If you follow me closely enough to know who I have blocked when it isn't you, then that's even weirder.

No, I haven't worn a mask at all times, every single moment of my life since March. I have probably worn it more than most, but less than some. Walking into the Barstool office, putting on a mask wasn't my first thought.

The post the dude responded with that picture was just me noting that ultimately I am done arguing about the Coronavirus. People can think whatever they want to think (and they do...including folks in here). At the end of the day, after people's lives (which are just a number until you know someone infected), the thing I care most about is college sports and my restaurant. People can ***** and moan about death rates, positive rates, fake tests, etc and ultimately it is all just political talking points. Companies/schools are worried about liability and a LARGE amount of Americans (especially older ones) Are worried about their safety. When Trump can only draw 6,000 people in Tulsa, it tells me that people have changed their behavior because of the virus. Since then, all the numbers have only gone up. I think it is a fact that the decision of the Governors in the South to reopen quickly and with few restrictions combined with the desire of many people to not wear a mask (because of FREEDOM!) has led to more cases and neither of those coming back as quickly as I wanted. All the arguments in the world won't change that fact. I am just resigned to it unfortunately
What do you think about cuomos absolute failure in NY? In fact NY, NJ, and CT make up almost 38% of the deaths but have around 5% of the country's population. Not only did cuomo sign an executive order to force seniors into nursing homes to keep Medicare reimbursement, he couldn't clean the cities transmission vessel, the subways ungil 10 weeks in. He also threatened to sue any gov who would let new yorkers enter their state...Florida being the number 1 landing spot. In fact when you look at the flatten the curve graph, NY cases show exactly the opposite and what we wanted to avoid.
Cuomo has killed more grandmas than everyone in the country.

And let's not ignore ppl changed their science for protests. Two months ago California arrested a guy for paddle boarding alone, yet protests are fine. The cause is irrelevant...the virus doesn't care about social justice. Is it a risk or not that's contributed to an uptick? But ah yes...."why would ron desantis do this" while ignoring the failures of tye northeast and ignoring California all together isn't suspect at all. My favorite is when people threw a fit over florida having 27 deaths a couple weeks ago yet New York had several days of 800 a day a couple months prior.

Look at the flatten the curve graph...theres a second spike on there all along...im unsure why ppl thought it wasn't going to happen. Remember "15 days to slow the spread"

Who is “Spears,” what did he post, and who got him fired?

<— totally missed all of this

Was literally getting ready to type the same thing.I know GYERO has created lifelong friendships, relationships, and even kids. But people getting fired from their jobs? GYERO truly knows no bounds.

How does a guy get fired because of posting on GYERO other than being on it all day, every day and "NOT" owning the company?

-Bernie, I just mastered the Jeep wave and now you're buying a Bronco. Now, when we pass on the road I'm not going to be able to acknowledge your existence.

Are they playing at the Florence Freedom park?
A) it’s the Florence Y’Alls

B) the Reds are playing at GABP

C) I think I read that the Y’Alls are actually playing a summer series against another podunk minor league team from Lexington

D) I wouldn’t trifle with that nonsense anyway. The only good minor league sport used to be minor league soccer but now even that isn’t worth my time.

Jason Spears was a poster that used to post constantly on the board, but not in GYERO, and I never really paid much attention to the posts or content. Had a Sig with all the UK players NBA jerseys back when signatures were a thing (no clue if they still are turned them off like 10 years ago). He was a PT and had two children under 5 years old. Apparently he made fun of someone with fibromyalgia or some **** and that guy called his work (since he used his real name) and said Jason was harassing him and essentially got him fired from his job. I’m not really sure of exact details but that’s the jist of it.

Spears posted something about fibromyalgia. Poster thought it was ******** and called his employer, pointed them to the posts and he got fired for what he posted.

Yep.

Alittle late to respond, but Ted sent down several bottles if anyone is wanting a taste or 3 while visiting me at the dealership. Swing by. Boat, I was all set to bring some, But Harris told me not to waste my time. And honestly with the selection you two brought that night, its was outclassed. Still good stuff and I'm excited for all of the family up in Starlight who's making it.

Even though I'm not a brandy guy, I got one of the last bottles of brandy from the original grape vines my Great Great Great Grandfather planted at Huber winery before they finally died out 5-6 years ago. Pretty cool knowing the juice in the bottle came from something planted so long ago by the hands of a descendant.

I don't think the fibromyalgia stuff is what got him fired it's just what pissed someone off enough to send his other posts to his employer. It's all been scrubbed but I think there were posts of him mocking patients.

Moral of the story: If you work in the medical industry and talk about patients on a message board, don't use your real name as your username.

Colorado and Georgia had (to my knowledge) essentially the same re-opening plan on basically the same schedule. Colorado, however, has had far fewer cases than Georgia.

It is easy to speculate as to why (fewer people in air conditioning in CO, more people outdoors, healthier population, etc) but no one knows why and shouldn't act like it.
I'll toss out a guess. One state is Colorado, the other is the inspiration for this guy:

-Late to this, but the best part of that post-Belk Bowl locker room video is that Stoops goes immediately from "WE DON'T TAKE SH*T FROM NOBODY" to the Lord's Prayer

-One of the things I've been reminded during this pandemic is that social media isn't real life, and the gap between the two seems to widen more every single day.

-60 game sprint to the finish in MLB. I think it's great. And as for my Cleveland Indians (professional baseball team)....the rotation LOOK good the lineup FEELS good I like MY chances

-I miss there being actual characters in baseball. Whether players or managers, social media and our uber-PR-conscious society has robbed the sport of much of its personality. There are some guys who are still honest on social media, like Trevor Bauer, Sean Doolittle, Tim Anderson, etc., but the vast majority are just smiling, say-nothing clones. I also miss there being out-of-shape baseball players. Sabathia and Colon are the last of a (possibly literally) dying breed, I guess.

What do you think about cuomos absolute failure in NY?

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci praised New York for its handling of the coronavirus pandemic, saying the state did it “correctly.”
“We know that, when you do it properly, you bring down those cases. We have done it. We have done it in New York,” Fauci said in an interview on “PBS NewsHour.”

Spears is ok. He still posts his "expertise" and weak jokes in pretty much every single HOB thread these days under his new "ranking."

He occasionally posts in here and fits in pretty well, tbh. Solid poster.

FWIW, I’m sure I would rate in the higher 10% of GYERO age demographic. Returned 3 weeks ago from a Florida beach vacation, used common sense, wore mask in public (except on beach), washed hands often, dined in outdoor patio and dockside settings, enjoyed great seafood and adult beverages, and otherwise had a wonderful time. Keep this in GYERO, ie, don’t rat me out to Andy or MJ...I couldn’t bear the shaming...

It was the fibromyalgia. Wettpuss said his daughter or someone was diagnosed. Many people aggravated him saying his daughter was a pill seeker and Jason actually gave the guy A well thought out answer including past experiences with people who claimed to have it or have been diagnosed. He gave no names and it would have been impossible to know the people he was referring to. Wettpuss didn’t like heckling or JS answer so the puss took it out on the only guy he could do something about. The guy sent screenshots to the employer.

New York and New Jersey have the highest death per capita in the world and it's not even close.

Whole state. I know you all don't care for Cuomo and NYS as a whole, but the guy split up the state is a handful of regions and they all have their own criteria for opening. Where I live is treated differently than the NYC region.

There was never a reason to treat all of NYS the same as NYC and that is how Cuomo has treated reopening. Essentially what Anth has been crowing about to no end....

Not making ANY excuses for our idiotic elected officials, but this is a function of being the most densely populated area with exotic ethnicities piled on top of one another forced to use mass transit.

science has always had a political bent to be on the side of the truth in numbers, but this Covid exercise is transparent and Fauci himself has enough interviews in him now to be easily deemed a liar.

the hydroxychloroquine pretzel is the thing that sets me off. It clearly helped me and others were forced to avoid it because it didn’t help one side’s narrative. There could be deaths out there that could’ve been avoided. The Lancet produced and Later retracted the leading study against it.

***I think I might love South Park Country Club rundown***

*Props to BBdK for hosting Showkiller and our wives this weekend. Dude was a fantastic host. He had everything all set up and ready to go, from our rooms to tee times and all in between he had it covered. Props for his play as well, but I'll let him give that recap.

*They take their GAMBOL pretty serious out there, and I luckily (and I do mean luckily) profited.

*Friday night they're having the Calcutta on their deck close to their putting green. Showkiller and I finish up our practice round and roll up to a $10 a man up and down game, with carryovers, with about 10 guys in it. We decide to join when it's $30 a man, and we continue until BBdK's cart lights are needed so we can see the green. Ultimately, when it is up to $60 a man and dark, it is decided that closest to the pin wins it all and someone picks and incredibly difficult shot. Luckily for me, I manage to get it closest to the pin (without getting on the green (not my rule)) and win right around $500 on a pretty lucky chip shot. Every single guy pays, no one scurries away in the dark, which they could've easily done.

*Saturday I tripled number 2, but kept it together and was +1 the rest of the way around for a 76. Managed to get closest to the pin on a difficult par 3 (18 inches). Another lucky break was getting a skin on that hole. There were only four out all day, so mine was worth $435.

*Sunday, I made a QUAD on the first hole ([laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing]). After a legitimately top of his lungs announcement of who is on the tee by their pro, I topped my tee shot about 30 yards into a ditch left. Wedged it out. Topped a 3 wood back into the ditch. Wedged out, hit 6 iron to a greenside bunker, duffed it out, got it up and down for an 8. I'm fairly sure the guys I was playing with were like who in the f*ck is this idiot? Played the rest of the round even par for another 76 and managed 3rd in my flight. I also got long drive on Sunday; HOWEVER, if the Championship flight played the same tees as everyone else, I'm 99% sure I wouldn't have gotten it (I did not go 360 Doc, but it was piped down the middle). Unbeknownst to me until I got handed an envelope, they paid 3 spots in the Calcutta so won an extry $200ish there.

*Guys I played with were very cool, but I have to say with the heat I was mildly concerned about the guy I was riding in a cart with. Really nice guy, but I'd guess he's pushing 4 bills. He played well though. Always amazes me how some guys that are FAT fat can play golf well.

*All in all, made $300 in pro shop credit and about $850 in cash. Bought a Scotty and some shoes at the shop, counted my blessings, and plan to return again next year prepared to not win a dime and lose my *** on gambol.

*One last note, they have a one-armed dude there who can flat play. Saw him stripe a drive, saw an empty sleeve, and was like WTF did that guy just smoke one with one arm? Apparently the answer is yes, and he does it all the time. Super impressive.

Golf Shorts:

-Finished +1 for the tourney (72/73) - T1 in 1st flight, and lost in sudden death playoff on hole #2 w/ a sizeable gallery following. Brutal. Bogeyed 18 in regulation to finish off a bad break lie, then missed a 6 foot breaker on the 1st playoff hole to win it again -- guy hit Driver 9i into the 2nd playoff hole, a 520yd par 5...[eyeroll] ballgame. Cost me about a grand, but still made off with $800 from buying myself in the Calcutta. Toughest loss since my HS/competitive days.

Truth be told, I blew it on Saturday -- 6 birdies and only managed Even Par. Fairly certain I've never made 6 birdies in a competitive round, ever. What a waste.

-Field was just stacked. 100+ players, and there were single digit handicaps in the Sixth flight.

-The one armed golfer is State Rep Alan Gentry. He breaks 80 quite often. He's incredible.

-Josh Rogers, Orioles pitcher, is a newish member -- guy has played golf 3-4 years, and hits it a touching MILE. Monster.

-Chase, lol. Toucher won about every prize possible. Nice 4 figure profit weekend for that guy.

-@tfields01 - Rob Crockett, arguably the best player in the field, got in an altercation with his group (his best friends), and walked off the course on R1. What a little *****. My best buddy out there had him for $800 in the Calcutta. :joy:

-Lotta of fireworks late. Eventual winner holed out on 15 from 80 yards for Eagle..he was 4 back at the time...then, the guy he was chasing all weekend straight topped his Tee Shot into the drink on 17 with the entire club following to hand it to him. Ouch.

-Emergency 9 after the tournament w/ a 12some, betting $100 a man in a little scramble. A post tournament/game E9 is the most fun you can have on a golf course, imo.

-Invitationals are just the best. 2 weeks til the Eli :golf:

Crockett is a friendly enough guy, but he's definitely all about Crockett. So that's not in the least bit surprising. Who was he playing with? Do you know what happened?

I'm really interested to hear the full story. What I heard was a guy in his group broke a club and threw it, a piece of it hit Crockett, and they got in a fight and Crockett walked off the course. I have zero clue how much of that is true, and BBdK probably has the full story by now, but I do know Crocket was like +6 to +8 for the day when he walked off, so I'm curious if that played a larger role than the altercation.

Short version is that Some dude (apparently his best friend, their entire group was Oxmoor guys) broke a club on the cart, and it hit Rob. And then all hell broke loose - punches, the works. A few of my buddies saw it all and said they'd never seen anything like it on a golf course. It was on 16, so there were people witnessing from 3-4 other holes...basically stopped play for 20 minutes.

He was playing like turd, think he was +5-6 after 15. Consensus was that had he been playing well, he wouldn't have left -- so despite his buddy being the ******* who started it, he's the one who ended up looking like the *****.

Gotta watch those East Enders.

What’s the verdict on Hurstbourne’s reno? I haven’t been there in 7-8 years, but that place was having major surgery when I left.
