbase but the dude was a hot damn national phenom in high school not some local top 100 honk who could shoot against mediocre competition by national standards but struggle to get a shot off the bounce against real athletes. We’re comparing different types of athletes. Chapman marcus welby been a damn brother from Memphis with how he played the game and his elite athleticism.

96’ UHA started a front court of Lamont Barnes 6’10”, Harold Swanigan 6’10” and Isiah Victor 6’8”.

Not stiffs, played at Temple, ND and UT (UK should have recruited Victor, never understood that).

It was a joke watching them play against other HS squads. Problem is they thought it was a joke too and never played hard.

I was insinuating that our fan base wanted Carrier to be a poor man’s Rex. People remembered his dad playing professionally and they were hoping Josh would do the same.

Yea I was at UK with Josh and I don’t think those of us on campus back then really shared those expectations. Nice guy, though.

The old timers eating breakfast down at the local greasy spoon were hoping for it. Believe it or not, many of our fan base saw a 6’5 homegrown white boy with short cropped hair that could shoot and immediately thought “Rex!” It’s not that big of a reach to think some of our LOW BASKETBALL IQ fans made that connection.

Watched Carrier one time his senior year in Bowling Green. Knew immediately he was going to suck. Blatantly obvious. Zero handle, zero defense, zero athleticism, never attempted to get inside the 3 point arc, made a few but nothing special.
